As mentioned elsewhere, this might be a situation (neutral site conference title game) that is here to stay. At first I wasn't a fan of it, but then I was okay with it. Similar to New England having to go to Pittsburgh a long time ago, it's not much of a hinderance for Kansas City. Everyone else? Probably. Cincinnati might be able to deal with it, and if they get to Buffalo & beat them, then this is a moot point. Until it isn't. The closest I could think of in terms of a last minute change becoming sorta permanent was six years ago when the NFL pushed the Steelers/KC game back over 7 hours. It was one of the final years, if not the final year where the Sunday divisional round was 1:00 & 4:45 in terms of kickoff before moving to 3:00 and 6:30 to emulate the following weeks start times. So when a change happens over a tough case, there will be people complaining that the league takes advantage of a one time thing. IMO, this was slated to occur later anyway, but probably due to other factors in life

Unless one planned on watching a team for 60 minutes regardless of the outcome, no one's watching a blowout. My team won a game 62-0 years ago. Everybody bolted early / at halftime. FWIW, people tried to defend TCU with a comparison of Bama/Clemson. While 44-16 was the end result, Alabama wasn't out of it. They were far from it since it was a 2-possession game at the half. The Tide got the ball to start the second half. Even if they had mustered something to where the final score was 51-33, complete of another Clemson score, you couldn't count out the Crimson Tide. 38-7 courtesy of Georgia at the expense of TCU meant it was over. If that was the final score, that would be bad, but it wasn't even the final score! Even if it's a team you picked or betted on or your love, it doesn't need to be a rout. Sure it's comforting, but I'm a fan of a competitive game, and then you can stretch the lead in the 4th quarter (or even mid-way through the 3rd quarter)

Don't forget that Tom Brady is undefeated against the Cowboys. That may change, but I'm not picking against TB12 until he loses
-
And in half the time I reacted to your post, Georgia scored

I actually have it on right now haha!

So I had a dream prior to this morning where I slept through the postseason. It must have been a nightmare since I missed the playoffs & Super Bowl, but THEN? I looked at the statistics & noticed that the Bengals had entered the 4X AFC champs category, but then Dallas moved from a 3rd-place tie for most Lombardi Trophies to a 3-way first place tie at SIX. I can't remember if I was more stunned than livid or the opposite. I guess the good news is that I woke up & it was just a bad DREAM!

Not shocked & relieved. As mentioned, safety first. Putting in the other factors makes this game & his attendance rather meaningless. While Tua showed that he would not completely crumble in the elements, he wasn't that great early on. I do feel for the guy. Seems like a nice person, but there's nothing he can do about his inactive status, and that's all for the best

SEC vs Big XII + 65-7 * Monday Night / ESPN = Worst. National. Title. Game. Ever. Though if you're Georgia, it was the best CFB Championship Game ever. Ratings-wise, it was the lowest since 1998

Here are the final AP Top 25 Rankings

And Georgia just scored again! Edit: They scored twice...second one while I was typing the post!

I didn't have a problem with Kirby Smart "running up the score" on TCU. The Horned Frogs were the 3rd best team (or ranked team) in the country. It was up to them to stop Georgia from scoring. The Bulldogs had a game to win. Otherwise, they'd allow for Duggan to score to keep it close or score enough to win the game

We'll never know what would've happened if someone else was in the spotlight. People on Social Media are saying that Alabama had no business being in the Top 4. Many of them were thrilled when they missed. To which I concluded that if someone got blown out, and then someone would say that "This would never have happened to Alabama!" I'd respond by saying that Bama could've gotten destroyed even more. TCU was better this season. They, along with Ohio State (and Michigan) did enough to get there. Alabama didn't. That would've been my response. I think where the committee errored on was putting Ohio State in 4th place and not dropping TCU there instead. OSU should've been third place. We get a nice GAME, we get TCU out of the way, and then the winner of Michigan/OSU get Georgia. I still feel Georgia wins out, but the National Championship would have been so much better. And yeah, even if Bama got there, it would not have been this bad. Matchups are a thing. Unfortunately, TCU, would qualified this season, was not a great match up at all. Cincinnati at least put up a better fight last year against Alabama. At the end of the day, there are some teams that are built for meaningful postseason College Football, and some are not. TCU was not. Yeah they beat Michigan, but they aren't used to the postseason either. They were there last year, but they aren't as seasoned as Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, and Georgia

I'm happy Georgia won (aided by picking them to win), but in my opinion, switching to extended live coverage on The Weather Channel would've been a better option for one's Monday evening TV viewing

After 5 months, 17 weeks, and over 10,000 miles of game travel, the Georgia Bulldog are your official 2023 National Champions!
-
I don't know. It doesn't matter if TCU lost by 1 or by 60. The results the same. Georgia will leave victorious, and TCU will not. The committee thought this team was one of the best four teams, and that's that. At the end of the day, it's just football. Life continues

What a very lovely football game!
-
The only chance Tampa has in winning the second round is if Minnesota beats New York
-
38-7 looks like an ugly score. However? Man, it's only halftime
-
I guess I'll listen to whatever the halftime team says in terms of "What TCU needs to do to win make it competitive" though leads from Georgia teams aren't safe. Except this isn't the GOAT of teams

First Before Right: The Adam Schefter Story

So the closing line is basically similar to the opening line. It's 13.5 in favor of Georgia. Over/Under is 62.5. TCU does just enough to cover, but that's it. Georgia might not need TCU for the over to hit as they repeat as champs. Georgia wins 41-28

If he's on the sidelines, then Buffalo will pretty much get that bye the 2 seeds used to have this time 3 years ago
-
Arizona has never had a HC last over a half dozen years. No way I should've or will call them Steelers WEST anymore
-
Exactly. I think Seattle also has the ammo for Young

I can actually see the Giants beating the Vikings. 2 Teams headed into opposite directions, though the NFC South winner has a negative point differential. Amazing how they were almost a 2 seed. I'm still pissed about the Chargers. I don't think it's happening, but I'd love to see the Chargers boot Staley for a nice upgrade (Payton, Harbaugh), but only if they lose to Jacksonville. There's no reason to play people when your seed is secured. Nobody cares about the "We not afraid of the injury jinx" nonsense. Hope that Williams & Bosa are okay; at least Herbert is fine
