It wasn't the sceptre that went back to Asguard, it was the Tesseract. Last we saw of the sceptre in Avengers was Nat using it to close the portal. She probably handed it over to SHIELD right after.

Is anyone else hoping that Groot ends a twig again in Infinity Wars? Just so that we get Baby Groot again in Vol. 3, plus the awesomely funny and face-palming reaction coming from the Guardians when they realize they have to raise him *again*,

It's nonsense that DDK and GP should be paid as much as Alex. He is the ONLY one of the cast to make a full and total commitment to the show. The others were constantly wrangling for time off to do other things. CBS should have kept them, but DDK & GP aren't without fault here.
Really? I don't think DDK has missed an episode (and if he has, it's certainly not as many as SC) and I think GP was only gone for her maternity leave. Which she shot a bunch of stuff for in advance, keeping Kono in most episodes. I'd say they've both made considerable effort to work their other projects around 5-0.
And also, the thought just occurred to me that losing Chin and Kono will make Scott's already considerable absences even *more* noticeable as now it's just McGarrett and Grover to cover for him. Are we going to see Jerry suddenly in the field and chasing down suspects?

This is just really sad. Even though I have more or less quit watching it, it makes me angry that CBS would not give GP and DDK the raise they deserve. It sure makes Peter Lenkov's comments about GP and DDK being "family" sound very phony.
In all fairness Peter Lenkov might not have been the decision maker here. When all that stuff when down on Criminal Minds with JJ/Prentiss being fired to allow budget for a spin-off (that failed), the show's producers were *very* opposed to the move but got over-ruled by the CBS execs.

That is really disappointing to hear. I'm especially not pleased that a show set in Hawaii has gone from a majority-minority cast to majority Caucasian.

I want to know what exactly she was studying and training to do. (Not disagreeing with you, I just don't think she comes off as if she learned anything legit. Or anything). She seems clueless or wackado. She says she can take vitals, but I'm skeptical. That takes about an hour to learn with a manual BP cuff and stethoscope.
I think Doodlebug is a forum poster who is a practicing OBGYN. Not a nickname for Jill.

Poor guy!

I'm begging the cast to make that happen!

He'll do fine with them and Quill. Drax and Gamora will probably be a bit disconcerting though.

I think that two things are almost unavoidable in Infinity War
- Iron Man and Captain America having to explain the rift to Thor. I'm sure shade will be involved.
- Thor and Iron Man getting into some kind of "toxic friendship triangle" where Hulk has to try to convince them that he can have two BFFs.
I think Thor is going to be well and truly pissed at them for not getting along. I was always half-way hoping that Civil War was going to be settled by Thor arriving and settling it for them.
I wonder how much frame of reference Thor would have for their issues. Unlike Earth, my impression is that Asguard isn't divided into separate countries. Their all just Asguardians. Same with the other planets. I'm thinking Thor's reaction will be along the lines of 'you're all human, how can you not work together to defend your planet. Thanos isn't going to care about your internal issues!'
Also along those lines I have to think that Gamora and Nebula are going to be be pivotal to Infinity Wars, as they were raised by Thanos anare the best source of intel on him.

Yeah I read this a one character to each show. And Granger does sadly need to be replaced. I don't think we're losing anyone. @Samantha84 do know if anyone needs to re-up their contract? You usually have the info :-)

They really tend to make every season finale feel like a wrap up. I don't think they've ever ended on any sort of a cliffhanger note.

Yup. I'm guessing Thor will be the initial bridge between the Guardians and yhe Avengers. Asguard probably knows all about the events of Vol 1 and Vol 2. Do we think Ego put one of those plant things on Asguard?

I was watching Age of Ultron last night and something occurred to me. At the very end Thor makes reference to multiple Infinity Stones having been found and causing trouble in the last few years. Does that mean Thor and thereby Asguard at least are aware of the events of Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1? If they are, it's probably going to make introductions a bit easier when Infinity Wars actually rolls around next year.

My boss took her newborn to daycare on her days off.
Most daycares charge for your "place" whether the baby is there or not. And children are *extremely* routine-oriented. It might have been more disruptive to keep baby home.

I was recently watching one of those episodes and it definitely caught me off guard to see her, both with no habit and very non MJ mannerisms!

I really hope we don't get a repeat of Chummy and Shelagh's stories where shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing and raising a baby in pre-Pampers Poplar, was such a piece of cake it could all be done by seven in time for a day at the ante-natal clinic. It always surprises me to see them taking their babies with them to work. My baby was such a colicky little screamer they would have paid me to take him home and never come back.
For what it's worth, it was clear that Chummy was only working part time. There were references to her being ask to cover additional shifts and some scenes showing that she was having to juggle at home as a result.
As far as Shelagh goes, we only see her in the maternity home/doctor's office and as the receptionist/record keeper at the ante-natal clinic (which only takes place at most twice a week for certain hours). She's not out on the district rounds or taking 'woman in labor calls' at all hours from Nonnatus. Much easier to fit her childcare around and as Angela was adopted, there was no breastfeeding to have to be considered. Plus both Chummy and Shelagh's children were around 6-8 months old when they returned work, not tiny newborns. Since Angela's dad own the doctor's practice I can't imagine there was much pushback about her being brought in from time to time when the childcare fell through. And who would even notice another child in the ante-natal clinic anyway!
On the other hand, Barbara will have responsibilities as a vicar's wife and while she might be able to deal with working before children show up, she'll probably have a much harder time being a working wife and mother. I would think a baby on scene for the Herewoods would be the end of Barbara's working days for quite some time.

I figured since Sr. J was the midwife and Patrick is a doctor, she gave him a pass on being in the room. Had Shelagh been in a hospital Dr. T probably wouldn't have been allowed in.

Having seen the trailer that is showing with Guardians, I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. And not just because we finally have a Peter that *looks* like a teenager but for Tony Stark's role. He is trying so hard to keep Peter on the right path, to deal with the fact that while he has these powers he can't save the world yet and might truly get killed trying. At least the way the trailer cut it, it's an oddly parental role that Tony is very awkward with yet acknowledges he must take on. Peter does need guidance and limits, if only because while he *wants* to do good in the world and use his powers to help, he doesn't know yet how to do that safely and with an eye towards the long-range consequences. Those are lessons Tony learned the very hard way and I'm delight seeing him try to teach the next generation to learn from his mistakes.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
in Movies
A small thing that stood out for me was that the Department of Damage Control wasn't Tony trying to make money off the clean-up after the Battle of New York. He was their source of funding and it was basically him paying to get the mess cleaned up and the alien tech secured. I'm guessing that if Tony was aware of the people with contracts that got screwed (like Toomes) he might have done what he could to mitigate it. I'm not going to hold it against Tony that he sees the damage that was caused and wants to fix it.
