I agree that they both did good work. I just hated the storyline and think the entire year needed a trigger warning. I think RC obviously wanted to make major changes to the role and I think BM is a fine recast if that was his goal but right now he's not a character at all he's just a boring, passive man-shaped plot point. Agreed. I think it was rape when Ford from OLTL had sex with partial amnesiac Jess. I am appalled that Liz is even considering this. I cannot imagine there would be any debate if Ric were doing this to an Amnesiac!Liz whether she was married or not. I can't speak for other viewers but their horrible past was only part of what was offensive about their story. Withholding Marty's history and isolating her so he could have a creepy relationship that she wouldn't have otherwise was disgusting.

I think if Liz believed that he would choose her she wouldn't be lying to him right now. The thing is - when Helena told him weeks? months? ago that he was Jason his immediate impulse was to go to Sam. He has had memories of Sam and he took that ridiculous phoenix figurine because it triggered some kind of memory/emotion for him. He wouldn't be in the same position that he was in with Haydenlee because he wouldn't be trying to recover memories that never existed. He'd be trying to recover more of the memories that he's already had and getting to know his son

Nathan and Maxie are boring. They need a ton of outside obstacles because they are inherently uninteresting. Nobody ever mentions Nate without talking about his looks because there's no intelligence or guile or soul to the character. Nathan reminds me so much of GV's dim-wtted Lucky - though even GV managed not to read his lines like a middle schooler in his first play. I want to like Maxie but I think she's ill-matched with RP's wooden, boring Nate. I don't think he's necessarily the worst actor GH has ever had but most of the other actors have charisma, screen presence or spark and chemistry with their co-stars - Nate just has abs

I agree My UO is that I also thought Jason had a legitimate right to pain given the story. Sam agreed to a certain amount of risk when she decided to be with Jason but this went way beyond being a bystander or a victim in some mob-related BS. This specific harm was a result of Franco's obsession with Jason and it was done to hurt Jason. I don't think Jason made Sam's rape about him, I think the (incredibly shitty) story of Sam's rape was about Jason - and his feelings and reactions made sense in that context. Sam was entitled to rage and pain because she was violated (and it was a violation despite RC's Franco retcon) but Jason's wife was raped on their honeymoon by a man who was obsessed with him and he was both prevented from helping her and forced to witness it. That's rage and helplessness and guilt Just typing this reminded me how much this story made me want to vomit on a daily basis. The baby switch/paternity lie on top of it made me stop watching because that's a little too much misery for me.

I think Nik was probably okay with the lie because he doesn't care about hurting Jakeson and he believes that Sam and Danny are better off with Patrick. Jason being MIA/dead also helped his ELQ takeover attempt (in ways which only make sense to RC). Plus, if Jakeson ever did regain his memories there's nothing concrete that proves that he knew But I think he tried to talk Liz out of her plan for the same reason that he told her the secret - he really cares about her and he doesn't want her to be hurt.

I think Robin and her family need to come up with a safe word/phrase so that she can let people know when she's being held hostage. Robin absolutely has a right to be angry with Liz and Nik because they have increased the length of her captivity for stupid selfish reasons - even if they didn't know that's what they were doing, I think she should be, at most, disappointed with Anna and Patrick because all they've done is take her at her word. While it can be argued that they should be suspicious by now - I think there's an equally valid argument that they could reasonably expect her to avoid this kind of situation. Or at the very least she could trust the people who love her. Both of her parents are people with experience and resources and they have proven themselves equal to all of the members of the LoD But I agree that Robin's fans should absolutely be furious with RC because he wasted KMc's availability and treated it the way Pruza treated TG's twice yearly vacations that happened every single year

I will laugh my ass off forever Look at that! Actual character motivation for Nik to screw over Jason and it's much better than that weak sauce ELQ bullshit. I always think they have great chemistry - right up until they kiss.
