S24.E07: Week 7: A Night at the Movies

I remember CAI saying the vote on season 23 was the closest in DWTS history. -
S24.E07: Week 7: A Night at the Movies

I've tried to like this season but I just can't. There seems to be no camaraderie amongst the cast and the producer manipulation is more blatant than usual. Boo to season 24. -
S24: Nick Viall - Giving A Rose To DWTS
sparrowtime replied to radishcake's topic in Dancing With The Stars
I enjoyed Nick's performance. With Peta at the helm this pair will steadily improve. As I have wandered around various DWTS forums I noticed that that Nick is getting very favourable reviews for the most part. That likely ticks off the anti Nick faction. Nick and Peta are getting some of my votes. -
I will try to be realistic as to who could possibly do the show. Baby Chmerkovskiy will be very young next season so no Peta. Kym has hung up her dancing shoes, no Kym. Maks says he's done, no Maks. Derek is otherwise occupied, no Derek. My number one favourite, Tristan is highly unlikely to ever come near DWTS again, no Tristan. I saw some recent pics of Lacey and although she has always been a great fave of mine, she has added a substantial amount of weight so isn't likely in dance comp shape, no Lacey. My picks; Sharna, Lindsay, Emma, Edyta, Oti and Oksana from Strictly. Sasha, Dmitry, Val, Mark, Alan, Tony.

Oh I would have to pick Tristan. Probably the nicest guy ever on DWTS. Talk about patience, Tristan has a world of it. He always says the main focus of his teaching is to make it fun for his partner.

This is an amazing man. -

I will watch and rewatch James'and Sharna's (and Jenna, too) again and again in the future. I have a very select list of past dances I watch often. None of the other Season 23 dances make that list. Some good ones happened, of course, but none particularly memorable or different. -

I have had a VPN for awhile now. My primary reason for obtaining one was internet security but hey, being able to vote for Hinch and Sharna is a plus. -
S23: James Hinchcliffe: Racing Around The Dancefloor

Last week on Strictly Come Dancing Louise and Kevin did an AT that mesmerized me. If you get a chance have a look at it. If James and Sharna can perform an AT on this level they will blow everyone away. And I think they can. Trio dance, Salsa or Samba. Hmm, I lean toward preferring Salsa for these three and I'm not even sure why. -

Me too. I've been hoping for a James/Sharna AT. And the top is here they belong as far s I'm concerned. -
Nothing yet but Sharna appears to be Glenda, the good witch so perhaps she is in a supporting role.

To me this immunity and dance-offs show was simply a seeding round to set the stage for the finishing order. Which is quite plain now, James, Laurie, Calvin, Jana. I think Terra and Marilu don't factor in because they are the next two gone. I think James will take the MB mainly because he is so much more interesting than Laurie and a much better dancer than Calvin.
-
I don't think James is in any need of immunity due to low voter support. I belong to several DWTS fan groups on FB and he and Sharna seem to have a commanding lead in support. People have just fallen in love with him. Jana, on the other hand, may very well benefit from immunity, as I don't think she is pulling in big voting numbers.

S23: James Hinchcliffe: Racing Around The Dancefloor

James and Sharna are magical together but if it becomes necessary for Jenna to substitute for Sharna I am not overly worried. Certainly the dance will have Sharna's touch all over it and she will have been with James and Jenna every step of the way. Jenna is a good ballroom dancer and James is a dream partner so all should be fine. -
Very glad that the Agnes-Kirk storyline resolved last night. It was dragging and now on to more engrossing episodes. (I hope).

Listening to old Grumpy Pants Len say he wanted "more jitterbug" in the dance and mb posters parroting the same thing prompted me to do a little research. I watched six championship jitterbug competitions on YT and lo and behold, James and Sharna danced a classic jitterbug! Every move they did was pure jitterbug and the pro couples I watched incorporated all of them into the various routines. Jitterbug is under the Swing banner and there is a lot of leeway for the choreography.

James and Sharna were on Ellen today. They reprised their ChaCha and it seemed from the hip action that alter-ego Ricardo accompanied them. These two are always fun, James is a natural entertainer. -

Jana has been through a lot and I commend her for her ability to pick herself up and carry on. Good luck to Jana and Gleb tonight. -

I tend to judge by FB views too. FB responders are so many in number compared to YT views. You can usually get a pretty good idea of which way the wind is blowing by perusing FB comments and right now James is a solid second and climbing. He and Sharna have caught the imagination of viewers in a way none of the rest have. This tango coming up is ultra important to StopAndGo's trajectory and if done well, coupled with his ultra dramatic MY story of his near fatal car crash it should result in a big push. -

I've heard some say he reminds them of a young Bob Saget. To me, I see only a passing resemblance. -
S23: Amber Rose: Calling Out The Steps

I get the distinct impression that Maks is very uncomfortable in this partnership. He seems very detached from all proceedings. Makes me wonder if he agreed to do this season just to keep the lines open between him and DWTS. I is looking quite likely that there will be a spot on the judging panel opening up soon and Maks has expressed interest in judging several times. -

I am very much anticipating immunity for #TeamStopAndGo tonight. Sharna said the other day, "getting some hip action going". Always a good thing in a ChaCha! I went the VPN route awhile ago which enables this Canadian to vote. Voting on DWTS and other American shows wasn't my primary reason for VPNing, Internet security was, but it's a secondary plus.
