The Pittsburgh Steelers are basically an organization that zigs while everyone else zags. There are several examples, but to get to the point, they don't retire numbers. Instead, they will not re-issue a number from a great

I'll respond to why I picked Vegas later. To be honest, had I waited until later to pick the Week 16 games, I definitely would have forgone picking the Steelers/Raiders game (which I was thinking of doing yesterday while leaning toward Pittsburgh for the obvious). I also didn't get a chance to reply to the discussion of Steelers retiring numbers. To be brief, I actually share the take of someone in the business on that. The Steelers were actually planning to honor Franco on Saturday (not Sunday), with the anniversary date being this Friday. I don't know what to add that's not already going to be said & that hasn't already been said. Naturally, I echo all of their statements. Not what I was planning on learning this morning.

Doesn't help that Pittsburgh is 6-8. Furthermore, a ton of (modern) Steelers fans weren't even born when Franco's moment happened. FWIW, 15 years removed, I don't think there was anyone on the roster that was alive. The people that would be more tuned in and "pumped" up for it might skip since it might not be ideal weatherwise
  4. Marshall tops Connecticut 28-14 but still a pretty good year for UCONN. For the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, I'll pick Eastern Michigan over SJSU, and for the Boca Raton Bowl, I have Toledo over Liberty.

Very early picks. It's Week 16: Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Cleveland, Tennessee, Minnesota, Baltimore, Kansas City, Detroit, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Miami, LA Rams, Tampa Bay, LA Chargers There are about 7 or so games, maybe 8, that I plan to pick in terms of the spread and the over/under. I probably will not do that until Wednesday or Thursday at the earliest

They did, and the Rams got the hell out of 2022 and into 2023. Might be the record or close to it for the defending champions (27 teams still remain toward the postseason)

Jalen Hurts trending around doubtful to questionable for Saturday's big game at AT&T. Info recently breaking from ESPN's Adam Schefter. This is in the aftermath of Philadelphia's game; it's a shoulder injury
  9. Not a great Saturday; while "optimistic" I knew I wasn't going perfect in such a wild-card of a postseason. Think I went .500 meaning I should be 5-3. I didn't pick the Jackson State game, but I would've been wrong anyway. I was hoping to have everything thru the weekend now, but all I can predict is Marshall beathing Connecticut this afternoon. Still great stuff by both schools. I should have everything (game before Christmas later today or tomorrow), and then the remaining bowl games by the end of the week (possibly the non New Year Six stuff first and then NY6 stuff afterwards)

You know, Cris Collinsworth brought up a valid point as it relates to Tampa and Tom. Could be Cris being himself and pimping Brady like he's done for decades. However, it is fair to think about it. The Bucs look horrible, but maybe they don't need to look great. They will get a home game, (probably against Dallas). If they beat them, it's not impossible that they somehow run over Philadelphia, Minnesota, or even San Francisco. The Niners, well, just crushed them, but one decade ago, Denver did the same thing, as a road team, to Baltimore. You might not have to look up info on the aftermath for both the Broncos and the Ravens that season. You just never know with TB12, per Collinsworth, and he's right. It's unlikely, but the AFC South is horrible, so there might not be any urgency yet. Plus, they looked very good against Cincinnati until they didn't

Close close for Washington but no cigar. Dallas becomes the 6th team into the postseason

You know, there were a lot of "NFL RIGGED" posts on Twitter to where it was trending. Meh. I'm more in the lines of saying it's "scripted". I'm not signing a petition nor am I going to court to prove it. Not a big deal for me (plus no one's winning that). However, it is a fair statement based on the following...

As much as it'll suck if it's Amazon, no way I'd be surprised. TBH I'd have been pissed a couple decades ago. I've moved from Sunday Ticket to RedZone. Love commercial-free content

Who Dat! By the way, maybe Belichick was thinking the Buggles but that's stuff the Jets/Cowboys would fall victim to against the Pats throughout this Century

Fuck New England. TB too. The past 21 years had a ton of potential, and someone was around way too long to wreck it. Meanwhile, Cincinnati/Buffalo the AFC winner might bring Dallas and San Francisco back to their winning ways!

AFC North > NFC South. A chance to go 15-1 unless something GOATLY happens. Ravens have a date with the Falcons, while Cleveland has a date hosting New Orleans Finest

Whatever happens, Burrow and Cincy get the other half of what WRECKED dominated or were tops of the National Football League over the past one-fifth of a century next weekend at Foxborough. That's the sentence.

Things aren't spectacular for Tennessee. Jacksonville might actually take the AFC South and I wouldn't been shocked to see Vrabel exit. Though to be fair, Tennessee wouldn't be in the playoff picture in an eight-team division (unless the AFC South and NFC South were one)

Speaking of Dallas, they had 3 ways to clinch a playoff spot. Now they'll need the Giants to win tonight. Speaking of the Giants, if they tie with Washington again, I'll laugh. Unlike fans of Arizona and the Rams. So Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and the Raiders all survived elimination. The Colts need the Chargers and Raiders to win. Really just one of those two. If they both lose, they're out
