  1. Can you please make the book so that it plays the 90210 theme every time the reader opens it?
  2. Whenever Merrin Dungey is on Brooklyn 99 as Terry's wife, I really there to be a scene where he says "Terry loves yogurt" and she replies with "Francie doesn't like coffee ice cream".
  3. I kept waiting for someone to bring up Holt's texting
  4. I really wish that the Justified season one cliffhanger quote had just been Raylan making a gun noise, since that came after Boyd's line. But I guess that doesn't exactly count as dialogue
  5. I was excited to see Angie Tribeca's Beach Blanket Sting-O get featured - I've been catching up on the series this summer and saw that episode a few weeks ago. I keep saying "I'm not saying I'm gay or a necrophiliac, but if I was, I certainly wouldn't tell you guys" probably much to the chagrin of my husband.
  6. I'm a little sad that no one had a Dianne Wiest infection..... ...... ..... Like yeast!
  7. It's like the Canon has been reading my mind but then going in a different direction the last two weeks. For months I've been thinking about submitting either an episode of Catastrophe or an episode of Scrubs, but in both cases it was not what the submitter went with. For Scrubs, I would have gone with the Brendan Frasier episode. As Kim Reed mentioned, it's kind of a gimmick episode, but I think it actually does a great job showing what Scrubs is about - a mix of humor and at times gut punching sadness. On a similar note, I would have picked season 1, episode 4 of Catastrophe - it's the episode where Rob and Sharon find out that the baby is at an increased risk of Down Syndrome and Sharon Horgan puts in a particularly heart-wrenching and thought-provoking performance. Sorry to dredge up last week in this comment thread, I was behind in listening and then it also struck me funny that the Canon submissions matched up with shows I had thought about submitting for two weeks in a row. If next week's submission is Brooklyn 99's "The Party," I am going to be really creeped out.
  8. As someone who has adopted recently, I wanted to thank Allison for her insight on how This Is Us is handling the issues of adoption. I actually had to stop watching because I turned into a blubbering mess every episode, but I found many moments extremely real before myself and my tear ducts had to depart. I think a lot of shows don't know how to handle adoption, but This Is Us seems to be doing it justice...at least so far. During the tiny triumph section, did I hear that the original Extra Hot Great episodes are available somewhere? I would love to listen to them
  9. As soon as you said "Spider-Man, Spider-Man" I immediately starting singing the Moxy Fruvous version. I literally did a little cheer when you mentioned them. I'm American so it's pretty rare for me to encounter someone who knows them. Though they're somewhat tainted by Jian at this point, unfortunately
  10. With this as my text alert and "Cat Party" as my ringtone I might just be able to rule the world
  11. Ask and ye shall receive: https://clyp.it/zna0y133 You should be able to download it. Let me know if not. Oh my god, Christmas came early this year!
  12. I would like "get off your ass Alan Alda" as my text alert
  13. Actually I tried for about two and a half years to have a baby, so I guess I probably did whine for some point before that. I understand what you mean - that April shouldn't be complaining about being bored. But for all the things that Grey's gets wrong about being a parent, I think they actually got this right - the newborn phase is not always this rosy dreamy place. Sleep deprivation, being alone in the house with no one else to talk to...especially for April, who probably had a lot of support and company at first, but now that she's healed more, she's been left alone with her daughter. I think that's something that a lot of mothers experience to some degree and I have to imagine it would hold especially true for someone like April who's used to being in the ER and OR all the time. I honestly do appreciate a good April is insufferable rant though.
  14. Speaking as someone who has had a baby in the last year, I actually felt like April's boredom rang extremely true. There are people that adore the newborn period and float through it and there are others that find it quite isolating. I think she's fully appreciative of her miracle baby, but she's gone from being someone that leads an extremely active lifestyle (trauma surgeon) to sitting around the house all day with someone that can't even talk. I actually think this makes sense with the timeline - she probably had a lot of support, people stopping by to help and now everyone's back at work without her.
  15. I am in the middle of the venn diagram between Again With This listeners and those who have experience with deliveries. A premature baby may be born vaginally or via C-section. If the baby is in any sort of distress you want to perform a C-section because it gets the baby out quickly. Even with pushing out a small baby there's a chance that it may take awhile to push and you risk more complications - for example, the umbilical cord might come out first, become compressed and cut off the baby's oxygen supply. I have not watched this episode only listened to the podcast, but it's possible that the baby was in distress and needed to come out quickly.
  16. I was so delighted to be semi-mentioned I nearly drove off the road (I submitted the KODTVM with the dog eating Dan's (nee John Sears) donor heart)
  17. The tone Sarah had when she said "What kind of blow jobs are you people giving in Canada?" is everything.
  18. It was funny that Joe mentioned liking the musical episode of Grey's Anatomy as I've actually considered submitting it as a Nonac contender. The thing has stopped me is what halted the 70s Show entry (I accidentally type "the" instead of "that" which I thought was fitting) - I'm not certain that this group would ever induct an episode of Grey's Anatomy into the Canon. I agree with Joe that at least there is talent to back up the Grey's episode (I could listen to Sara Ramirez sing forever) but what a poorly executed episode. But not as poorly executed as the musical attempt of That 70s Show. Wow.
  19. Listening to the Nonac music on headphones while in the airport causes people to look at you like you're crazy
  20. Medical person lurking here - It's possible that Richard could determine that his friend wasn't taking care of himself without his glucose being so high that he would be passed out/lethargic. Long term high blood sugar levels can lead to diabetic neuropathy or decreased sensation, most commonly in the feet. If the friend's glucose was on the higher end (but without being in the coma/lethargy range), Richard could have run a test that determines what the average blood glucose has been for the patient over the past three months.
  21. For those of you who enjoy the 30 Rock Cleveland song, may I introduce you to the hastily made Cleveland tourism videos: and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZzgAjjuqZM I'm allowed to because I'm a Cleveland girl myself. And am very intrigued which pharmacies and bakeries Eve Batey frequented in her secret shopper days.
  22. I'm not thrilled that they killed Derek off but if they had to do it, I wish they had done it in a less flashy way. Maybe a heart attack, after all his heart had been damaged in the shooting. Or a blood clot traveling to his lungs or brain, maybe from all that flying across the country. Death doesn't have to be flashy to be dramatic. The best parts of the episode were the quiet ones with him and Meredith in the hospital. I would have preferred an entire episode of that over the spectacle we got
  23. Arizona didn't figure out Herman's blindness before Amelia did, she was just the first one to verbalize it. Amelia knew as soon as she told Herman to follow the light with her eyes and her eyes did not move. That's why Stephanie began crying when Herman asked if Amelia got the entire tumor, because she knew that she was blind. Amelia then notices Hunt/Webber entering the room and tips Herman off to who's entering to keep her from having to share the news for now if she doesn't want to. Amelia, Stephanie and Arizona all know as soon as Amelia performs the light test, Arizona is just the first one to say it outloud. And to whoever commented on the accessibility of Herman's room - most ICUs are designed so the nurse/staff is able to see several patients from the nurse's station. That way they can chart, etc, but still keep an eye on their patients. ICUs are often in closed units, but it wouldn't be unusual to have a lot of people in and out of the area, especially surgeons who would frequently be consulting in patients in that area.
