Clay for Bachelor!!
-
Yes, I did! I was trying to figure out how to edit it! Jordan to me is so reality tv-compelling that I just seem to have him on the brain! OK changed it! Tx yorklee2

Thought it was interesting how all Lincoln told Becca is that the picture got thrown in the pool and how sad he was about it...conveniently leaving out the part where he talked to the picture, kissed it, kept putting it on the table even when asked to put it away and generally just antagonizing the other guys-- who may have been giving him the fisheye to start with thinking he had won by cheating (at least that's all we saw him tell Becca.) Good heavens, even when Jordan is talking about their (imaginary) future, he talks about having a "mini-me" rather than talking about "our kids." I truly think the boy doesn't realize that a conversation involves both people talking and not just him talking about himself. Last week I thought he was attractive; this week I find myself throwing cheetos at the tv yelling. "You're not THAT pretty!"

My first thought when I heard Maeve's daughter's call out when she saw her mother was that Maeve had somehow crossed timelines and would be looking at herself. Yeah, I'm lost, too.

Jordan, the self-described "ridiculously handsome" model, is reality tv gold. He says such stupid things with great seriousness. He'll keep me happy for days.

Anybody else find themselves whistling the theme song to The Andy Griffith Show when Rick was remembering the walks he took with Carl down a country road?

Smackdown! Not Dr. Pepper 1, Molly 0.

Love how, when Lauren asked Arie if he was sure about their relationship and he said 1,000 %, he was actually, at the same time, shaking his head "no."
-
I do think that Arie slow-walking in the house and refusing to leave was, as others have said, the TPTB's way of baiting Becca to get more reaction from her---screaming at him, asking tons of questions as to why, what does she have that I don't have, maybe a slap to the face---to make this The Most Dramatic Season's End in Bachelor History!!! I think she was further blindsided because she referenced the conversation Arie had with Lauren but thought it was a way for him to put the relationship to bed (see what I did there?) and instead he used it to confirm that his feelings for Lauren were stronger that they were for her. I had a relationship that mirrors the relationship of Arie and Lauren. I was shy, quiet, reserved and he said that, little by little, I was letting him in and he was getting to know me. I also, in retrospect, think he projected a lot onto me, much as Arie seems to be doing with Lauren. We eventually got married but flamed out in a matter of months for a myriad of reasons but I think one was because once we got married, the relationship was no longer a fun, exciting puzzle and couldn't sustain the day-to-day, mundane life of marriage.

I don't get the Max love. To me he is smug and kind of insufferable.

When I saw the Pink Ladies, I first thought it was Maquel dressed as a lunchroom worker, bowling. All the close ups on Krystal, to me, emphasized her strong, masculine features. She looked like a big ole country girly-man. Yeah, I'm going to hell. . .

Rainsong, you're the best!

S13.E11: Week 10: The Final Rose / S13.E12: After the Final Rose

So RIDETHEMAVERICK, is this some secret code you're not willing to explain? -

Rachel has never said she was the spokeswoman for All Black Women, so can't we just talk about Rachel. Bryan and Peter et al in the context of what happened on the show? -

I don't. What does this mean? -
I'll meet you there, Judy Obscure; I'll be the one self-flagellating and wearing a hair shirt. ; )

So because I, or anyone else, is Southern, we're tainted because of what happened 150 years ago that we had no control over, no matter how we act now or what we believe today? The North had manufacturing and used child labor. The West, Southwest and South wanted more land and displaced American Indians onto reservations in horrible conditions that contiune today. Japanese Americans were placed in camps in WWII. Horrible things have happened in this country that everyone regrets. I would like to think that people in South Dakota, Virginia and New York who are trying to be honest and kind can do so without being judged on what happened in the past. Uh, tired of defending myself---on what I wrote hours ago ; ) See everyone next year when The Bachelor premieres

No worries at all, jade.black--I'm afraid I get a little over-sensitive at times. Lee was referred to as a southern racist several times, and I get my hackles up when I hear that--I'm the one talking back to the tv, saying, "We're not all like that!" The south---gotta represent ; )
-
Lee is from Georgia or Tennessee, I think, not sure which, so do you mean the southern United States? That's a pretty big leap to make. I live in a city that has a mix of whites, blacks and Hispanics, as opposed to the city in NJ that my SIL is from where there are no POC and she had never had any interaction with AA until she moved to Georgia, or my friend whose husband is from a small town in Ohio that was entirely populated by whites, or the young recent college graduate, also from Ohio, that I interviewed for a job, who said, in a nice way, that she had never seen as many AA before as she saw walking in the halls of our company. On my street of 40 houses, we have 2 interracial couples with children, a lesbian couple with a child and 2 single gay men. No problems that I know of. At concerts, grocery stores, department stores, I regularly see interracial couples and friends. I'm sure that there are prejudiced people everywhere, some that buy into the alt-right movement, but I don't see it as the norm in the south, so please don't paint the area with one brush, if that indeed was your intention.
-
I've wondered during the season if the Lee fiasco might be scripted. I couldn't figure out why TPTB didn't bring the viciousness to a screaming halt unless they were somehow directing it. And why would you become known by millions of people as a complete and utter asshat racist unless there was some sort of payoff? Show, you have some explaining to do.
-
It was commented on an hour and a half before I posted. Anyway, that's my opinion. . .
-
Please, can we get back to talking about The Bachelorette and True Love?
-
It seems grossly unfair that TPTB forced Dean on his HTD (and I say forced because he seemed absolutely terrified at the prospect) to visit his dad whom he hadn't seen in years and with whom he had unresolved issues, while Rachel, as a contestant on Nick's season, got a pass on having her dad on camera. If they have allowed one contestant on HTD to not have the dad involved, for whatever reason, then I think they should allow another contestant to have a visit sans dad, also. Since I read that Rachel was pegged early on in Nick's season to be the potential first black bachelorette, I'm thinking that maybe she got some concessions that Dean didn't rate.
-
Shame on TPTB for not dropping Lee immediately and instead perpetuating the Southern racist storyline.

Please tell me that wasn't real fur she was wearing.
