  1. I liked the teen scene. Besides damn near all the "vets" were introduced via the teen scene. That is how we used to learn about these characters. We watched them develop from young adults to the screwed up misfits they are now. The show used to be mutli generational and it needs to go back to that. I don't need them leading stories but having younger characters around is never a bad thing. I suspect Reed is the start of that. They will likely build that scene around him like they did around so many others back in the day.
  2. I don't think that was the case since Nick is her younger brother and has adult kids. It was more of the case that Victoria became a parent later in life and I think they were slightly attached to the kid who played Reed. They doesn't seem to be the case anymore and I suspect the fact she has two smaller children has allowed them to finally branch out in her stories. No need for Victoria's son to live off screen and have her with three small kids. Glad they aged him up and now she can play these kind of stories. A nice change for her especially with her love life gone to hell. Refocus her character and let her deal with obvious teen angst to come. Reed should be a little bitter and I am sure will feel some type of way about Johnny and Katie, especially Johnny.
  3. Great casting. He does look a lot like AH. It will be interesting seeing Victoria deal with older kid stories. She has never been in that situation.
  4. This would be how Billy would react. You are not wrong about that. I also feel this is suppose to be how it comes across on screen since we have had Jill, Ashley, and even Michelle comment on him. I think the main issue is that we are officially in the transition scripts (Sally's stuff debuts in 10 episodes) and this really screws with Billy who is already a mess of a character. He just seems bipolar right now. One minute he is weepy about Victoria marrying someone else and the next he making sex eyes with Phyllis. That doesn't work. It is confusing. We know Sally wants to repair the family dynamics of the show. The actors keep mentioning that so I do think Jack and Billy will be a long work in progress. Jack will take his sweet ass time to forgive Billy and rightfully so. We need to see Billy put in the work to make that relationship heal. That will also ground Billy as a character. I am not saying change his rascal ways. He is a screw up. The issue was he was never a hateful asshole. His screw ups usually came from doing something misguided and he was always remorseful. That is Billy. Another character I feel is in a weird transition is Hilary. I have no idea what is going on with her. Clearly they see her as the new trouble making diva of the show. I am not against it as we have always had one. I just need it to make sense. Hopefully she is more fleshed out under Sally's regime.
  5. I recall Jack handing the divorce papers to Phyllis to get his assistant to file and she slammed them down on the desk. Maybe it was all for show and after Phyllis left he took the files back and the reveal is that he never signed them. Dun dun dunnnnn.
  6. I read the articles. There is also a picture of Jack and Abby at the cabin with a fire extinguisher. I don't think the Abbotts bail on Jack. I bet it is the other way around. My feeling is he wants to be alone and they all surround him anyways. I also wouldn't be surprised if Jack is hostile for a bit and Billy leaves. Probably how he sees Travis and Victoria and then he will go back to the cabin where the healing can begin. Phyllis and Billy getting closure scenes were needed. Funny yet appropriate they are still all about Jack since he was really the source of their affair anyways. Still they needed to put a button on them in that sense and I am glad they are. No more wondering if they might. He finally picked his brother. Jack signed the divorce papers. We saw him and Phyllis do it together but I wouldn't be surprised if Jack hasn't filed them yet. That is definitely something he would do. He is having second thoughts and I can still him keeping that a secret for a good long while until he is ready to admit things to himself.
  7. I don't think it means TR is out. I can very easily see him staying but might be rewritten differently. In fact I bet that is the case because SSM could have easily just written him out in December. Simple as that. TR seems way to thrilled. He was never like that with Pratt even when he would announce his upcoming appearances. It was always kind of like "Yeah I am back...for a day or whatever." kind of thing. SSM seem to be able rebuilding families and like it or not he is Cane's father and Lily's kids grandfather.
  8. This must be about whatever is going on with Jill that SSM said in her article. He is basically on every day until he leaves.
  9. I believe you. Sometimes affairs need to just be that. Some can turn into more and become a story but that is not usually the case. I liked Phick's affair but the aftermath was boring. Then it became a Sharon/Phyllis fan war. It wasn't even about Nick anymore. In the beginning I could see how Philly could be drawn to each other and even have a ONS, but that is where it needed to end. It should have played way differently. Both needed to feel guilty because they loved Jack. Trying to make it a love thing and making Billy OTT obsessed with her while loathing Jack was ridiculous. Can you blame SSM for wanting to end it?
  10. I did have to laugh at the Daytime Confidential Podcast folk shadying the Phyllis/Billy fans losing their shit on social media. Those people in the beginning were very high praising the affair and now they like "Fuck Philly!" Made me laugh. They all had great points in that once the affair ended so did the story. It became boring and the chemistry died after the "naughty" was removed. It is time to end it. It wouldn't even rank Top 50 of Y&R affairs.
  11. I think Sharon finding her father is an ideal storyline. It would give her and her kids something rich to play.
  12. I totally believe TPTB read messageboard. The actors have admitted they have as well. Philly was panned on damn near ever Y&R I have been on. They had their fans but overall people weren't feeling them and explained why. I know Mal Young was a big fan but it seems that not many others were. It explains the clunky writing for them. They couldn't committ fully even if they liked the chemistry. But now SSM is here and she is like "Noooooope."
  13. The meltdowns everywhere are amusing. I love how SSM gives zero fucks to the stans and said what she felt. It is refreshing.
  14. Well I don't think you have to worry about Billy messing with Phack anytime soon. Seems Sally would rather we forget it ever happened.
  15. Well of course anything can happen on a soap. I was more saying she was around when Victoria was around and they didn't stop Villy from kicking it. I don't want Villy to reunite. I would love for her to have a storyline not about romance for a while and focus on work and her kids. Fix her as a character.
  16. Villy got together when Mackenzie was on the canvas. In fact Mac had just dumped Billy. He was mopey for like 3 seconds and then became infatuated with Victoria. So I don't think it will mean much of anything.
  17. Grab some popcorn because Sally Sussman doe not hold bacK! http://www.tvinsider.com/article/102922/the-young-and-the-restless-new-head-writer-sally-sussman-answers-our-burning-questions/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=TVGM
  18. Billy doesn't even have to admit it. His actions are proving it. Billy went from begging Victoria to being obsessed with Phyllis while loathing Jack to now back to wanting his family with the Abbotts and Victoria. It kind of screams he was going through a phase. Billy talked a lot of game during Philly about fighting for Phyllis but he hasn't really lifted a finger in all of this. He flirts. She rejects. He leaves. Says a lot actually. But yes, I do suspect IF they are trying to reunite Villy that Billy will be shown to make it very clear that she is who he wants. We already got him waxing poetic about missing his children and now out of the blue he is about Victoria. The reintroduction of Reed to the canvas shall also be interesting. He will be a teenager and we all know that means angst. How much you want to bet this will be a story to showcase a gentler side of Billy. He will help the boy. As for Traci. She is clearly back to mend the broken Abbotts. That has always been her role. She lives in NYC and maybe she hears about Jack's transfer and reaches out to Phyllis. Traci is going to be sticking around for a while according to the actress so Traci will be plenty busy with that dysfunction. It will be nice seeing all the Abbotts together. They need to heal. I do think it is different. Shadam went on for years. Got married. It was a whole damn back and forth mess. Philly barely hit a year and both already looking in other directions. It truly was a plot point relationship that fizzled once the plot was over.
  19. I get that sense as well. Travis is being really annoying these days and Billy, while still a jackass, is presented like the more logical one. I do think Billy wants Victoria and their life together back and is determined to break up her relationship to do it. He is playing games. He literally spent the last episode doing mind games with both of them and it worked! Travis knows he fucked up with Victor. He should be trying to smooth things over instead of acting like the man is his coworker and not his boss. Getting drunk and trying to fight Billy in the middle of the day with the kids upstairs? WTF? He has lost his mind. Then he runs to his ex after the fight and is clearly about to have some drunk sex that he will no doubt regret once he sobers up. Billy is playing this perfectly. He acts differently with both of them. With Victoria he is being charming (I guess) and supportive but with Travis he is provoking constantly so when he does react he can play it off with Victoria. My question is when did this switch occur? 2 weeks ago he was obsessed with Phyllis and now he is stalking Victoria. But at least he not stalking Phyllis anymore. Jack's fight of temptation is over. His heart can't deal with it but everything else in him is over it. I will give it to Phyllis for not trashing Sharon. She related because she completely screwed up her own life, so who is she to talk? The show making it clear that Jack is who she wants. He is who she thinks about. The Philly stuff seems dead but who knows. And Traci is back next week. I think she will be trying to help Phack reunite. Based on BTS pictures they are currently filming the New Years Eve episodes. Everyone are all dressed up at the TOT for what appears to be a gala held by the AbbottsWinters Foundation. So far I am impressed by SSM's production decisions. Very curious to see how the scripts play out.
  20. That casting screams Reed. Glad he coming back full time. I never understood keeping him off canvas. Sally so far is winning in my book.
  21. I am sure someone from TPTB fed him some tidbits but I doubt he knows exactly how it plays out. Hell his own spoilers articles never play out how he says. So I will take him with a grain of salt even if I do think Sharon will come out of this better than some believe.
  22. I don't think they "leave together" but I have heard he is leaving as well. I think it will be played more of Tricky falling apart over this drama with NE and the ex showing up won't help things either. I also heard it was his choice, not the shows as he didn't want to be contract right now. So they decided to write him out since there is a new regime in place.
