When I thought of a then chance of a future wild card playoff series, I think I always thought/figured that it would make sense to have the home team host there for all three games. That's fair enough; this time 15 years ago, the team with the second best record among non-division winners didn't even make it, and the 6th place team is new to Major League Baseball. I still think they should throw a double header within the WC series, but instead of the first two games, make it Games 2-3, since Game 3 may not be needed

Mike Tomlin has a shit team, period. I have to put time & effort toward a decent, substantial post about it, so I'm not going to rant on it here. Might be fitting to do it on Sunday/Monday. A reason (or reasons) why the problem is what it is is due to being cheap, inconsistency, and procrastination at a level similar to a school student waiting until the eleventh hour to complete a paper or prep for an exam. The pass the man gets is too extreme and that's the frustration amongst the fans of Pittsburgh. The best chance right now of his exit being sooner rather than later is if the records show how bad it is. It needs to be very, very bad both in 2022 and in 2023 Edited to clarify whose post I was responding to as Danielg's post showed up outta nowhere right before mine which would've been just under mojoween's reply

He’s coming out of the game now (bottom third). I think he definitely was active earlier this afternoon, but who knows what'll happen tomorrow. If they want to survive, advance, and topple maybe Houston, a long layoff isn't a great idea

Now do they bench him now or see if he can or cannot get to 63 plus?

I think Tom said he wanted to play until he was 45, and this season is his 45-year old season. The retiring/unretiring thing was not cool (and I was actually pissed about it when it started BTW). However, that 40-day stretch was a time when Brady was still 44. Anyway, that aside, you can't flip flop like that in a marriage. I don't know whether the following would've led to a separation, but TB12 would've been better off being a man and saying he's playing this year. He's under contract & doesn't want to bail. Just tell the truth; be honest. BTW, I thought Gisele was done in terms of her career. She's made a ton herself. I don't know how much more that would've changed for a 42-year old. At the end of the day, I guess a baby-sitter wasn't in the cards. So, while I said what I said, I would have to side with the wife here if the husband flip-flopped. But I'd do the opposite if the dude was forthcoming. It might work; it might not. While it's easier said than done, take the chance

I'm not even watching anymore. I mean I could, but it's just blah for me. For three reasons A: It's not at home 2: The AL exclusive record drained me all weekend one, and... D: I don't benefit financially or gain time from it If he get it, that's great. I'll see the lukewarm reaction & highlights and then get ready for the MLB Postseason. Though I am ready for it today (may have started today in most other seasons)

Corrected that for you, NUguy. You're welcome. I get the hate for Bosa. While I don't share it, I totally see it. Part of why I don't hate the guy is how he boasted & trolled Baker Mayfield three years ago. That put a smile on my face. The other thing is the guy can and has hustled. Definitely a very good player. What he does or how he is outside of the sport means nothing to me. Not just him, but that goes for everybody in the NFL and in other sports. In brief, what you see on the field, court, rink, or course isn't (necessarily) the same as off of it. If San Francisco wins their sixth superbowl, I'll be happy for Shanahan, Jimmy G, Jed York, and that's about it. Everyone else? Meh. As for the Tom & Gisele stuff nittany cougar posted, I don't know what to think. In general it is sad, since it may have been at the point where it was "Til death do us part" given how long they were together. The fact that two juggernauts were a married couple for that long is amazing. I guess it is what it is, plus Brady playing until further notice. I don't know how credible Page Six is (compared to TMZ and the like) but might as well prolong the inevitable. I'm not Tom Brady or close to it, but if my wife said you have to quit in order to stay married, I'd be the one pursuing divorce (right away). No one should be quitting what they love to do, especially when it's legal and resulting in a lot of money AND if you're doing it at a prime level

Okay, so now I know why Tom Brady got "work" done over the summer. It's still questionable, but you have to do what you have to do to be the better looking quarterback during the game on December 11

I think I finally got it right in terms of picking Niners/Rams games (after being wrong for 4 years). The NFCCG had the potential to go either way, but given the success the former 5-Time Super Bowl champions have had against the reigning champions, this felt rather easy. Plus it was at home & Los Angeles hasn't been as dominant

  14. I think I was surprised about Paul Chryst's dismissal, but only for a second. It must have been tough for Wisconsin & Chryst to part ways. That's one of their own. It's more probable than not that the Badgers were going to finish with a winning record, and BTW, that's been the case since Paul was running the program. FWIW, they weren't going to beat Ohio State this year. They weren't going to beat Michigan either, or Penn State. That's in reference to the B1G Title Game. They're okay, one of the better programs. Unlike Michigan, TPTB did not stick with their guy to see if they could make it happen. Doesn't help losing to Illinois & the former coach. I don't think it was that big of a deal since the teams that blew them out are decent. I don't know or think they're going to do much better in Wisconsin than Paul Chryst, but when things get stale, change is inevitable

I'm sorry, but it is just unacceptable when the Defense goes from hero to zero over the absence of one guy
  16. The 5th AP Poll (as opposed to pool, as I misspelled it a couple weeks ago), released over an hour ago as of this post, has the Top 5 remaining as Top 5 teams. This time, and this year (ahead of a possible SEC Title Game clash), Alabama regained the Top Spot over Georgia. Oklahoma State, sorta obtaining revenge over Baylor, moves up within the Top 10. Penn State & Ole Miss enter the Top Ten, following the former's struggle against Northwestern and the latter basically swapping places with Kentucky. USC & Tennessee remain where they are. A lot of movement within the middle of the rankings (11-20), and the bottom five within the Top 25 feature a third of a dozen teams new to the Rankings (Syracuse, Mississippi, Cincinnati, and LSU). Reigning conference champs Baylor & Pittsburgh finally fell out along with Florida & Texas A&M. Not surprising, PITT was the only team that received zero votes among the teams that fell out. Maybe don't lose to Georgia Tech at home. The weather wasn't a big excuse as Penn State found a way to win, and they were dealing with tough conditions. I probably should've stayed away from that game since the sad part of G-Tech firing everybody before the game meant a chance for G-Tech to regroup. Of course, Nebraska had a chance against Oklahoma but barfed, which is typical given the fact that I picked the Cornhuskers (unlike Georgia Tech), and only after that do the Sooners fall flat on their faces. For the second consecutive year, Texas A&M falls down below Earth as they "looked ahead" toward Alabama in a primetime game where a win would wreck the Tide toward championship success. It's a current A&M team against Bama again. The only difference is that it's in Tuscaloosa, though that's offset by Young's injury

It would be a shame if people that tuned into to see it ended up missing it. When 61 happened, it was during a period where there was a ton happening. Since it may not happen at home (today's the last day), it might not be worth it to see it

So, not many people, if even that, predict injuries as a reason to go the opposite way from the chalk. I hate to say it, but if I had to bet on it, it'll happen at Acrisure. Someone's going down, and it will not be good. The field at the former Heinz Field has been a mess since Day One, and there was a game last night, and in awful weather conditions. No way they prepare it that fast to safe conditions. Could be bad news for the Steelers and/or the Jets. Hats off to Mike Pereira, having to be up so damn early for the broadcast's rules analyst on a Sunday. Well, similar to last Saturday for the collegiate Week 4, non-available for Week 4 of the NFL. Taking the day off. While looking forward to the latest AP Pool and Judge 62 (or not) I probably might keep an eye on Packers/Patriots & Bucs/Chiefs, but that's it. RedZone isn't an option this week, a decent one, so I can't even tune into Buffalo/Baltimore instead of Pittsburgh/New York. Man, what a nice start to a 15-hour NFL Sunday!

Well the Vikings escape. Minnesota survives following an exciting game that came down to a barely missed FG thanks to a missed PAT

I had to laugh when the NFL pimped Packers/Patriots as Rodgers vs Belichick. No one that plays the game is worth that featured spot On an unrelated note, exciting finish possible in Vikings/Saints!

Yeah, hats off to Andrew Luck getting out when he did. With Brady there a little bit longer + Mahomes surge, it wasn't going to happen in terms of a title. That doesn't even factor in the following years with Jackson, Allen, Burrow, etc making noise. I thought back to Barry Foster. While I think Pittsburgh in the 90s was closer than Indianapolis was in the past decade, with proper saving & the position Foster played, I think he was okay going forward. He got his money + a decent life moving forward

Hope you enjoyed the party because the game sucked. 😉 I can't speak for America, but I think we might have been better off if ESPN and company broke into College Football to show 60 seconds of your party once every 25-45 minutes (if they had to break into meaningful games)
  24. I think if Georgia Tech's lead holds AND Georgia's deficit remains as such as the fourth quarter clocks show triple zeros that God owns Vegas and runs the casinos
  25. Final stuff for the late slate: I didn't pick LSU/Auburn. The Tigers of Auburn shouldn't lose by more than 7 points, but that's their moral victory. The Tigers of LSU will not surpass the Over, and even with support from the 2010 National Champions, 44.5 plus doesn't happen. The spread is still Clemson favored by 7, likely the final one before kickoff. The Tigers of Clemson will cover that easily; heck, they'll get the over by themselves. Ditto to Georgia. 30.5 for the spread is not enough. USC is favored by 25.5. I actually don't think they cover, but it'll be close. Over should hit I believe. Oregon will win IMO, but Stanford will cover. I'll go with the under 62.5
