  1. I just binged the 1st 4 episodes of S2, and wow...I'm very underwhelmed.  What a major disappointment.  What happened to this show?  Did they change writers?  Or was it just a one hit wonder?  I am not even the slightest bit intrigued or entertained by any of the story lines, so I'm hoping things turn around pronto.

  2. I'm still watching and I'm glad we've been seeing a more human side to Kyle... psycho, yes, but it's nice to see emotion from a character who was so guarded he seemed robotic.  Also glad to see Megan's original agent back- love her.  I'm just really NOT a fan of Megan at all.  I don't know if it's bad acting or bad directing, but I find her character always acts too smug & confident for a typical actress.  Also hate to be superficial but that mole on her forehead drives me crazy.  It's all I look at.

I really want to see more of a human side to Terence, and I am intrigued on what the "real purpose" of the contract might end up being.

  3. I loved the scene where Megan learns all the details from Lizbeth about how/who/why she was poisoned and what all of her symptoms were and how Lizbeth confirmed it was indeed poison.  - Oh wait, that didn't happen.

Hmmm ...Then I loved the scene where Megan comforted Lizbeth and heard the story of how doctors have now diagnosed her with permanent memory impairment as a result of the poisoning.  - Oh wait, that did happen, either.

Okay ...Then I loved the scene where the two gals compared notes with each other, and Lizbeth answered all of Megan's burning questions about why Kyle will never escape the evil clutches Terrance and his Institute of the Higher Mind.  - Oh wait, none of this happened!

What happened in the scene?  It abruptly cut off and the story jumped 2 months into the future.  Because...???

yes the twist could be that Annie kills Deja and Beth  ETA: that would be a big twist since the little girl who plays Annie is the cutes. sweetest little girl who would be unimaginable as a future murderer

LOLOLOLOL.  That kid can kill with her sheer cuteness.

Adult Kate is selfish beyond belief, and younger Kate had a creepy and inappropriate relationship with her father (which Saint Jack encouraged to her detriment). All he ever seemed to be doing with her was stuffing her with cake and ice cream and constantly telling her that she was the greatest, most perfectly wonderful, awesomest creature on Earth. No wonder she's on a permanent ego trip.

Thank you! I have really had it with how self absorbed Kate is (Kevin, too, but he has humorous moments which balance out his character a little more).   I cringe when Kate is on screen because her story is always "me-me-me" and obsessing over her father.   It got old for me a long time ago.

  6. Since the flash forwards of Randall & Tess are just of them, I have a hunch Deja may be in prison for killing Beth & Annie (accidentally? fit of rage?).  But that might be too easy of an answer, and I would guess there will be a twist.  But I am afraid two of them are dead and the third is responsible.

  7. Catty comment alert:  Sorry, but whenever Megan is on screen, I can't stop focusing on how she has the body of a 12-yr old boy with D-cup implants.  She reminds me of Nicole Richie when NR was at her thinnest (although I think NR has no implants).  Christine Evangelista's fake boobs are disproportionately large for her tiny frame, and it looks so wrong & unbalanced.

  8. Wow, am I in the minority?  I actually enjoy this show and think she's giving these gals (and their mothers) some very useful information.  Like her or not, she's well connected and I think she's found a good fit.  Opportunist?- Absolutely.  She is willing to do whatever it takes to maintain the lifestyle she enjoys, and I imagine she envisions a long career on reality TV.  I've come to the conclusion everyone one reality TV is a despicable person- sometimes we don't see it until the 2nd or 3rd season (and that was the case for me with her on RHOBH), but I've gotten over it.  I love seeing her slap some of the mothers around because they have ideals that are unreasonable for their unestablished daughter-models, and I like her teaching the girls practical lessons that will help their careers.  I'm happy there are no eliminations, and that the decision at the end will be based on the cumulative experience (and probably which gal is the most bookable in real life, because after all, she IS all about making money).  Lastly, I enjoy seeing the modeling photos at the end.  I dunno, I guess I'm a pretty simple person, but I really like this show.

You may be right that David had a low or no sex drive. But that is precisely why they need to have a discussion before marriage. If they were already sexually active, they would have a good idea of the other's level of sexual interest, but because they have not had sex, they can't gauge this to see if they are comparable. Evelyn appears to have a healthy interest in sex and is looking forward to this experience. If David is frigid he should tell her before the marriage.  If Evelyn wants to screw like a rabbit, it will not be a happy marriage if David if a dead fish in bed.

THIS ^^^!!!  Thank you, Desert Rat!!!  ...It really doesn't matter if David Spain is gay, straight, asexual, traumatized from a past experience, or anything else (well, I mean, of course it matters, but is not is not something we are likely to ever learn).  What is important is that Evelyn is expecting a husband who is comfortable showing his physical desire toward her.  Everything is not always kismet merely because penis goes into vagina.  It takes communication - LOTS - as well as a sense of humor & sense of adventure.  David Spain is so uptight he's unwilling to discuss it even a little bit.  What hope is there for Evelyn???  She's too young & inexperienced to determine if a lackluster sex life may or may not be okay with her.  It's lame of David Spain to throw it back at her and tell her she should maybe talk about it with her pastor, but I personally hope she does.  I would hope a good pastor would say, "hmmm, this may be an area of concern."

  10. David Spain's issues were not about the camera crew being there, because Evelyn admitted to her mom he's shut-down any conversation about it in the past.  He was so uncomfortable with the subject that he had to physically leave the room.  He is hiding something big that has suppressed all healthy sexual urges he should feel.  And Evelyn seems like she's going to be a wildcat in the bedroom.

  11. Just think of all the GOOD these people could do with their money if they had any awareness & compassion to help relieve suffering that's going on in the world.

Jackie clearly has a mental illness & I was sick from the gross display of consumer gluttony.  Spend a couple million at each auction?  Filling up semi-trucks at a time?  Breeding her dogs & giving the puppies as gifts?  ...Nothing is sacred.  She seemed pretty insecure & downright *dim*, and her husband David reminded me of a wannabe Hugh Hefner.  I don't think Leah enjoyed the interactions with him - she simply knows how to play the game around rich vulgar men.  They say gross things & she laughs so no one is outwardly embarrassed.  Later Jackie's comment that David didn't talk much about the meeting & was "more horny last night than anything" showed how socially clueless these people are.  Yeah, I get they are swingers & engage in lots of activity, but put a lid on it when the film crew is there, will ya?!

Very happy that Megan is now having THs, and I laughed outright when Jenni stated in her TH: "I'd be more nervous than a whore in church to take this job on."

Unlike others here, I do believe Jeff was open to taking on Jackie as a client, but that was before he went to Florida and got a glimpse that this was no-win situation.  Jackie was never going to stop buying crap and Jeff would ultimately have no authority.  That house will never get any further along than it is now- and like many have pointed out, it seemed pretty much at the same point it was years ago when the documentary was filmed.  It's a hobby project for Jackie and she lacks the focus to complete it.

I wonder what determines whether it is a one or two day challenge? There doesn't seem to be any correlation with how complex the challenge is!

I'd guess it is based on the production schedule and/or if Heidi has a commitment preventing her from filming on a particular day.

Maddie seemed to insinuate that Patrick is already married?  Anyone?

She jumped to that conclusion after she asked and he didn't immediately deny it.  She's a con artist, so she's at expert at reading people and believed his silence was a tell-tale sign that he was indeed married.  I think he was just trying to be smart and not give her too much info about his personal life.   He seemed a little annoyed later when he said, "I never told you I was married."  She shot back, "you never denied it."... something like that, at least.

Funny that Maddie is waiting around Seattle, looking totally like herself.  You'd think she'd put on a hat or cut her hair or slap a wig on or something because she has to know that the Doctor is going to be coming for her (not to mention everyone looking for her).

Yeah- funny she didn't at least have a baseball cap on, but I don't think she was staying in Seattle.  I think she was tempted to join the group on the bus, but smartly chose not to.  After their bus departed, I assumed she was heading into the terminal to buy her own ticket somewhere to start over fresh.... probably taking several different modes of transportation until she finally finds a very random location she feels will be safe.

Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. I think Levi is drop-dead gorgeous, she reminds me a little of Audrey Tautou in her Amelie days. (Although I recently read an interview with her that made it clear she was surprised to be cast because she didn't think she was beautiful enough to play Maddie.)

I thought the 15-year-old they cast as young Maddie was not a match lookswise, let's say. Interviews with the showrunners called the bit with her cousin "a make-out session" but I distinctly heard pants being unbuckled/zipped before he said "You've done this before?" so...uh, I assumed they took it further (esp. the smash-cut to him grinning at the dinner table.)

I'm also in the camp that the actress who plays Maddie is drop dead gorgeous.  I think she has a quality that is mesmerizing, yet uniquely relate-able at the same time.  I truly believe she was perfectly cast for the role. ... That said, I was surprised how underwhelming I found her to be in her finale wedding dress.

The whole scene with her cousin grossed me out.  I wish they hadn't taken it there.

I agree!!!!  I love this show!!!!

The great thing is... season 2 can go in so many different directions.  Will the 3 amigos be the primary characters, with the assumption Maddie got to start over somewhere (outside of the grifter life)?, will we see more of Patrick?, will we learn that Sally is actually alive somewhere?, will it be revealed the Doctor had in informant in the FBI all along?... just thoughts on how the writers can take the story forward.  It will be hard to wait to find out...!

  16. I'm loving this show.  I find it so refreshing how the plot keeps twisting so we don't know what's to come, and the way the writers have inserted comedy into the episodes & the characters.  I'm intrigued about Ezra's participation, and the way the show's now revealing he's deeper into the con than they had us originally believe.  Who's on the team, and who's out for themselves? - every grifter knows to never trust another grifter.  At the heart of it, they all know each of the others is working their own angle.  I love it.

What I don't care for is this mysterious doctor who is supposedly in charge of the operation.  And how they all refer to him as The Doctor.  Really?- It just seems so corny to me.  He's a surgeon, he's a confidence mastermind, he's a ruthless murderer who kills off anyone who crosses him.  Every time he's on screen I find myself annoyed with his character and the way the writers want us to be afraid of him.... But he is rarely on screen, so I'm happy about that.

And I must say, I think the actress who plays Maddie is just hands down gorgeous.  She's a great actress, too.  I have never seen her in anything before, and I think she was cast perfectly for this role.  Actually, I think they all were.

The assumptions I'm seeing are this:

Sheldon is supposedly a sweetheart.  Therefore his food is the best and he is the most deserving of the win.  Brooke is supposedly smug and full of herself (something I personally don't see and think is a very subjective, superficial judgment at best) so therefore her food isn't all that great and therefore she doesn't deserve to come back from LCK or win.  This is the distinct impression I'm getting overall.

Wrong. No one is saying Sheldon should win because he's a sweetheart.  He is a kick-ass chef, that's why he should win. The fact that he's a sweetheart just makes me want it even more for him.

Shirley is also a powerhouse. I personally think she is 2nd to Sheldon, but only by a hair. I like her spunk, too, and enjoy her commentary.

Brooke is an enormously talented chef as well, but I find her dishes less exciting, so I put her as third.  I don't think she's smug. I'm sure she's a kind and compassionate person. She just doesn't display the same warmth and humility as Sheldon. Has nothing to do with her talents as a chef.
