Today would probably be a day to write off those teams that lose today & look bad doing so (except for Philadelphia & San Francisco). Real winners find ways to win and/or look good now that it's December
  2. So, I believe what we have so far are the following (New Years Six) Cotton Bowl: Missouri vs Ohio State Peach Bowl: Ole Miss vs Penn State Fiesta Bowl: Oregon vs Liberty Orange Bowl: Georgia vs Florida State Rose Bowl: Michigan vs Alabama Sugar Bowl: Washington vs Texas

Weather delay in Pittsburgh for the Steelers and Cardinals. Probably the most exciting part of the day or game. No joke though; this was speculated early in the morning in my area. Smart for the NFL and company to take precaution, but I don't expect the game to be cancelled or delayed to another day
  4. If Seminoles fans are upset, maybe they can cheer themselves up and go watch Georgia/TCU. That way they can relive what would have happened. Anthony isn't wrong. FSU should be in over Alabama. In fact, if it's anybody else (well save for Ohio State), Florida State is getting in. What's more upsetting, IMO, and as mentioned is that Michigan has to play Alabama right away. I would have moved Washington to the Top spot since you couldn't rank Bama over Texas. IDK. If I'm on the committee and my livelihood is at risk (to some extent), when you talk about the community, I think I'm more afraid of Alabama than Florida State

Fortunately there is a four-hour !?!??! Sunday Selection show on another network that'll be over in time for Niners/Eagles. Plus...there is the Tuscaloosa Police Scanner to tune into if/when necessary
  6. I'm going to go with Washington, Michigan, Florida State, and Texas for the tenth & final CFB Playoff in current format. In that order. That's just a prediction, I'm not going to know for sure before ESPN shows it with a graphic on TV. I'm sure someone will post the official stuff in some way when it's disclosed, but in case that doesn't happen or it's "incomplete" I'll get to it at some point sometime early in the afternoon. I think for the third time in the past dozen years, Alabama will miss out on a shot at the title by one spot. Of course during those other years, they were in the Title Game every time but one time (thanks to Ohio State) who I think will miss out by 2 spots. Ohio State, Oregon, Mizzou, and PSU should round out the Top 10. Mississippi should be good for a New Years Six bowl. Not sure about Oklahoma; if it's not them, so be it. I don't know if Liberty gets there, but SMU getting there is not the end of the world

While, on occasion, NFL games with an NFC visiting team & AFC visiting team end up on CBS and FOX, respectively, the only other channel you would have seen Eagles & 49ers was on NBC. It's FOX and nothing else. Yeah they recently had Cowboys/Niners on CBS within the past 2 years, but as good Bird/CD are, we know who would've been on the call in the even San Francisco & Philadelphia wound up on CBS. Jim & Tracy worked Dallas & San Francisco; felt like a blast to the past for me with Pat & John calling big NFC Games on CBS My winners picks include Denver, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Chargers, Carolina, New Orleans, Miami, Jets, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Kansas City, and Jacksonville. Those final four teams all cover. I do see the over hitting in the Eagles/Niners & Jaguars/Bengals games, while the under is the spot for the Rams/Browns game as well as the KC/Packers game Other than maybe the Bengals game 2 weeks from Saturday, I don't have any confidence that Pittsburgh wins anything else going forward starting tomorrow. Last week was refreshing, but they still have to do more offensively. The defense is great, but teams are still having their way at least once or twice. It only takes one point (or 2-3) to win if an offense does nothing. I might be wrong down the road for doing the following, but I'll stick a fork in Cleveland if they lose (and look bad). Unless Garrett is a non-factor, in which case I'll forgo doing so. Probably should anyway, we'll see. Eagles/Niners is not that easy to forecast. I can see either winning, but both probably need the DUB. Kansas City might not cover, but I think they will due to doing enough. Love has been better lately, but this defense is better than Detroit's defense. The extra rest & venue does help Green Bay though. Speaking of help, what helps Jacksonville is the venue and a Burrow-free game
  8. What's making me laugh is seeing "Sorry FSU" trending on twitter. Just something assuming about when you see a simple phrase as a trending topic
  9. I think this year, if the Tide were snubbed, would be the very, very, last time a meaningful postseason excluded the SEC. The last time in the history of the planet
  10. The CFB Playoff doesn't count if you leave out Texas, period. If the Longhorns are out, then Georgia & Ohio State are in. FSU getting in over Alabama means 51-1 (3 undefeated teams from the Big 10, Pac-12, and ACC) in terms of the record of teams playing in the CBF. While the following teams were much more inferior, it would be messed up if not losing was what got FSU in, but Central Florida (twice) and Cincinnati (twice in a way) were left out. There is still heat (at least from me) for putting TCU not only in, but over Ohio State, and what was next was the worst CBF title game in its history according to "everybody". Head to head is a big deal, but even without that, Texas has done enough to get in. They lost to Oklahoma, and they might've again, but Oklahoma State helped them out in several ways. I'm not sure what can happen to the committee, but I would not be shocked if the committee was done away with if they get it wrong for the second consecutive year. Probably get better people to choose the participants for the 12-team CBF playoff next season, or just have the writers make the call
  11. So long SEC, and congrats to your 2024 National Champions, the Texas Longhorns. Great momentum before bringing the sport down in 2024 after losses to Georgia and (even worse) Texas A&M
  12. No way the committee returns in 2024 if the SEC isn't represented. FWIW, they not only allowed TCU to participate last year, they didn't even drop them off of a loss!
  13. Well, I get credit for Washington's victory. I picked Oregon again for the win, but for the final Pacific 12 Championship game, picking Washington to cover was such an easy decision. When they were leading by double digits at one point & at a decent time, I knew that I was covering, even though I didn't know whether they'd win the game. I probably would've gone with Liberty but this isn't college hoops. Liberty winning in that sports would mean more. For my winners, I have the following teams doing that: Texas, Tulane, Georgia, Louisville, and Michigan. The only losers I have covering are Oklahoma State & Iowa. I'll go with the under for all the games except the Big 12 and SEC title game. For the other games, there are human being elsewhere on the planet that will win and lose money so those games will mean something to somebody

That statistic is worth a review. For the NFC, that's a vaild point. Especially with New York. They 2007 & 2011 teams lost to teams they'd achieve payback on, including Dallas & Green Bay. OTOH, San Francisco beats up on Green Bay all the time. In the AFC, it's different. For the most part, the team that wins in the regular season wins again in the postseason. It's less saving stuff and more winning all the time because the eventual winner is just simply much better
  15. Whoever wins the C-USA title game? Congrats to them. As for "meaningful" CFB, I actually do have Washington covering, but with an Oregon win, they might actually have to "sweat" out Saturday. Until Georgia win the final CBS SEC Championship Game

Well, Von Miller has officially been arrested. So much for being a HOF lock. Speaking of a lock, that's pretty much the case for Philadelphia for the postseason. I saw mixed results that they clinched it last week. In somewhat of a relation to my first sentence in this post, it could be a letdown against the Niners if they lose on Sunday. We'll see. I think I the Eagles might be tough to beat. Not just due to the venue, but the fact that they might need to win in order to have a decent hold on not just the top seed in the conference, but first place in their division

FYI: For the first time, the Monday Night Football flex comes into play, with New England/Kansas City being replaced by Seattle/Philadelphia. More info per ESPN. Also on that page is information related to 3 of the 5 games that were labeled as pending or candidates for a Saturday move for Week 15. Dallas can go to hell. Of course, when I actually find pleasure toward a win from them, they still win, but not by enough for it to count

Dallas for the win tonight. They cover and the over hits. Seattle doesn't even need to score to get there
  20. Not me. By the way, not sure we can call that Road Runner vs Wile E Coyote anymore. That's just my opinion, due to growing up with a basically winless Coyote opposite the RR. The only way you're getting Coyote winning is in WWE where it'll be scripted for Road Runner to lose there

Looks like Von Miller will be in police custody within 12 hours if he isn't already there. Despite the jokes on how he finally got a hit this year, Buffalo has been disappointing this season. Plus, no joke on what Von is a suspect for. Walking away is always a good start. There are no winners when it comes to domestic violence, period. BTW, I don't subscribe to the innocent until proven guilty crap. When it comes to breaking the law or bad behavior, it's you're a suspect until either convicted or acquitted.
  22. 100%. I still would not his blunder on the level of James, Ozzy, Andrea, and even Erik. I'd consider betting that Bruce knew he wasn't winning so it's not a big deal. The guy had no shot at winning the game; everyone else did. However, it's still being voted out with an idol in the pocket. FWIW, I would've preferred if he instead announced, "Tonight, I will be playing my idol." That probably does nothing since they'd split the votes, but it's better than basically requesting to be voted out. Heck, I'd be thrilled if he gave up his idol to someone realizing that he had no shot, and then really change the game. For instance, giving it to Emily outta nowhere and wrecking Reba. Gotta be arrogant & annoying (Julie isn't too bad). Plus, if Reba votes each other off with class somehow, then that might be a problem for Emily. No to mention the pettiness that someone that was winless for what felt like forever survived. As mentioned, Kellie was not happy about being booted, but like Tony confessed to Jeremy, she said on the spot it was her. Everyone else didn't so that could help
  23. Earlier, I said that Emily's comp is Sandra while Jake's comp is Penner. Of course, Jake having the anyone but me attitude trends toward Diaz-Twine. However that also trends toward Cirie. So, for me, there is a comparison between Cirie and Emily. Not completely since, well, just NO. However, one thing I thought of is while it wasn't great for Emily to make a move on Bruce, it's okay too. If Reba decided to spare Bruce since that's an easy win at F3, then Emily would be in trouble. That also means down the road, that alliance. Fields had to take out the one person that would get shut out at the Finals since she would've been booted in favor of that worthless cast member. Emily needed to be in the majority to have better confidence keeping him around. It might not have been her true reasoning, but it's fair enough. I'm probably taking out an easy worthless player or else it's me getting voted out
  24. While I still think Emily is not in much trouble, I do support the opinion that the opposite is the case. Forget hoping that she needs to win at Final 5; she might need to win next week. That can include or exclude Jake winning instead. Nobody's afraid of Katurah but Reba is not going to ruin their chances at the finals by turning on one of their own in favor of Katurah. Unless she's immune & have no choice. But yeah, Emily might have done something great, but in the wrong way & wrong person. Not sure who's voting for her for seven figures right now, especially with people like Julie & Dee in the game
