Mykelti is my least favorite of the kids.  She is SO competitive!  MY wedding had 400 guests over your 350!  MY meat dish (carnitas?) is better than yours!  Etc., etc…. Insecure and immature.  Insufferable!

Dear, whimsical Mykelti...her personality grates, but she has potentially the worst traits from each of her parents - her mother's breathy, over-the-top way of speaking, and her father's narcissism.  Combine that and you get an adult who thinks she's the center of attention and the life of the party, while those around her smile but secretly cringe.

She's had to work too damn hard to get a shred of attention from any of her clueless parents, so I cut her some slack.  When she's able to speak calmly, I don't find her too bad.

Tony, on the other hand....find a comb and tuck in your ****** shirt, bro.

Christine's grandfather -- the one who was the prophet in their cult and was murdered -- he was a chiropractor and homeopath.

I sort of knew this, but this past weekend I watched Daughters of the Cult on Hulu and the story of the two warring plyg factions, and how so many people were murdered, including Christine's grandfather.  Some of Rulon Allred's sons were interviewed, and I was thinking - those are Christine's uncles.  Weird.

I know it's a screenshot of a video but I didn't know this was Kaylee from the top picture.  She may not know how to draw on her eyebrows just yet, but she's gotten an A+ in the Mama Jill School of Social Media Filtering.

Jill's eyebrows don't look like two closely related commas got married and had babies, so why do Kaylee's?

  4. I think Dorit's biggest issue is that she cannot imagine life through anyone else's experiences but her own, and that's a problem.  Garcelle didn't have to explain herself to Dorit, but she did, and that should've been plenty of information for Dorit's tiny brain.  But "I'm sorry I made you feel triggered" is not an apology, so right there I wish Garcelle would've stood up, canceled her hibiscus tea order, and left Dorit to sit there alone.

I would lose my mind if Dorit were anywhere near my "friend" group.  It takes her 500 words to say something that should take 10.  I was frankly shocked that she sat down and gave Garcelle the floor to actually speak without being interrupted for a few minutes, but I ended up mad at myself for even thinking for a moment that Dorit was actually going to truly learn something about someone not named Dorit.

May Kody forever and for all eternity lie down in the bed of his own making with his thread bare quilt of his own bitterness.

May I add...and wake every morning to find that another one of his precious ringlets has abandoned his scalp and lies forlornly on his rock-like pillow made of rage.

But like you all are saying, she's plotting her next passive aggressive move.

I want to think that Tim can stand strong to weather the many underhanded moves Jill is sure to make in the months leading up to the wedding, but I wonder if Tim is even fully aware of Jill's shenanigans, having had to deal with her for his entire life - he doesn't know any other way.

Also, do we know what prompted Ellen to join the jeans-wearing community after 14 years?  Good for her - the timing just seems interesting, given that her daughter is about to gain a mother-in-law whose pastimes include shaming any woman who dares to suggest that she has actual legs.

Again, I am projecting, but I want so badly to think that Ellen did this as a lil' "FU" to Jill.

The episodes didn't show on Prime for me either.  They're supposed to be on Discovery+, but may be hiding.  It took me three complaints and then poking around to find them on youtube tv once they said they loaded them.  The odd numbering certainly isn't helping things.  I ended up watching two of them on TLC go while youtube sorted themselves out.

Yeah, TLC Go doesn't work without a cable provider, they don't show up on Hulu once they've already aired -which is beyond stupid, normally when there's a new SW episode, half of the entire day is dedicated to repeat episodes leading up to the new one - and HBO Max doesn't have them.

But thank you to @General Days for the TLC link, which should work for me once I break the code and decipher their numbering system.  Sheesh, TLC.  DO BETTER.  You need to understand that it's people like us who are keeping this show on your channel!

    Tonight, Kody said:

So, is that the girl that Kody and Meri took a shine to, that they had to wait until she was 18 to court? Is that the girl that called off the wedding, a week prior to the wedding?

    ALSO THOUGH,

Do you all remember Christine talking about how some woman used to call up Kody? She wasn't interested in talking to the wives, just Kody, and so Christine shut it all down?

Do we think it's all the same girl?

I think it's the same girl.  It's impossible to know what to believe with these people, but I lean towards believing Christine in that by the time Kody asked the mystery girl to come into the family, she was like - thanks, but no thanks.

Because let's be rill, there cannot possibly be that many women who were willing to marry Kody Brown, right?

And yes, I would pay to watch this woman's YouTube where she discusses how she narrowly escaped this side-show.

Man, Kody has the most bizarre thoughts. I'm talking about him saying Meri beat the love out of him after 1 year of marriage. WTF? Asshat has no idea of what marriage is . In the polygamous world he says he had to get a second wife to dilute the marriage. In a monogamous marriage it would be called cheating on your wife because you're sick of her and really should get a divorce NOT marry a second, third or fourth time. Does he think we all agree with this way of thinking?

He's disgusting and that's putting it mildly.  He supposedly was "duped" into marrying Meri, whatever that might mean, and then she beat the love out of him so he had to grab Janelle to dilute (gross/yuck/blech!!!) his marriage to Meri.  Then, when - shockingly, Meri did not take well to her husband having married her ex-sister in law, and the two women butted heads, he found a gross, nacho-eating, homely, awful woman named Christine to throw into the garbage disposal of his life because he thought she would act as butterfly-princess liaison between those first two screaming shrews.  The fact that this man refused to ever work on any of his relationships except to add another wife is so beyond the pale, I can't even formulate words.

But I LOVED Meri coming at Kody at the picnic table summit, telling him point-blank - you were once in love with me, and you know it.  And then having Janelle and Christine say the same thing.  Bravo, ladies.  Well done.

I think the original wives and kids got sick of placating Robyn and saw through her behaviour fairly quickly. Kody (who thinks of himself as a brilliant man) refuses to believe he could ever be manipulated but is still left with this hysterical woman he has to give way to in order to have any peace and so blames everyone else for her fits.

    This is a perfect summary.

I don't know how Kootie treated the crew but I suspect not too well.  They seem to be showing Kootie and Sobbyn in the worst light.

Hopefully TLC was paying everyone on the set overtime for the insane amount of times that production had to be shut down so Robyn could finish up with her theatrics.  Most of the crew could probably pay off their homes with that paycheck.

Does anyone think Coyote Pass will ever be anything but massive dirt lots with imaginary property lines?    I don’t.

I am just sittin' here hoping that Kody and Robyn eventually erect a series of small tents on Coyote Pass to move into when the show ends and they can't ask Meri to borrow the money for their mortgage payments and David Yurman horse jewelry anymore.

I really enjoyed this episode and will likely re-watch. I think this was more enjoyable and interesting than the tell all and perhaps even half of this season.

Same!  These talk-back/look back/clap back episodes are the best thing this show has ever given those of us who have been at this since Day One.  Although for me, I tried everything short of driving to the TLC headquarters to beg for the footage of the first talk back episode, which is streaming nowhere that I can find - and I have 5 streaming services - but I managed to record Part Two and it was beautiful.

Love the idea @artisto- how about "Ugly Brown Couch Talk"?

Only if Kody and Robyn are the only two Ugly Browns who sit there!

I love the contrast between Robyn and Kody looking absolutely miserable in their interviews, and meanwhile we have Christine all curled up with a glass of chardonnay and her kitty-cat, Meri with her emotional support bestie, and Janelle in front of a giant display of wine bottles.  Way to go, OG3!

I suspect that Robyn has panic attacks at the slightest inkling that she has to face "what she lost" or anything remotely uncomfortable or confrontational that isn't in her narrative of what she wants her "family" to look/act like. I wouldn't be surprised if her kids (plus Kody and production) walk on egg shells to not piss off Kody or send their very emotionally fragile mother into "the vapors".

As someone who has battled panic attacks (and more) I do not take such things lightly. However I also know people who use their "fragility" as a weapon to control the behavior of others.

    1000% to all of this.

She wasn't having a panic attack, she was using it to get out of facing the reality that she played a major part in.  That is not okay.  And she's taught her daughters to do the same.  She should be deeply ashamed.

I can't keep them all straight, and I actually watched one of the episodes twice because I couldn't figure out if I had seen it before or just the preview clips. It doesn't help that they have a "recap" clip, then a "coming up" clip then the actual scene then a "next on Sister Wives" clip.

THANK YOU.  I will never forgive TLC for giving us some of the best stuff this show has ever given and then making it incredibly confusing/difficult (or in my case, impossible - see above rant) to figure out how to actually watch it!

  10. Can someone help me with all of these SW specials?  I already missed the first Talk Back, but now I see a few locked threads for upcoming specials - another Talk Back, and one How It's Going?  Did we know about the How It's Going show?  What's next?  Meri: An In-Depth Tour of her Carriage House/Margarita Shed?  Or maybe Robyn and Kody: An Artwork Retrospective?

LOL, seriously, are all of these available on TLC or do I need TLC Go?  Hoping I can record them on Hulu if I can remember when they're all going to air.

    The Padron's what, Mykelti?

And which Padron, (since you have used the singular possessive)?

    Grammar and punctuation matter, kids.

    See also: #readyforthechaso

I just listened to a SW podcast and one of the hosts mentioned that she thinks that while all of the Brown children had difficult childhoods in their own ways, Mykelti's story might be the saddest of all.  Based on Mykelti's own words, she got the most crap from Meri out of all the kids, which I can believe - I think Meri punished the kids who got on her nerves and Mykelti was in that group.  Mykelti seemed to love pushing boundaries and in one memorable episode, Meri singled her out for wearing a shirt which Meri told her, on national tv, exposed too much flesh.  Christine told all of us that Mykelti was the child that kept her up the most at night.  She was another blond girl in a family of blond girls, and a daughter of the least-favored wife.  So it's no wonder that when Robyn came into the picture and took Mykelti under her wing (self-servingly...I think Robyn identified the one kid who seemed to be the most lost in this ginormous family and took her away from Christine to gain whatever small foothold she could, but I think Mykelti glommed onto Robyn to punish her own mother).  To me it seems that Robyn and Mykelti used each other for their own purposes which translated into Mykelti being the only child that connected with Robyn into her adulthood, and that Mykelti used that relationship to finally get attention from her stupid father.

Now, though, Kody seems dedicated to emotionally abandoning all of his non-Robyn kids and Mykelti seemed to be the last one standing.  If Robyn truly valued that relationship, I would think she would fight Kody harder to keep at least one of his kids in their grips.  Mykelti was the self-proclaimed "bridge" between Kody and Robyn and the rest of the family.  But there's no need for a bridge anymore if Kody's just going to burn it all down.

This is why I absolutely loved Mykelti's wedding.  It was messy and weird and she sucked for making her guests sit outside in December.  But she also wanted a September wedding, if I recall, which Kody deemed was too close to Kody's man-crush's wedding to his golden daughter, so Mykelti was like - you know what?  It's going to be December, then.  Outside.  Have fun freezing your asses off.  She was going to get attention any way she could, and negative attention is still attention.  Piñatas beaten in effigy?  5,000 street tacos?  I loved it all, lol.

TL;DR - I put way too much thought into these people's actions, but I can definitely see why Mykelti does what she does.  And it makes me happy that she seems to really enjoy being a wife and mother.  Good for her.

  12. On IG, Jill recorded basically an entire church service/concert given by Timothy and Hosanna Noble.  Hosanna is, I'm pretty sure, the one Plath sibling who refused to be on Welcome to Plathville.  I'm sure Jill posted this 6-part video to make sure we all know that she's connected to another "famous" family while she waits patiently for TLC to finally give her and her family their own tv show.  It also looks like Jill was front and center for this concert, which makes me wonder if Hosanna was cool with having a phone pointed at her for the duration.

I also wonder if Jill clocked that this is what actual talent sounds like, or was she sitting there thinking that her circus performers are way better than these two?

I don't think she thinks it's cute. I think she is terrified about what he is going to say and he doesn't listen to reason. He is going to say what he is going to say and he doesn't give a damn. So this is the only way that she can shut him up. He acts like a spoiled stubborn child and she treats him like one. If it were anyone else other than Kody I might find find it disturbing. But it's Kody who doesn't care how he humiliates and dismisses his OG "wives." No sympathy for him in the least.

Oh, definitely no sympathy at all for either of them.  They made their bed, now they get to wallow in it.

You make good points.  I also think Robyn is quite terrified about what the end of the show will mean to her.  She'll have to give up the mansion, the figurines, the questionable artwork, the Yurman rings, and maybe - gasp - get a job herself.  Unthinkable.

Meanwhile, I'm guessing that Kody is enough of a narcissist to to imagine the show will go on forever because he's in it, no matter how unhinged he becomes.

What a pair.  They so deserve each other.

At the end of Jill's christmas videos in her stories on fb there are 2 other videos of Jill opening a mysterious package she just had no idea what it could be. (I laugh because surely the return address showed it was from plexus)

Anyway it is her invite to the Punta Cana leader's trip. She works for "the best company ever" and "they spoil their people so much" 🙄

She makes no comment whether she intends to go or not.

Either commit 100% to being holier-than-thou or stop doing it altogether.  If you proclaim to be so against alcohol, don't use a song in your modeling video written by a man who wrote a love song about a margarita.  This drives me nuts.

Did that coverup come from Plexus too?  Since we all know that if Jill does get anywhere near a body of water, she's going to be dressed from head to toe in layers while judging anyone who doesn't wear leggings and a Sweatblouse™ into a pool, so what's the point of showing us at all?

I also cannot wait to find out the excuse she gives for not attending this time around.

  15. I kept hoping that at least once, when Robyn was trying to fart out some tears, Suki would've reached into her pocket for a compact and touched up her lipstick or maybe pulled a book out from under her chair and started reading, while waiting for the latest round of histrionics to pass.
