True, but they could have had the ceremony in Mexico before she left with her family, who appear more invested in their relationship than his.  Granted, the ceremony in Mexico doesn’t have to be legal for immigration purposes.  They could just see a justice of the peace in the US.

Like all of these 90 day relationships, I think this is a test drive.  Regardless, Jonathan should know the wedding is more important to her than him and accommodate accordingly.  But then I don’t think he cares, just worried more is keeping her under his control.

THIS ^^^^^.  Thank you@LGGIRL, this is exactly what I keep thinking every time their segment is on.  It's rude of him to make her family miss this important event they've looked forward to her entire life.  There should be a big beautiful wedding ceremony & reception in Mexico FIRST and then a smaller ceremony in Chicago to satisfy legal requirements.  This is the only thing that makes sense, especially since Jonathan's mom is not supportive of this marriage.

  2. I followed Colt & Larissa on Instagram for exactly 24 hours before I decided I needed to unfollow these crazy narcissistic fame whores.  The news of Larissa leaving behind 3 kids came out in that same 24 hours and it's what helped me realized these are truly despicable people.  Make no mistake, he is enjoying the attention just as much as she is.

Help me. I can't get 'Bith Phtew" out of my head and keep cackling to myself here at work. There's no explaining this to other people, not at all.

What does it mean??  I have even Googled it and can't find any meaning... Help!

  5. I was so disturbed by Eric's apartment & attitude, I could barely sleep last night after watching the show. I want Leida to run back to her family so badly and it's killing me that her pride is standing in the way of her admitting she has made a horrible mistake. She needs to think of her son- Eric has already shown a creepy tendency to take possession of Allesandro at all times and always be touching him.  Not saying that alone makes Eric a pedophile- just saying it's a big ol' orange flag of something being wrong.

So on the live show, Eric's daughter admitted 50% of the mess was hers... like it was no big deal and he was using her as a total scapegoat.  Well, 50% of a garbage dump is simply a smaller garbage dump. Not excusing Eric, who is ultimately to blame but that place was gross on such a level that I was still appalled by her dismissive attitude toward her contribution of the mess.  In who's world would 50% of that pigsty be acceptable??  Again- not trying to take the blame away from Eric... just saying the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

PS- when the daughter said she was out of town at a convention for 4 days, who else pictured a camo-clad gun-toting assembly of rednecks?  ...Or was it just me visualizing that?

Like when you bring a new cat home from the shelter. They can have stomach issues. I get the feeling that Colty and Debbie would be a lot more generous with their cats' stomachs and health than with Larissa's comfort.

Haha, YES- EXACTLY. @queenjen!!!  As I am the mom of 2 rescue kitties, and I am a busy volunteer for a local nonprofit cat rescue group, I could not have said it better myself!!!  =^.^=

  7. OK, I gotta get in on this Beef Stew convo... Agreed with everyone that it's a totally bizarre thing to offer in the scorching Vegas heat. Why were there no other options?- some fruit, some cheese, a rotisserie roast chicken from the market, a simple rice pilaf, maybe a nice salad...After travelling a person's stomach can be sensitive, so offer simple things to ease them into the new environment.  And the next day when Colt was eating the stew, ugghhh - it looked awful.  Unappetizing brown sludge (and I happen to like beef stew in general, but that was the worst looking beef stew in the history of beef stew).

The bigger question is why-oh-why do none of the Americans cater to their foreign fiance's food preferences??  Like, why did Eric force feed Lieda & Sister Leida breakfast burritos on their first morning?  Why not learn how to make porridge so they have something familiar?  That would have been a gracious gesture.

Larissa keeps referring to the Vegas she sees on t.v., and how it just doesn't look like that.

Actually, Vegas looks exactly like it does on t.v.  You have to go out to the places they film on t.v. to see that, but I'd be willing to bet that Colt has never set foot in a nice casino, a great Vegas steakhouse, or seen a wonderful Vegas show.

He should have arranged for a true "Vegas night" within her first week.  Could have started with an afternoon of shopping at Caesar's or Venetian, a spa treatment at Aria, and an evening on the strip, the millions of lights, the casino noise, the fun crowds.

Instead, she's stuck on floor 2 of the most depressing, plainest house, with an obese cat (yes, they do need to put that poor cat on a diet), where mother Debbie Downer made dog food look good next to her beef stew.

Oh, and homes with pools are very rare in Vegas.  10 or so years ago, it was mandated that homes are not even allowed to be built with yards, only pebble/rock landscaping, due to water supply issues.  So pools.....nope, go to the strip.  Oh wait, Colt doesn't realize Vegas has a strip.

I soooo agree with this- he really should have driven on the strip as a way to welcome her to Vegas.  There is so much to see, and I quick drive past the huge properties would have been a great teaser for a future evening out on the town, where they could walk through the casinos and hotel lobbies on foot.  I'd stay away from shopping, though, because we all know he would not buy her a damn thing and those malls you mention have some incredibly pricey designer stores.

That's good info on Vegas homes, but Vegas does have an expansive amount of homes with pools- maybe not built in the last 10 years (I hadn't known about that mandate, but I'm trusting you know this topic well).  I love all the mid-century modern neighborhoods that are in Vegas, and many do have pools.  And plus, even if homes don't have individual pools, wouldn't many of them be built in areas which have a community pool?  I would have to believe Dolt's home is in one of these communities (it looked similar to a neighborhood my friend lived in, located in Summerlin).... no?

Since I wrote that, i've learned that Kalani is PISSED with the 90DF producers. She is saying that she was set up at the airport, that the producers had asked Asuelu to do the dance for her and he'd forgotten or was told not to tell her by the producers. She'd spoken with Asuelu the night before he arrived and had no idea this was coming. The look on her face, she is saying, is fury at the producers. Not at Asuelu.

Furthermore, she is saying that her Dad has got a terrible edit to make him look racist and self hating. She is threatening to pull out, or was. This is all news to me, as I'm only watching 90DF for the first time this season, as it's been recommended by a lot of podcasters and recappers I like. She is using words like 'white washing' and 'racist'. She has apparently been warned by the producers about speaking out like this. Not sure what they can do to her at this point, maybe they hold part of her payment until the season airs, I don't know. I have never visited this site before and I'm out of my comfort zone with this show and what sites are accurate for information, but here's the link:

    https://soapdirt.com/90-day-fiance-kalani-faagata-asuela-accuses-tlc-of-race-baiting-whitewashing-airport-incident/

Have to say, I'm loving the show so far and i'll be watching the previous seasons as recommended by others here.

Wow- I found a similar news article.  Veeerrrrry interesting.  The mod may take down your post since it might be considered a spoiler - so just FYI.  Spoilers are allowed on the threads for each couple, but not on episode threads.  Welcome to this shitshow that we are all addicted to!  It's definitely my guilty pleasure and I love all the snark on these forums!

The hardest thing for Asuealo would be the lack of welcome from the family, don't underestimate that. And Kalani's Dad would have understood that PERFECTLY. (Samoa is almost 6k kms from Australia, it's north east from us).

I am willing to bet that if Kalani and Oliver came to Samoa to visit Asuelo's family, the whole extended family would be waiting for them at the airport and there would be a huge gathering to welcome them. The lack of community may do Asuelo in. The Samoan families I've encountered here are close knit with strong family values. Obviously, you can't make sweeping generalisations about anyone, but the difference in pace of life and value systems between America and Samoa is massive and I fear for Asuelo as isolation is a killer. Kalani's Dad is coming off as an asshole, but I think also he of all people is aware of just how intense the cultural differences are between the 2 countries.

Your post is really insightful, @queenjen.  Thank you for sharing.  You've made me think about this couple's dynamic a lot more.

At first I liked how protective Kalani's dad seemed - because he wants more for his daughter than a village boy can probably provide.  Nothing wrong with that in principle.  And if Asuelu isn't Mormon (I have no idea if he is or isn't), then there would be a difference in religion, as well, and that can present even more challenges.  Of course, Kalani did herself no favors by sharing with her family about Asuelu hooking up with another woman.  I get it- they are all disappointed in the entire situation.  But the fact remains Asuelo is Kalani's baby daddy, and I am truly hoping they understand it's their collective responsibility to try and create a atmosphere that helps keep this family together.  They don't have to like the situation, but they should put those feelings aside for the sake of little Oliver.  So I am hoping her dad (and rest of family) realize that and be more hospitable to Asuelu, who is really going to need a support system in this strange new world....  Now the question is, will they be reasonable & compassionate people?  Or will we see they are just going to bring the drama for the sake of a 90DF paycheck?

I think Asuelu's very sweet. And Khalani does not want to marry him. She has has major second thoughts. He was fine for a vacation hookup, but here in California? He's an embarrassment to her. She's going to passive aggressively find fault with everything he says and does. She'll shame him for his lack of worldliness and be mortified by him. She'll roll her eyes when he jokes around or takes joy in anything. ("Honey, you're just so loud!") She's already turned her family against him. She wants him gone. She knows that he wants to try and make a go of it with her and be a father to their son, so she has to hope that the collective charm and warmth of her family (ha!), along with her constant criticism and corrections will drive him away. Then she can be a heroic single mother and talk smack about her horrible ex.

I think you are spot on- and I feel really bad for Asuelu.  I originally liked Khalini because she seems pretty normal, but upon watching more it's apparent she's really immature for a 30 year old.  He is in a no win situation.

I suspect money would mean more to Adrian if he had to start paying for his own ingredients. I love Adrian, but money having no meaning is an over-idealized sentiment. Money pays rent, buys food, and pays for your transportation. It doesn’t have to be a priority, but you do need it to live.

I am sort of loving Kate this year: “This is why I don’t do threesomes. Someone always gets left out.”

I know people like Adrian (not many, but a few), and they are totally happy sleeping in a van, cooking over a portable camping stove, very little material possessions.  I totally cannot relate.  I am not a materialistic person, but money means a lot to me.

That line from Kate might be the best line all season!

  13. Seriously Chandler? - you haven't made out a break/sleep schedule, there's still work to be done on deck, and you go take a nap? Then later you end your shift after leaving Rhylee with all the remaining work? ...This guy is a total moron. A good leader shares the workload with his crew, gives clear direction, and tells them what is expected of them.  Being the boss does not mean you get extra time resting in your cabin.

Rhylee has a loud mouth and I find her annoying & obnoxious, but as so many of you have pointed out, at least she is a really hard worker.  She was totally wrong to speak (yell) at Chandler the way she did on their first night out, and I think she should apologize for it because it's clear he's punishing her for speaking out of line the way she did.  Chandler simply doesn't know how to manage a team of people.  He is in over his head.

Team Ross.  I like his calm demeanor.

  14. I'm just happy no one needs a language translation app to communicate with their fiance this season... proving my expectations are so low it doesn't take much to make me happy anymore.  But honestly, I'm quite pleased with the cast of characters. It's not a complete shit show- maybe just 60% shit show. This is a huge step up from the last 'Before the 90 Days'.

I find Kalani not so bad.  She's young & idealistic but she speaks intelligently and she comes from a family with a nice home & a father who cares.  On this story, I think we'll witness her struggles integrating a simple village guy into her SoCal life and there won't be a ton of drama.  For all the other couples, oh yeah- it's going to be messy, ugly, and embarrassing for all of them.  Being an animal lover, I am hoping the entire season may be worth it when (I hope) Colt sends Larissa packing so he can go back to fawning over his cats.

The parents, especially Wendy, are adamantly, irrationally opposed to Charlotte's emancipation?? You have got to be kidding me.

Along with the reasons the others have pointed out, it occurs to me that If Charlotte is no longer under Marty & Wendy's protection as their child, then the FBI can use her as a witness against them.  Charlotte has consistently shown remarkably bad judgement (not unusual for someone her age), including this newest demand.
