I think it's mildly amusing that almost all of Dylan Bruno's random TV appearances (at least, that I've seen) have him being some kind of veteran who fought in a Middle Eastern country. Ah, typecasting.

Not just a vet who did time in the Middle East, but specifically a military contractor that is a Very Bad Guy. Not only did he play that here, but on NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles as well.

Sister Ursula relating to Trixie might have been a bit of fun.

I wish we could have seen that! I think Trixie would have told her off at the first turn and damned the consequences. Trixie has *never* allowed anyone, not even Sister Julienne, to potentially compromise the care of patients. I feel like Trixie would have told her exactly where Ursula could stick that 20 minute limit. Too bad we didn't get that little confrontation because it would have been epic.

Why is everybody so sure that ECO is leaving?

Yeah, are there sources for any of this info? I'm seeing a lot of wild speculation here. @Samantha84, you're usually a good source. What is the contact status for the main cast? Anyone need to re-up at the end of the season?

  5. Howard *didn't* buy the minivan. He brought it home for a test drive. The decision to buy was made by both of them.

I'd imagineboth Howard and Bernie are still paying student loan debt as well. And babies are expensive. Daycare in my area runs $200 a week. Health insurance  $300 a month. Diapers about $12 a pack. It adds up quickly. Plus trying to save for rainy days, college and retirement.

  6. Yeah I don't buy Michelle cheating on Sam or them having marriage issues for an instant. Sam values his family above all else. If there were serious issues he'd quit his job before he let anything cost him his family. And I'm wondering if that going to be this years cliffie: Sam's job put his family in danger again (Tahir or something else) and this time he resigns. Is Aunjanue Ellis returning? I know she's busy with Quantico but if another of her kids is in danger, I'd think we'd see her show up. It was awkward enough last season when Aiden's school got attacked.

As far as Sabatino goes, I think he's a nicely grey character and I'd prefer to keep him that way. I know the team thinks he was part of the mole set up but they never proved his involvement one way or the other.

Where is the info about the last 2 episodes posted?

If the justification for turning this show into a couples comedy is that it would be unrealistic for all the guys to be single forever then it's only natural that babies would follow because that is what happens with most married couples.  That said, this gives the lazy writers an easy storyline for Bernadette and Howard.  The only thing I don't really like about it is how isolated they've been in episodes.

The isolation actually makes sense for this story. New parents are not constantly hanging out with their friends and when they do get together, it's more likely that the friends come to them. I've actually been impressed that we're seeing the impact a child has on relationships without actually seeing the child.

My problem with the Bernadette storyline is that is doesn't seem true to character that she would consider not going back to work at all. I don't see why she couldn't consider a middle ground, like telecommuting one day a week, doing a flex schedule, cutting back her hours, or looking for a new job entirely if her current employer couldn't meet those requests. Honestly, I'd see the character of Bernadette leaving her job and becoming some kind of independent consultant before she'd give up work entirely. Maybe they will ultimately go in that direction-- I guess it's a lot of story to cram into a 19-minute episode.

But most of Bernie's work takes place in a lab. She a researcher and developer in the biochem field. I don't think she can do that on a flex schedule or telecommuting.

  9. There are some of the English Upper Crust floating around with a triple barrel surname. It's not common but it does happen.

Chummy would be a Lady only if her father was a Lord (Marquess, Duke or Earl) or if she had earned an Order of the Garter or somesuch. Otherwise she was Miss F-C-B (I'm not writing the whole thing out, going to Noakes must have been a relief for her!).

  10. Well the source material is written in Jacks voice and from his point of view. It follows the movie would do the same.

  11. All the freaking time @Humbugged! TJ Ramini had a multi season recurring guest role on mothership, before turning up here as someone completely different. I get that casting wants the best talent available but I wish they'd pay more attention to continuity.

As for the couple working together--I think it's one of those things where you have to suspend reality a bit, because the alternative was eight going on nine seasons of will they-won't they unresolved sexual tension, and I'm not sure any couple can hold up to that for that long. I'm actually really relieved that we're no longer doing that.

    And the Mothership proved, It.Gets.Old!

  13. I like the Kensi and Deeks thing. It's nice to see a show move past the will-they, won't -they thing. And I'm fine with no contrived drama. This isn't high school. These are functioning, responsible adults and I'm delighted they act like it.

  14. This one was pretty funny! I like that our guys were able to work well with marshals. It's a nice a subtle nod to the fact they *usually* get along with the other federal agencies.

I also like the small references that while Kensi is back at work, her recovery is still an on-going process. She's still struggling to sleep, to the point that getting a a *good* night's sleep is something to comment on. She apparently hasn't seen her girl gang (my term, I'm not typing out all those names each time) in awhile either, as they apparently don't live close. Even suggesting they go do something over the weekend seemed to catch Deeks off-guard which to me implies she's been sticking pretty close to home for months now. Small things but I feel they were good references to her still being somewhere in the recovery process. Going back to work *doesn't* automatically mean everything is fine and the way it used to be.

Hetty was right: it's been a crappy year and they are finally coming out the other side. Of course, this means things will get blown to hell again soon. Season finale is looming!

  15. Nell is short. She is not overweight by any stretch of the imagination. Quite frankly she has a bigger rack than Kensi or Anna and her clothes do make that apparent. She is dressed quite nicely and flatteringly. We frequently see her in nicely cut dresses with a light cardigan. That is hardly "baggy layers."

So is Anna part of the team now? It does feel like they're about to be reorganised in a significant way. I'm undecided about her inclusion, but I find her fight scenes ridiculous. It's not convincing that a woman of her build is taking down grown men. At least with Kensi/Daniela her height gives some stature and she's more athletic. Anna/Bar has been cast as a love interest first and an agent second. Which probably says something about where the show is heading.

Speaking of, I noticed the ratings have been down these past few episodes. I'm sure the break didn't help, but the episodes since the "mole" storyline have been filler. There's some nice moments with Eric and Nell, and Sam does his best to make the plot compelling, but it's been underwhelming.

I thought Callen came across as a stalker ex-boyfriend when he went to her home. He needs to get over himself. The show has not done a good enough job of establishing his emotional issues, so to now suddenly have him all hurt and annoyed over Joelle's actions doesn't sit right. His comments to her in the boathouse were also obnoxious. If they're doing this to build up Callen/Anna, then it's stupid because imo Callen comes across badly, (and not in a good way), and Anna really is a non-entity.

Jada was from war torn Sudan. A completely different culture. As the show established, she belonged to her brother. I see no point in making judgements about her actions, or comparing them to those living in the West.

I also don't see the point in comparing Joelle to the team. They are all in a line of work where they lie and deceive others. It is only because the show has decided to demonise Joelle, we are now going down this road of measuring who has done what.

The actress is not a size 0, so she needs to be covered up. That's the impression I get. She is very cute though.

Not sure where that size 0 remark came from. One of the things I appreciate about this show is that multiple female leads have all been developed into distinct and complex characters that are good at what they do and kick ass when they need too and yet all distinct from each other. Nell has her own style and I think it's quite cute and attractive. And frankly I'm glad to see women in law enforcement on my screen that aren't running around in 4-inch heels and low cut blouses.
