When I read complaints here about Ramona/Sonja/Luann wanting to be where the men were, I thought folks were saying that just because you reach a certain age you should hang it up, sit on the porch and knit.

I think the problem with some of these women, Ramona and Sonja mostly, is it seems their main interest is picking up men.  When I was young, that was what my friends and I all did, we went to college to meet men, get married and become army wives.  (though most of those marriages did not last)

When you get to be a certain age, you might still want a relationship, but it's no longer the main focus, you want something more than just screwing, but maybe Ramona/Sonja/Luann don't.

Oh my gosh. I have a few aunts (and a father) who had it going on when they were younger, and are sort of unaware they are older. I don't think it's that big of deal in general, but many times it makes people around them uncomfortable. But when you get old, people forgive stuff. Even though Ramona and Sonja look fantastic, they have a grandma vibe. When they look at young people they seem uncomfortable, IMO.

  2. I always thought Luanne was the most beautiful housewife (of all cities) with her gorgeous high cheekbones and tall strong sex body. I still think she is exceptionally beautiful.

NY has always had women with interesting looks. Bethanny, Dorinda, Heather, Carole, Aviva, Jill... others?? Then there are the models (Kelly, Jules, the tall blond lady). and the conventionally cute ladies (Ramona, Sonya, Tinsely).

I'm sure I'm forgetting people, but I think Luanne is just stunning. She's getting older, and she should prob lay off the smokes (same with Dorinda), but she's just gorgeous.

  3. I"m Leah's age, and my mom is just as disapproving as Leah's mom, but my mom is nicer about it. Leah's mom is pretty blunt. I don't believe that Leah's MTTM was funded through the police verdict. I do think she says that to sound cool. But I'm sure her mom and dad probably helped her out the most. Knowing she had the 75K probably was the reassurance.

  4. So urban dictionary definitions that people use. This is the one I'm familiar with (IMO granola is a derogatory term):

    https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Granola

    I use 3,4,

Someone who is "granola" tends to enjoy the outdoors, all while staying inside in their nice suburban middle-class white neighborhood. They are usually seen wearing Chacos, Patagonia t-shirts, and Columbia PFG shorts, along with a North Face backpack, a Camelbak water bottle (attached with a carabiner,) and even a Life is Good hat and Kavu keychain. They claim to enjoy hiking and other outdoor activities while rolling up in their off-road vehicle that they would never dare get a speck of dirt on. They dream about living in the mountains and taking amazing roadtrips but never do. They care about nature and want to "save the trees" and recycle as much as possible. Those who have gone granola actually listen to pretty good music, like folk and alternative and heavily enjoy Christian music if they are religious (another reason they enjoy the outdoors - to get "closer to God"). In short, granola people are almost like modern-day transcendentalists and slight hippies, just without the drugs and psychedelic music.

Jack: Did you see Will rolling up in his shiny, clean Jeep Liberty with a kayak on top? He stepped out wearing a Patagonia t-shirt and $100 Chacos! He must have gone granola.

There is a difference between being natural and environmentally conscious, and being granola IMO.

  5. I think granola means that you are a privileged white girl that likes the brand name camping/sporting gear and traveling to poor countries and calling it "helping people" but you are really just trying to have great pictures for Instagram. Granola people are those that are spending the big bucks on kombucha and are likely vegan or claim to be clean eating. It's a fashion statement and it's all about the brand names/ trends. It's people quick to conform because they lack identity, authentic voice, and purpose, and have anxiety about it. IMO, Leah could be kind of considered granola-- especially since she goes to the gritty places to be cool, but then spends her time there making fun of people or making mean comments (like at that dungy spa).

I feel like Ramona purposely created a rift with Elyse so she could have an out for Leah's party.

Either Ramona double-booked a date with her therapy appointment, or she was trying to snag a date with the next patient.  “I just finished therapy and I’m great.  Let’s go out so I can tell you how great I am, and I can tell you what you need to fix, because I fixed myself.”

Leah’s sweatshirts boggle my mind.  She said they were talking to Hanes, Fruit of the Loom and Russell Athletic.  If I wanted a $10 sweatshirt with something on it, I’ll just order from Etsy tyvm.

I do love how Ramona explained that she “loves Dorinda, but doesn’t always like her.”   I’m sure this is what Bunny was referring to, but then Sarah used it to gaslight Leah.

Leah's clothes are inexpensive, because who is going to pay a lot of money for a shirt that says they are controlled by dick or a huge bitch. I think it's niche. Maybe like bachelorette party or something. In any case, most people are wearing those slogans casually-- it's sort of a joke or for fun. For a certain occasion it might work. It's kind of like a cross between Claire's and Spencers.

My mom and dad, who are in their 70s, make me watch the show in the basement when I visit because they don't like the yelling. LOL.

For real. Jon needs clientele who don't care about more fashionable items.

I looked at Married to the Mob website, and I will agree that it's a little unremarkable. I sort of think that Leah is a rich kid, somewhat like Tinsley, only more hippie style. I sort of think her dad is Jewish, but she keeps it on the low because she doesn't want to seem like the typical Jewish girl in NYC. I could be wrong, but she's definitely trying to prove that she isn't someone, more than trying to prove who she is. Maybe her issue is she doesn't have an identity.

Edited to add that her Wikipedia says she is Irish- Italian. So her dad took the mom's last name?

  9. None of these ladies are victims, IMO. I think if anyone's vitriol hurts, it is Rinna's on Denise, as Denise likes Rinna. With LVP, she did truely fuck up by trying to get everyone to hate Dorit for taking the dog to a shelter. Denise, however, however, did nothing wrong. She didn't like the ladies talking about threesomes in front of her teenaged daughters and friends.

People adopt shelter dogs and get rid of them all the time because they have problems. So I'm not at all surprised that the rescue didn't work out. I never thought Dorit deserved the hate she got, since it was really Lisa's fault trying to adopt out a dog without the proper training. Dorit was maybe trying to save LVP's face by finding  an alternate family for the dog, of whom soon realized had problems, and took to a shelter.

In May I adopted a shelter dog that had way more problems than the shelter let on. I was tempted on a few occasions to take him back, because his bites were pretty deep and required medical attention. The shelter begged me to give him another chance, and sent over a dog trainer who worked with us (on the shelter donor's dime) for over a month. Now, he is a happy guy and we pet him all time, and he loves it. No biting. It was A LOT OF WORK to get to this point. I don't see LVP really being able to follow up with an aggressive dog and provide the support needed. That said, after a few months, the dogs do settle down. It does take some work, but it's worth it.

  10. If the sisters are US citizens, they are in the best position to send money home. They know Asuelu has no money, but they want Kalani, who they know does have money (through her family) to pick up where Ansuelu left off. Kalani and her family are not giving them a dime, and they are pissed. The sister especially is trying to bully Kalani into giving the family money like Ansuelu did before he was married, saying, "You knew Ansulu supported his family when you married him."

  11. Paul-- "We need to move to the US where I can make money." = "We can get welfare." I don't think Paul is going to get a job because he is getting gov assistance with him and his two dependents. Food stamps don't pay for dog food, which I'm thinking is why Paul needed his mom for that.

  12. Kalani's dad is Samoan, but he ditched the Samoan culture and married into the Mormon culture, which is all-consuming and intensive in terms of commitment, time, resources. It's a lifestyle. When Ansuelu says he wants to be an American man, I think he's talking about following Kalani's dad's example.

  13. I think Rinna realized that Garcelle will go deep and that the reason Garcelle went "there" was because of Rinna's bullying of Denise. I think it was easier for Rinna to apologize to Denise than talk about how flaunting her body effects her kids.

If Rinna thinks that her daughters aren't affected by her body issues and need to show off her body, she's in denial or selfish or both.

Actually Erika is the worst mother ever since she abandoned her child to give blow jobs in a strip club.

But Rinna is a solid second place.

Well, Erika is providing for her child now, where Lisa Rinna is telling  her adult children who have anxiety disorders and body issues that they have to model to support themselves and she won't pay for their lifestlyes.

Ericka at least doesn't care that her son isn't hgh earing and will support him. Her son seems like he is fine. He has a job and a family. It will be interesting to see if Rinna's kids ever get married and have kids, or just have a  happy independent life.

I generally like Garcelle, but COME ON, when she mentioned Rinna’s semi-nude dancing she was *totally* judging her as a mother. Don’t get it twisted.

Rinna is a horrible mother. The father is absent. Rinna spends all her time focused on her stupid body that no one finds attractive. She's flat out said that she wants the girls to model because they can't make money doing anything else and she won't support them.

She's the worst mother EVER. I think Rinna has told them she'd pay their rent to say nice things about her.

I think she wasn’t really judging. She was throwing shade.

Plus Garcelle owned it when she was called on it on Instagram.

Anything anyone does to Rinna is deserved. The dirtier and the lower the better.

Yes, it was shade to Rinna, because clearly Garcelle hates  her. But it was deserved, not just made up out of thin air. If Garcelle like Rinna, she'd keep it to herself. But she doesn't so she put it out there, and I think that's totally fair.

Rinna has thrown all her "friends" under for one reason or another, so someone doing the same to Rinna-- it's about time.

I hope Kim comes back only because she knows how fucked up Rinna is and will put it out there when provoked. I DO NOT think that Brandi should be friends with anyone. She might be friends with Kim, but Kim is a drug addict, so she's easy to take advantage of. Plus, Kim likes anyone who likes her. When Kyle said that Brandi has been a true friend to Kim, I was floored. I do wish that Brandi's vitriol was focused on Rinna instead of Denise. Denise already is hated and judged for being with Sheen, and no one will hire her. She's in soap operas which shows her desperation and willingness to put her pride aside for work.

To go from movie star to soap operas is sad. I'm sure Denise's life is not easy and these ladies are making it harder for her, for really no reason except that she didn't want them to talk about adult stuff around her kids.

I think Garcelle had a pretty woke response. Lisa Rinna put it  out there, there scantily clothed dancing, and I think Garcelle smartly thought about how that would affect her girls and called her on it. It's about time someone called out Rinna.

The only people that have called out Rinna for her eating (Kim and Kathryn) were met with strong reactions and denials.

Most people with eating disorders understand them very well.

Yes, especially when going through intensive therapy at an eating disorder center.  You learn all the ways society feeds your eating disorder and keeps you sick. Bravo is actually a restricted channel where I was-- we could only watch certain channels that promoted positive body images and eating behaviors. In the hospital I learned that there are no bad foods. All food should be eaten and in moderation. Avoiding certain food groups (without medical clearance) was prohibited. I saw so many girls break down having to eat a small amount of fat on pork or chicken. I saw little kids hooked  up to feeding tubes because they wouldn't eat. One lady, she was in her 50s, left the clinic because her husband told her her face looked fuller. Everyone was forced to eat food that was previously avoided (unless medical clearance). There were people that couldn't put bread in their mouths without anxiety attacks, and people that left that day because they simply refused to eat "normal" food without their modifications. It was really very sad.

"Dangerous lack of character" is not the same as "sociopath," which is what serial killers and dictators are. So yeah, I'm still not seeing it, your amusement at my statement notwithstanding.

Agree about the sociopath thing. If any of these ladies were sociopaths, someone would be dead. They all have their shit together enough to not kill someone. I'm pretty sure about that. Everyone's exs' and exes exes are still alive so I think we can rule sociopath out.

There are still plenty of unflattering DSM-V labels to ascribe-- narcistic, histrionic, dependent, delusional.... search, "personality disorders"

  20. Ansuelo definitely gets his social skills from his mom's side of the family. Maybe the mom lives off of the sister's disability, but I can see if they are all living off her disability, her thumbs down makes sense. I liked when Kalani point blank asked the sister if she sends money home. You can tell that really rattled her.

Libby's relationship with Andrei seems bordering on abuse. They seem to have a very unhealthy codependent relationship. I don't see it lasting.

Why they don't put clothes on their boys is beyond me. Those flannel sleepers are hot-- the littlest one always looks like he is burning up, with his sweaty red face and sweaty hair all the time.

  21. I don't care if Brandi was lying about Johanna or not. The fact she would say those things to the media is low and degrading her. Is Brandi a professional tattletale? She just wants to be the low life that snitches on everyone? Okay. No one says anything about Brandi, because no one cares about Brandi. She's an opportunist and IMO very damaged and messed up. She needs a good mentor and a real fulfilling job/ career/ life.

Sutton is OK, but I think the one thing I can't get on board with is how uncomfortably immature she is. She's sort of like Tinsely, but she sneers instead of whines. Sutton complaining about not knowing where to sit and demanding to be sat because she was uncomfortable-- that was very strange to see a grown woman not capable of making such a minor decision (where to sit) and then having a tantrum over it.

I believe that Brandi and Denise hooked up, and Denise probably did tell her Aaron was cool with it and changed her story later. I DO NOT think Brandi is overcome with guilt by being tricked into being a cheater. I think she found an easy way to get back on the show, and since she LOVES to tattle, tattle on Denise. Kyle being okay with it because she isn't "lying" is very typical of Kyle, who really tries hard to find reasons to not think.
