  1. Oh, I'm definitely aware of that Twitter account and blog and have been for a long time! I'm sure she is a lovely, wonderful person in real life, but I'm personally not a fan of her approach to giving out info at all. I used to check her blog, but don't anymore. I don't need to. I don't follow her on Twitter, though some of what she posts ends up circling back to me anyway because we have a lot of the same Twitter followers. Sometimes I'll be asked if something she posted is actually correct or not. Just yesterday, in fact, someone asked me behind the scenes if a particular thing she posted was correct, and it was not, so I had to clear it up. A lot of the info that is posted on that Twitter page and blog is based on guesses and assumptions about which movies are going to which networks, then passed off as facts. I could easily do that too. I have all the same filming/production info, and know all of the places to look for that info too -- and I could post all of my guesses and assumptions and try to pass them off as facts. I don't do that though. It's not necessary. Unfortunately, there are so many Christmas movies and non-Christmas made-for-TV movies floating around these days (not just for Hallmark), that blurting out random titles, details and names left and right can be a bit confusing and misleading for the average, casual fans of made-for-TV movies, if that info is not confirmed or official and if it ends up changing many more times after it's mentioned. So I take a different approach to dispensing info on Twitter. But if that other site/Twitter page is where people want to get their info, go for it! I'm not certainly not stopping anyone from getting followers. Heck, I'm not even promoting my own Hallmark info-focused Twitter page. I never promote it anywhere. I just get followers through word of mouth, or just from retweets and what not. I'm more concerned with the quality of the info than I am with how many followers I get, or with how many tweets I can crank out in the course of a day.
  2. I have to give a shout out to the YouTuber known as "agameofantasy" (Josh) -- does anyone follow him? About 6 months ago (I think it was right before Season 1 of The Mandalorian ended), agameofantasy started posting short videos of Mando and Baby Yoda with funny subtitles. You would have expected that maybe he'd stop doing the subtitle videos when the season ended or shortly thereafter -- and I think he may have actually considered stopping at one point -- but he has thankfully continued. He now posts at least 1 Baby Yoda/Mando video per week, and oftentimes it's 2 videos per week. While agameofantasy/Josh is using the same clips from the series that he has been using all along, he changes the subtitles and the "plots" of the videos as he goes along, so it keeps it fresh and entertaining. Sometimes the focus is on Mando being annoyed. Sometimes the focus is on Mando being a dad to Baby Yoda. Sometimes the focus is on Baby Yoda being sassy. Sometimes Baby Yoda is trying to get Mando and Cara together. Sometimes Padme and Anakin show up. Sometimes Baby Yoda is plotting to get Omera out of the way so Cara and Mando can be together. It's funny. I think these subtitle videos have become so popular that agameofantasy has gained a lot of followers -- and I find that this kind of content is a nice little way to fill the void and get a Baby Yoda/Mando fix while waiting for Season 2 to begin. Of course, when Season 2 begins he'll have more clips to use for more subtitled adventures (which can fill the void until that time in the distant future when Season 3 premieres). Here is agameofantasy's YouTube channel -- https://www.youtube.com/c/agameofantasy/videos
  3. Yes, it's airing soon! The date for the movie is on the Hallmark website -- I think it just popped up overnight between Tuesday and Thursday. It is subject to change, of course (as dates often change with Hallmark!!), but I saw it. I posted about that movie (and other August Hallmark movies) on my own Twitter page yesterday morning. Hallmark is trying to fill up August a bit so there aren't any gaping holes in it like there have been in recent months, so they are acquiring movies, as expected, though there are still some empty Saturdays in August in spite of the acquisitions. But Wedding Every Weekend w/ Paul & Kimberley is actually an authentic made-for-Hallmark movie that was supposed to have gone into production several months ago and was delayed for obvious reasons. At first I wondered why they were going forward with a wedding movie when their focus was supposedly going to be on Christmas movies -- but then the date for the movie popped up on the Hallmark website and it was clear they were going to use this wedding movie for their Summer Nights event. Also, let me throw this in -- while there are a bunch of Christmas movies going into production soon, there have been no official confirmations yet about which network is getting them, despite what people may read from unofficial sources, blogs, Twitter accounts, etc. I am positive that some of the movies will end up with Hallmark, of course, but Lifetime is in the game too, as are UPtv and others -- and they often share directors, producers, editors, writers, actors, filming locations, etc. -- so it's inevitable that, sooner or later, some of the Christmas movies to be filmed will end up with other networks as well.
  4. Ludwig Göransson definitely has to be nominated for an Emmy. That Mandalorian music is very catchy and memorable, and it really sets the tone for the whole show. It's not like the big, splashy Star Wars music we would hear in movies. The Mando music is moodier. I think the nominations are announced near the end of this month, but I have no idea how the Creative Arts Emmys or the main Emmy broadcast are going to be handled in September. I'm guessing they'll eventually switch to a virtual situation as well, or all the winners will accept their awards from the comfort of their own homes in the ABC broadcast. "Yodas, Witchers and Trekkies, Oh My! Sci-Fi and Fantasy Contenders Eye Emmys Music Gold" Also, these Loungefly pins are cute... And this is funny! "Send Help, I Can't Stop Acquiring Babies Yoda"
  5. It really is a miracle that Season 2 managed to somehow navigate through the obstacle course that is COVID-19 and the various shutdowns and restrictions on working and what not. Even if it were premiering in November or December I would think it was a miracle after all that has happened this year. Hopefully Lucasfilm and ILM let everyone keep the equipment they gave them to do post-production remotely, because they might need it again down the road. But you're right --things out here in L.A. (and elsewhere in California) are headed in the wrong direction again. Filming on Season 3 was supposed to get started in the Fall, but if things keep opening and closing, shutting down and opening up, closing and opening, it's hard to know what the situation will be in 2-4 months or so. There are lots of production guidelines in place now -- I don't know if it's the same in every state, county, city and country, but one set of guidelines is over 35 pages long. They might be prepared to follow the new guidelines and protocols to the letter, and then everyone might suddenly be ordered to stay at home again on a whim. I hope that doesn't happen.
  6. Noah Outlaw answered someone to say that it is not confirmed until Lucasfilm says it, but he's heard that August is when the Season 2 trailer is coming as well. I mean... I think we all could have guessed that August would be a definite time for a trailer just because August is when Star Wars Celebration was supposed to take place in Anaheim, So a trailer in August in and of itself is not a huge shock. I'm sure there were all kinds of things planned for Celebration. BUT when Celebration got canceled and nothing was announced about an online version of it as a replacement, that left more questions about the trailer, especially because Comic-Con IS having an online event in July, which would be a great time to premiere a trailer. So if Lucasfilm and Disney have their hearts set on August, I suppose they'll just drop the trailer on social media at some random time in August -- unless someone finally announces a "Star Wars Celebration At Home" event or something. There is a possibility that what comes out in August is just a teaser, with a real trailer coming out in September. I know that some people see it as "They don't really need to promote the show" because it's already a hit and viewers will already tune in. I get that. But showing trailers isn't just about convincing people to tune in or bringing in new viewers -- it's also about maintaining and building the excitement and momentum for the existing viewers! The average or casual fan (who doesn't pay attention to every bit of news and detail that comes out about The Mandalorian) might not know the show is coming back in October. They may assume that it's airing in November again, so a trailer is also supposed to alert people as to when the season is actually premiering! People need to know when it's going to show up on Disney+. If every popular series didn't need the promotion just because they already have a built-in audience, then we'd never see any promos or trailers for anything.
  7. Also... can you just imagine Baby Yoda in a Little Golden Book? lol When I was a wee tot, I loved those Little Golden Books. I just saw this tweet too... I'm guessing this line of books would have been announced at Star Wars Celebration in August, if it had gone forward, and there would have been a panel discussion about it. But since Celebration is not happening, San Diego Comic-Con saves the day with their virtual event! I just hope they have an actual Mandalorian panel with the cast, creators and directors as well (and a Season 2 trailer, of course).

  9. I definitely hear what you're saying and I agree to a point, but I guess my opinion differs a bit on some things. To me, Pedro's voice -- and voice acting work -- is super-important to the Mando character. That is the thing that is the most consistent -- even when different guys are inside the suit. The voice and the attitude are what we hear in every single episode, regardless of who is in the armor in any particular scene. The voice is what I connect to -- not who is in the armor doing which stunts. Lateef and Brendan do a fantastic job -- no doubt about that -- but Pedro is the one who is Mando to me because it's his face and his voice attached to Mando. We're not seeing different faces or hearing different voices as Mando -- those belong to just one guy. But the stunts are done by Brendan, Lateef and at least one other guy too. If Lateef or Brendan left the show, it would be unfortunate -- but I honestly don't know if I would notice a difference between who was in the armor in this battle scene or that battle scene. If a new stunt guy were brought into the mix, I don't know if I'd be able to tell the difference between that guy and Brendan or Lateef because they are all covered up. But if someone new stepped in to be the voice and face of Mando and they replaced Pedro, I would notice it instantly because it's more obvious. Pedro was on set more than the one day when he filmed his helmet-less scene for Season 1. He couldn't be on the set every day because of those other jobs, and he wasn't in the armor the majority of the time, as we know, but he was on the set more than once -- probably observing, learning and doing EPK segments. He had time to talk to Brendan (who, in an earlier interview, said that Pedro was very interactive and collaborative), and Lateef. I get the impression that he probably talked to Brendan a bit more than Lateef, but maybe that couldn't be helped, depending on the circumstances at the time. Who knows? The reason I get the feeling that there is some kind of resentment towards Pedro, or towards the general, overall situation, is because of what I've seen in the stunt guys' various Instagram Stories & posts. It's not just one post taken on its own -- it's a bunch of them. One time Lateef posted something that showed the words "Mandalorian Double" as a title/caption under Brendan's face (from the Gallery series), and he crossed out the word "double" so that it was clear he was saying that Brendan is the Mandalorian. lol And then he made sure to point out that Brendan is "much more than a gunslinger" (hinting at what Pedro said in the Gallery show about Brendan's gunslinger work, without actually mentioning Pedro's name). I've seen multiple Stories and posts with that same kind of thing. It's a tad passive-aggressive. I don't know what the deal is, but I don't think it's a wild conclusion to jump to that there is some weirdness going on there, based on what has been posted, though what has been posted could be misleading or giving off an impression that is not intended. But I still think that stunt guys know the drill when they sign on for projects. They are paid to make the actors look better by doing work that various actors can't or won't do, and they usually don't get much attention or focus. However, it doesn't mean that the main actors' contributions to the characters are insignificant or less important. I guess I just want everyone to get along and acknowledge each other's contributions to the character of Mando, and form a united front instead of the 2 stunt guys over in one corner and Pedro off in another corner! Together they are a diverse trio of men rolled into one character, and they should celebrate that. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that the helmet will come off in a fight, or in some unplanned way -- maybe someone pins down Mando and takes the helmet off of him. Or... perhaps, now that we have seen his face, there will be some scenes where we see his face when Mando is alone and no one is around him. There is the theory that Bo-Katan will show up and inform Mando that he doesn't have to wear the helmet all the time, but there are mixed reports as to whether or not she is even in Season 2. It's been reported that she is, but it has not been confirmed. I'm actually wondering if she might show up in Season 3 instead of Season 2. I think that however it happens, it will make sense. The scene in Chapter 8 may have been contrived, but it was important since we already knew that Mando hated droids and now a droid had to save his life. But in general, I feel that the reason we saw his face in Chapter 8 was because the plan was to start showing it more often in future seasons. If they wanted to keep the face hidden for the bulk of the series, I don't think they would have shown it at the end of Season 1. They didn't need to. They could have still set it up for IG-11 to save Mando, but cut away just as IG-11 was removing the helmet. They didn't do that. They wanted us to see Mando because we will see him again. We're seeing that Mando is a vulnerable human underneath the armor, and we're getting to know him as a person instead of as just a cold, jaded bounty hunter in armor. Plus, they can make use of Pedro's charisma, which was on full display in "Game of Thrones" and "Narcos," if they show him helmet-free when he is not bloody, sweaty and injured and actually looks normal! lol I don't have a problem with it. I think it will be bizarre to see Pedro Pascal, with no helmet, talking to Baby Yoda -- if that is something that happens at all -- but I'm cool with it, and I'm sure it will make sense in the context of what's happening in the scene. I really don't think we will see his face a lot, but just more than we did in S1. I don't think there will be rampant helmet-removal scenes left and right, in every episode -- but even if we got one helmet-free scene per episode, I'd still be OK with it. I am thinking it won't happen too often, though. Whatever the case, we know that Pedro said "There was more that I did in Season 2," and proceeded to talk about the discomfort of taking off a helmet many times in a day. Now "more" could mean another single scene of a helmet-less Mando, or it could mean he did more helmet-free scenes throughout Season 2. But I think it is guaranteed that we will see at least one helmet-free scene in S2. _____________________________________________________ 🤣 I see that Gina Carano is finding ways to work around the nudity issue on Instagram and still get her point across. 10. Okay, so I'm not going crazy. To be honest, when I linked that post from Brendan, I thought the exact same thing -- it seemed 'past tense-ish' to me too. But I didn't want to point it out and put that seed in anyone's mind because I assumed that both he and Lateef were happily returning for Season 3. (Hopefully this COVID-19 madness eases up long enough so they can actually start production in October, but it's looking uncertain here in L.A., as things continue to be canceled or shut down again and the number of people who have the virus continues to rise.) I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who got that 'past tense' impression from his post, even if it ends up meaning nothing! lol I, too, hope there were no rifts behind the scenes. I would like for Pedro to inhabit the role even more, and do more on-camera work, though he cannot do everything so Brendan and Lateef would still have their jobs. But I always get a very clear vibe and impression from Brendan & Lateef that Pedro doesn't exist to them. lol Brendan almost never mentions Pedro's involvement in the role on social media, but Lateef mentions him even less. Meanwhile, Pedro almost never promotes Mando-related things anymore (on social media), but he DOES mention both Brendan and Lateef in interviews. It's like Pedro's part of Mando does not exist to them. But Pedro is the name, voice and now the face attached to Mando, and he is probably getting a nice paycheck for his efforts. Why not let the guy actually BE the character he is being paid to play even more often? That could have been the plan all along -- to show Mando's face more in Seasons 2 & 3 and beyond. Brendan and Lateef shouldn't have expected that the helmet would always stay on after the face reveal in S1. I am not expecting Mando's helmet to come off in every episode of Season 2, but I'm sure we will see his face more than we did in Season 1.
  11. I agree. I mean, I understand her not wanting to be censored but I think she had to know that someone would report it. Again, even if Disney doesn't care about it, the moms of the young Cara Dune fans will care and they will report things left and right.
  12. Quite frankly, I don't know what kind of mayhem will ensue when Baby Yoda inevitably posts his own artistic nude photo. Instagram may shut down completely over that one.
  13. I guess it was only a matter of time before it happened... someone probably reported GIna's photo. I doubt that any of Gina's pre-Mandalorian fans would care that she posted that photo. However, playing Cara Dune on the show has probably gained her a lot of younger fans -- and those fans have concerned moms who probably didn't like that she posted the photo.
  14. Also, here is a very sweet post from Brendan Wayne about his fellow Mando stunt/body double Lateef. It's from a few days ago. It seems that Brendan and Lateef have bonded through their Mando work, and they are always supporting each other on social media, which is nice to see.
  15. 🤣🤣🤣 All good points! It's tricky when you're employed by a company that has a very well-established image. Gina is posting the photo now (even if it's an old photo), when she is currently still with Disney (we assume). Everyone knows Disney's brand and image. But even if Disney, for some reason, didn't care what their employees posted on Instagram, there are definitely PR people, publicists, agents, managers, etc., who don't want their clients to risk losing jobs and what not. There are always 'advisers' behind the scenes, trying to get their clients to make certain choices. So I guess I am more curious as to whether or not Gina cares about possibly ruffling some feathers, but it doesn't seem like she does. That's what made me wonder if she might not be back for Season 3 -- if she, for example, knew she was not coming back in S3, then she might not care what she posted and would be happy with her freedom to do whatever. Perhaps the plans for S3 will take Mando in a different direction that doesn't involve Cara Dune -- but Cara could always end up in one of the many, many planned Star Wars series in the works, whether or not she is part of Mando S3. Anyway, it's all very interesting! And yes, I, too, am wondering if that photo will stay up! You just know that someone out there must have reported it, but it's still there.
  16. When I saw that item pop up in various tweets scrolling down my Twitter page (and some of the corresponding comments seemed to be gleeful about this item), I thought that it must be targeted at the people who hate Baby Yoda's presence on the show -- the ones who loved that he was getting punched in Chapter 8. I mean, I'm on board with buying Baby Yoda merchandise, but I am not bopping or punching him. Just the idea of it is weird to me. I don't think about hitting things on a regular basis, whether they are alive or inanimate, so I'm not the target audience for that, I suppose. ________________________________________________ On another note -- and I was going to post about this later, but I will just comment on it now, while I'm here -- did anyone catch the artistic nude photo (topless, shot from the side) that Gina Carano posted on Instagram last night? There was some debate in the comments next to the photo as to whether or not it is an old photo of Gina from many years ago, or a photo of someone else. Either way, regardless of who is in the photo, when I was reading the comments last night I noticed that a couple of people mentioned that they were surprised to see the picture because she is working for Disney, and she might have younger followers who watch her on The Mandalorian, etc. Someone even asked why the photo had not been reported or flagged as offensive or whatever. I don't know if those comments are still there, but they kind of brought up a valid point. I am not judging someone for posting a photo like that -- it's up to them if they want to or not. And it's up to the viewer whether they are going to be offended or not. And it's up to Instagram to take it down or not take it down. BUT... it IS true that Gina is employed by Disney, and everyone knows that Disney is and has always been a brand known for being fairly wholesome and mostly family-friendly, not counting any of their acquisitions under other production company names. It's true that Gina might have some younger fans now. The Mandalorian, despite having some violent moments in it, is still mostly crafted as something that older kids/young teens could probably watch. It's not "adult" enough to be for adults only, I guess. It made me wonder if Gina thought about possibly upsetting the bosses at Disney with that photo (after all, Disney+ has a version of the movie "Splash" with Daryl Hannah's bare butt covered up). Maybe Gina didn't care? But I was also curious about the message she posted next to it -- which was a quote from Prince about freedom being sexy, with a magnet/horseshoe emoji at the end of it. For some reason, after seeing Gina's photo and "freedom" message, my mind instantly jumped to wondering if this is 'contract negotiation month' for the Mandalorian cast and crew. Did Gina sign on for Season 3? Maybe she is "free" from having to worry about what she posts because she is not on board for Season 3? I am just pondering, speculating and thinking aloud (hopefully she will be back for S3). I also wondered if Disney might have gotten to Pedro Pascal earlier in the week too -- he posted a cast photo from "Wonder Woman 1984" on Instagram (the same one that has been posted in a lot of places this past week), and it was gone from his page shortly thereafter. I wondered if Disney wanted him to take it down because Wonder Woman is a DC character, whereas Disney owns Marvel. Maybe there was a conflict of interest of some sort? But what a shame for Pedro if he can't promote this movie that has been repeatedly delayed due to COVID-19. I hope there was some other reason he took the photo down, and not because he is not allowed to promote his non-Disney work. Last night Pedro was also clapping back at some of the people complaining about one of his Instagram posts. I think he usually ignores them, but all of a sudden he was responding with snarky answers. He must have been in a mood. Someone said that he used to be one of their favorite actors but that changed. Pedro said something along the lines of (and I am paraphrasing), "That's too bad... well, no, I don't give a shit." lol So between Pedro's snarky replies and Gina's topless photo, they were stirring things up on Instagram last night! lol
  17. This Deadline article and video is apparently 4 days old, and yet somehow I never saw it prior to today -- even though I follow Deadline on both Twitter and Instagram. It seems like it must have flown under the radar for quite a few people on social media too. I think that the video in this article was edited down substantially, but it features Deborah Chow, Pedro Pascal and Dave Filoni talking about The Mandalorian. Click on the link to see the panel discussion and read the article.... "How ‘The Mandalorian’ Found His Own Path Apart From Boba Fett – Contenders TV" Deadline has an annual series of articles, videos and panel discussions called "Contenders TV" (focusing on possible contenders for Emmy award nominations). _________________________________________ Also, Collider hosted a "Directors on Directing" panel (it was prerecorded) that will be part of the new Comic-Con at Home virtual event in July. Robert Rodriguez will talk about his other projects, of course, but I have a feeling he was asked about his work on The Mandalorian too! "Collider Is Hosting a “Directors on Directing” Comic-Con@Home Panel"
  18. Well... despite more than a couple of people in the Hallmark family stating that Hallmark has to focus their movie-making efforts on Christmas now (to the point where Nikki DeLoach's Fall Harvest movie was apparently pushed to 2021, and 7 of Rick Garman's projects were pushed to 2021)...... Paul Campbell and Kimberley Sustad have reunited to shoot "Wedding Every Weekend" in Vancouver! They are filming it right now. I have no clue if Paul and Kimberley's wedding movie will be saved for a 2021 premiere, or if Hallmark will randomly throw it into an August or September slot this year. I'm just happy to see that there is some filming activity happening in Canada once again.
  19. So if it's not a trailer for Season 2, what could it be? Maybe an official premiere date for Season 2? Maybe an official, confirmed cast announcement from Disney or Lucasfilm? Maybe an announcement of a virtual panel discussion/event since Celebration is not happening? Maybe a promo poster/image for Season 2? Maybe an announcement of Season 1 of The Mandalorian on Blu-ray? Another Funko POP? A new variety of Hostess cupcakes that look like Mando's helmet? Okay, I'm grasping at straws now. I give up. Edited to add: Jordan has since reminded people that he never said the "Mando goodness" would have anything to do with Season 2. (Although I can see how it would be easy to jump to that conclusion.)
  20. I haven't had a chance to watch Love Under the Olive Tree yet, but will watch it today. I have not checked Hallmark's Facebook page in what seems like a long while, so I have no idea what anyone has been saying about the most recent new or new-ish movies airing on HC or on HMM. However, I saw a comment float by on Twitter that made me think there was something controversial in LUTOT. Since I have not watched it yet, I am guessing that maybe there was a hint of a same-sex couple or something like that? I can't think of anything else that would be controversial to Hallmark's audience unless there was something too risque or violent shown in the commercials. (Edited to add: Now I see DanaMB's comment above, about the hint of a gay romance!) Anyway, I always thought that olive oil seemed like an iffy subject to hold viewers' attention unless the 2 leads at the center of the story had great chemistry. However, if LUTOT had been kept in its originally planned Fall Harvest 2019 spot, it would have been sandwiched in between other Fall movies, and the general, consistent Fall theme of the event probably would have made up for some of the iffy elements (for me). Is LUTOT even still Fall-ish at all, or did they strip away the Fall embellishments? I will watch it in a few minutes... Edited to add again: I see that Hallmark has now included Love on Harbor Island (with Marcus Rosner and Morgan Kohan) in a promo. I think I mentioned here before that LOHI is an acquired movie they just picked up (it wasn't theirs when it was in production). It had two previous titles (Take Off to Love and Love at First Flight. It's directed and written by Lucie Guest (who has acted in multiple Hallmark and Lifetime movies). Another movie that Lucie directed -- Made for You, with Love -- has inexplicably had Hallmark's name attached to it since it was first in production, but it has never aired on Hallmark at all. It aired on the W Network in Canada. So LOHI will be Lucie's directorial debut on Hallmark -- though I am not sure if it is airing in August or in some other month.
  21. I love that picture! I'll almost forgive Taika for directing those two terrible Troopers to repeatedly punch the Child. One of my favorite excerpts from the article is.. 🤣 (Anyone who is Pedro's age or older, and who might not be in top physical condition at all times, can relate to the aches and pains.) I also liked this part... I think that the episodic, serialized version of Star Wars -- in a live action format -- was probably challenging to adjust to for people who were so used to the grand, sweeping, epic feature films. That's partially why a certain portion of the audience struggled with the middle episodes of Season 1 being kind of standalone-ish and not fully furthering the overarching story, or so they thought. But if they had known from the beginning (before it premiered) that this show was going to be more episodic and not just one giant movie broken up into 8 parts, it might have been easier to accept. This is funny --
  22. I saw something about this pop up on my Twitter feed, so I had to investigate. Bryce Dallas Howard says that she did, in fact, direct an episode of Season 2 of The Mandalorian. But the way she says it in this video interview, it's almost like she is hesitating and choosing her words carefully, like she's not sure what she can say. I thought she might say that she just directed a few scenes instead of a full episode, or that she was doing Second Unit work, like Sam Hargrave did. I thought she might say that she was actually directing something for Season 3 instead of Season 2. But she indicated that her work is on the second season. Here is the article with the video embedded in it -- "Bryce Dallas Howard on Directing ‘Dads’ and the ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ Script" Interesting! So that leaves the confirmed list of directors for Season 2 to be: Jon Favreau Dave Filoni Carl Weathers Rick Famuyiwa Bryce Dalllas Howard Peyton Reed Robert Rodriguez Sam Hargrave (as a Second Unit Director, to bulk up the action scenes)
  23. I was up in the middle of the night, watching the finale of the Disney Gallery Mandalorian season/series. There were lots of good bits of info in the episode. I posted more comments about it in the dedicated thread for the episode, but I was glad to see that /Film (Slash Film) wrote up an article about some of the tidbits that were revealed - because it's easier to share a link to an article than it is to explain it! This article is also good if you don't have Disney+ anymore, or have not yet seen the Gallery series. "Discover Mark Hamill’s Secret Role in ‘The Mandalorian’ and Other Surprises in the First Season"
  24. This was a really entertaining episode. It was not focused on the cast (although we do see quick snippets of Giancarlo Esposito and Carl Weathers on the set), but I enjoyed seeing Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, the round table of directors and the round table of behind-the-scenes people talking about the inside Star Wars references, and which creatures or props in The Mandalorian were originally seen in other Star Wars projects (or, in one case, in a Star Wars toy commercial). It was a lot of fun, and informative. Two surprising things I learned from this episode are that: 1) Mark Hamill voiced one of the characters in The Mandalorian (of course it was in Chapter 5, the Tatooine episode)!!!! I have not seen or heard one single person or Star Wars-focused YouTube channel mention this bit of trivia, so I am guessing that no one knew about it; and 2) The X-wing that was used at the end of Chapter 6 (when we see Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow and Rick Famuyiwa in their cockpits, about to blow up the ship with the guy that Mando put a tracker on) now resides in Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios in Florida!! (We don't have that same X-wing in Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in California, sadly). Favreau and Filoni really seem like kids in a candy store with this series, and they seem to have a fun, playful banter between them. As I mentioned in a previous thread, I am sad to see this Gallery series come to an end, because now there is a 4-month wait for Season 2, and we won't even get a panel at Comic-Con or at Star Wars Celebration. Gallery served as a nice complement to The Mandalorian's first season. I think that Disney might do a Gallery series for one of their other projects in the future, but I can't see any reason for them to do a Season 2 of Gallery just for The Mandalorian again. There wouldn't be much ground to cover as far as showing us how things are done. Edited to add: Slash Film wrote an article about a lot of the little tidbits revealed in this Gallery episode -- "Discover Mark Hamill’s Secret Role in ‘The Mandalorian’ and Other Surprises in the First Season" _____________________________________________________________ Also, I know that some people are expecting to see some sort of Mandalorian Season 2 trailer in conjunction with the final Gallery episode today. At most, we'd probably just see a short teaser, if anything, because I think they still have a a lot of VFX work to finish. We'll see if anything pops up by the end of the day, but I am not counting on it. But I still think that either July or August is more realistic to expect the first full Season 2 trailer. I've been saying here for months that Comic-Con in July and/or Celebration in August were the most likely times to look at as far as possibly getting new Mando news/trailers/panels -- that has not changed as far as thinking July and/or August are when we should expect to see a trailer. The only difference now is that, with Celebration not happening in any form (as far as we know right now), it gives the Comic-Con virtual event in July a slight advantage. Even though Comic-Con is doing a virtual event instead of the actual convention, and even though Star Wars Celebration is apparently not doing anything -- in person or online -- I still think that we will see a trailer around the time we would have seen it in conjunction with either Comic-Con or Celebration. I could be totally wrong and maybe Disney and Lucasfilm have some surprises up their sleeves, but July-August seems to make the most sense for a trailer given what we know of the current status of Comic-Con and Celebration. We'll see! I keep thinking that someone, somewhere, will throw together a dedicated Mandalorian panel discussion and trailer premiere since Celebration is not happening, but I don't know who would do it or when it would happen. It would seem like a missed opportunity if it didn't happen, since The Mandalorian is such a big hit for Disney+ and for Star Wars in general. The promotion and press for Mando, Season 2 should start ramping up by late August, and then building up throughout September -- but I don't think Disney will wait until September to show us the first trailer.
  25. I guess this is one of the things the casts and crews will have to be dealing with when preparing to shoot series or movies. Very long books of new guidelines, and certificates. This young actor is on When Calls the Heart, so he is ready to go --
