  1. Right, thank you. I think I even mentioned that in the write-up at the time and then promptly forgot it. I think I've always been confused by the whole question of Storybrooke relates to the real world. For a long time it was hidden away, and no one could come or go at all. Then so many barriers up and down and dwarves turning into trees. Can they order from Ikea and get UPS deliveries now? Do they vote in Federal elections? I know it's a dumb thing to harp on but it feels like it hasn't been given much thought, and it's one of those things where to suspend my disbelief I need to know what the rules are. "There's a magical bubble over this town" was stupid, but it's clear and it makes sense.
  2. "No, I mean, it's just, like...if some oracle told you you were going to kill your father and marry your mother, wouldn't you just never kill anybody and stay single? And then, if you did inadvertently kill somebody, in the heat of the moment or something, and later started dating, wouldn't you be smart enough to, like, avoid older women? I mean, to me the moral of that story is not 'your destiny awaits you.' To me it's...you know...'Do the Fucking Math.'" -Richard Greenberg, Three Days of Rain
  3. Aw, that's so sweet of you! But I will not. And I would feel very guilty if that's why you watched. (But no judgment if you want to watch for any other reason!)
  4. Yeah no it's REAL bad. They're obviously not together, obviously not on the beach, AND they've all been retouched within an inch of their lives. They didn't even try to hide it either; their individual cast photos are the exact same pics.
  5. Nice references! :) It was a matter of execution and explanation for me. It played as if Regina had EQ's original potion. As if a bottle of wine were only meant to get two people drunk but if we all drink from it we'll stay sober, including the two lightweights who've already had 7/8 of it and passed out. Maybe it was meant to be like Barnabas, and Regina took it out of them offscreen, so the magic actually in them could be spread around, but it didn't play that way to me.
  6. Yeah I had to rewind. All that business with the flowers and I was like "But wasn't there a flower in her video??" It was just petals in the video though, so they had to find the source.
  7. Any time we revisit cursed Storybrooke I'm reminded of my very first question about the show: How was this a good deal for Regina? Why did it make her happy? She seems as miserable as anyone else. And since they don't know they're cursed, they don't even know what they're missing. I guess she take pleasure in seeing them unhappy but they're not even really the same people. And she doesn't get her magic or her fun clothes! It's always seemed like a terrible plan.
  8. Ooh, Claire's jacket with the stripe on the sleeve. #90s
  9. Ah, thank you! I almost threw that into the write-up as a question but decided to skip it. They lingered on it long enough that I figured it had to mean something. And that one of you would get it.
  10. Blurgh, yes. Sorry/thank you. I blame the fact that I was just at Disneyland where the old 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride is now a Finding Nemo ride. Shmushed stories everywhere. :-) (They also had some OUAT costumes on display, which was unexpected and cool.)
  11. Why does the student editor of a college newspaper have spreadsheets on her desk? #propcop
  12. Better than "Ill-Boning Patterns." I'll show myself out.
  13. If I remember correctly, it's something that come up with his protégé when he was testifying. I thought he had apologized and that was his admission of guilt. There was more but there was so much going on in the story that I can't remember. So many characters, so many law firm changes, etc. Perhaps someone else can chime in. I think it was the finale when Diane slapped Alicia for humiliating her by revealing the affair through her line of questioning. That's correct, it was the alleged affair with Megan Hilty's character from the finale.
  14. I refer to the fan wiki and past posts A LOT. I'm frankly surprised you guys don't fact-check me more. (This is not an invitation to do so, thank you.)
  15. Solid point re the witches with guns. I'm pretty sure it was Sylvie. Dorothy was bringing the giant(s) to use against Glinda. Sylvie has stone-related killing powers. Glinda brought her, she started vibrating, the giants crumbled. Ergo... I could be wrong but that's what makes sense to me. Why would D destroy her own weapon?
  16. I can't decide if Leslie's constant intensity is an acting choice or how she talks because of her accent.
  17. That's why she needs her money back from the old firm, but they're being dicks about it. It's like some sort of partnership deposit they owe her.
  18. I'm 41 years old and I can't make a bed any better than Brandon.
  19. For me, it's not about the money, it's about having to get another damn proprietary app. And I have an Apple TV so it's not even difficult. It's just the principle. A standalone thing for ONE show? If it were on iTunes or Amazon, services I use all the time, I'd pay without thinking about it, and it would cost more per episode than the monthly cost of CBS All Access breaks down to. I'll do it anyway (even if I weren't writing about it here) because I like the show and I'll want to watch Star Trek later too, but I'll be irritated about it. I'm fascinated by how many of you on this board for TV die-hards are right out.
  20. Hm, probably not to hard to "fly to Canada" then... FWIW CBS All Access is available on basically everything. I don't know what your setup is (I'm not sure how easy it is to get new apps on smart TVs, for example...I know they sometimes just appear on my TiVo), but you can get it on Apple TV, Roku, Fire, etc., game systems, and all that. Not an endorsement, I just researched for the New Show Fact Sheet. They shot alternate takes. Diane's "fuck" upon learning her money is gone is "son of a bitch." (Baranski sells it just as well.) Also, I'm pleased to report that they appear to have CG'ed the Chrysler Building out of the view from Diane's office between the screener and air. :)
  21. My notes: "The door is locked. Dancing on the ceiling!" :) I think the idea is that the new girl just ignites whenever she feels threatened, and a pile of strange ladies falling on top of you would certainly feel threatening. But it's true that the wizard wouldn't know that. Also if the pit was meant to trap her or protect her or both, why was it uncovered then? I watched it again last night (I watch screeners for the write-ups but my boyfriend watches too so I often see at least parts of them again when they air) and it made even less sense on repeat viewing.
  22. No sexism intended, I just wanted to make the lion/cougar joke. Anyone who wants to and can get with either Oliver Jackson-Cohen or Joely Richardson can and should and has my full support!
  23. I'm so curious to know if this episode was specifically crafted for a world in which anyone who doesn't watch live is bound to be at least A LITTLE spoiled or if that just heightened the normal Jane craziness. Watching knowing that something big was coming but not knowing what was SO STRESSFUL. Would Rogelio die? Would Mateo? Was she pregnant? Would Petra kill the babies? Ferris wheel accident? Oh ok everything's fine...oh! I should've realized Michael had the same symptoms as Jonathan Larson!
