I so agree. Plus, Mama Hassan looks like she's missing some teeth. Hassan/Azan can get her some in the good ole U.S.A.!

I can't take credit for this compilation, but it's pretty entertaining. An answer to the question: "what was Mo filming with his selfie camera?" https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxli_FPNKzK2vKlYop-lYiUYNkPkynCF7 -

This made me chuckle, kudos to your husband! About the drinking and smoking: yeah, all the mistresses commented on it (as did Danielle's family) since they found it such a departure from what he espoused as his principles. The mistress who took him to Las Vegas did so because he loved gambling so much in Atlantic City earlier in the year. She also said he would pound down the beer first before switching to the hard stuff. All of which is fine but just makes it so odd that he would construct a persona that was so contrary to who he really was. Also, he does have a knack for sniffing out the women who are most vulnerable. It's a bit like child molesters can somehow detect which child is the best target. Quite creepy but quite uncanny: I've never figured out their secret but it's a talent of sorts. All of his most lucrative targets had either gone through a recent split and/or had a history of anxiety disorders. This didn't seem to apply to Luisa who seemed to figure him out once they spent time together in Miami and headed for the hills. I think it says that he would rule you out as a good target because you're too stable. -

But that's what's so fascinating since that's the Mo persona he's constructed that has worked so well for him. The stories of women who eventually got conned by him (and I'm not suggesting you were one!) started out exactly this way: He seemed like such a respectful, lonely young man who was just reaching out for friendship. The persona is a hard working guy who disavows alcohol and drugs etc. But the real Mo (sometimes to the shock and astonishment of his mistresses) is a hard drinking guy who loves his cigarettes and is really into gambling. Danielle aside, many of the other mistresses were well educated and not stupid at all. The first Canadian one (whom he "met" online on ArabLounge back in August 2014) was thoroughly beguiled by the person she thought he was. But there were a few tells: like his refusal to admit he was married (she discovered it on his other FB pages); his constant pleas of poverty (to which she replied with gifts and cash). She escaped early but by that time he'd found his NY mistress (December 2014) from who he ultimately acquired 40K over the course of the next year. -

He's never been on the show, but there was a photo of him attending the eldest daughter's graduation ceremony. Sara (Danielle's sister) has also spoken about him. The photo shows that he's a good looking guy: tall and lean (better looking than Mo actually). They were together living common law for over twenty years and it looks like the relationship just ran its course. But he's still very much part of his kids' lives and the extended family has always liked him. Danielle had a co-worker (the colorful Halal Potatoes Angie who appeared on the show) who encouraged to try out an online dating site called MeetMe. Mohamed found Danielle (not the reverse) and to say that Danielle was ignorant about other cultures is an understatement: she'd never been out of the U.S. before. Angie was the sole cheerleader during the online "romance" with Mo that ensued: the rest of Danielle's family was opposed for a variety of reasons. One of the reasons was that it was just too soon after Danielle's split with her common law husband. And the notion was raised repeatedly that Mo could be a guy who was just scamming her for a Green Card. Alas, Danielle didn't listen and the rest is history. Danielle's new boyfriend is real, not a George Glass. He must have the patience of a saint to put up with the Mo foolishness but....a lid for every pot, right? -
In terms of classic films to be cherished forever, Mo's video "How I cut my hair with an elastic band and a razor" is up there with the classics of all time. Close runner up is his film: "How to get the how you say it Green Card", haha HIs early photos were when he was going by his correctly spelled name: Jbeli back in 2010 and his target was (don't ask me why) Belgian women. Somehow they resisted his charms. Can't imagine why?

Yeah, it's so interesting to find out all the behind the scenes stuff, isn't it? That's what I blame for my addiction to this story for three long years (help!!!)

It sounded pretty convincing but wasn't true, unfortunately. As soon as Mo left Tunisia for Qatar (to hang out with his older brother, who lived there), he set up his first FB page targeting European women. It's still up (I'll give you the link). facebook.com/mohamed.jbeli.3192 Unfortunately for him, European women are a lot more sophisticated about "Tunisian love rats" and he didn't get any takers. It was early days and he'd made the mistake of including photos of his dwelling place (pretty dismal). So he changed the spelling of his name (that'll work!) and started targeting more gullible women from North America. If he'd just been seeking a cure for loneliness, he wouldn't have kept up with all his other dating sites. He also started showing himself in suit and tie, suggesting that he was a highly educated professional rather than a lowly warehouse worker. Now he's a proficient (and highly successful) con artist....one of the best I've seen. Watch him again as he tries to convince the host of his bona fides (after Danielle left in tears): all the tricks are there. His physical posture changes, he fixes her with a steady "sincere" gaze, leans in close. It's classic!

Most are no longer online or public (there was a war of Mo's mistresses back in 2015) but the women teamed up after they all recognized having been scammed by Mo.

Wow, interesting and somewhat scary too! I was on TV years ago for an unusual court case I was defending. My client belonged to a religious sect that (wait for it) believed in setting fires AND appearing nude in court (that's what attracted the press in the first place). I tried to explain the rationale (too wordy for prime time) and when the segment was finally shown, it sounded like I was the one advocating being nude in court! Naturally, this was the one piece of press coverage that went nationwide so all my relatives in Eastern Canada saw it too. I got a lot of worried phone calls that night, haha. That was my lesson about TV "fame"!

You know, that would be a fascinating study I would love to read. I'm sure everyone who goes on one of these shows thinks they can control how they appear to the viewers. But what is the relationship between the "fame" and one's one psychology? I fear it can't be anything good. Would Danielle have gone to Miami to confront Mo if the producers hadn't egged her on? I can see the lure of the money but at what cost? I would shrink away at the first sign of online bashing, much less from a constant barrage for years. But how else does it distort your own perception of yourself? I think I would end up in a padded cell after only one season!

Not quite. The old messages to and from Mo to other women were Exhibits to Affidavits from the women themselves. Coupled with Mo's statements (on and off camera) against interest: exceptions to the hearsay rule. So she does have the evidence but what USCIS will do with it is anyone's guess. But I do take your point: why take it on the show to wave in front of Mo? She's never going to get a heartfelt (or any) apology from the guy. Let the justice system do its work, hope for the best and move on.

I wonder if he knows he can get a same sex partner marriage now too? Hmmmmm, jes sayin". I think Canada might be spared: only because Mo's sister-in-law took a distinct dislike to Mo (basically saw what he was). The welcome mat Chez MoBro has been withdrawn.
