I've been noticing lately that Meghan reads statistics off her blue cards to prove her points. That's not why I watch this show. I want to see Meghan try to have a discussion without her freaking blue cards and her Google Hat on. It's like .... what if you're having brunch with friends and having a difference of opinion? No one, I guarantee, NO ONE whips a stack of cards out of her purse and starts reading. Argue your beliefs and your knowledge, Meghan. Just like Sunny does.

AND one on the front, in front of the "grabbed her by the" area. That's just tacky. And stupid. Maybe the wardrobe department of The View is under contract to feature D&G outfits a certain number of times a year? The only good thing was that Joy managed to mention Meghan's pussy and totally throw her off her rant.

Trey Gowdy must be a pro at keeping his face neutral, because I can't believe he was able to not let out a loud guffaw when Meghan told him that he should have consulted her before announcing his retirement. I let out that guffaw for him. He knows, like most people with a brain, the electoral shitstorm that is going to erupt in November for Republicans if Trump is still in office.

Remember months ago, when something really significant happened (maybe some indictments came out from Mueller?), and Meghan opened her yap and wouldn't let Sunny speak? She went on a stream-of-consciousness tirade and included the gassing in Syria, and every piece of crap she could think about, probably including the color of her teenage bedroom wallpaper, and finally, when she came up for air five minutes later, Sunny said, "Do you mind if we talk about the major piece of news that came out of Washington today?" That must be her default. Scream and screech and harangue and obfuscate and change the subject. I bet it has worked for her in the past. Not so much on this show. One of the truest lessons I ever learned is, Difficult people act difficult because it works for them. Let's see if Meghan can figure out that this objectionable behavior is NOT working for her on this show. (I bet she can't learn new tricks.) And I bet her husband is encouraging her to act like this. Do either of them realize that she is making Joy look wonderful? She's practically Joy's straight man.

My ears are bleeding. For all that I loathed Jedidiah not letting others speak, Meghan took it to new heights today. She is vile. This is what I wrote to ABC on the feedback section of the website:

For a brief thrilling moment, I thought Whoopi had forgotten to cheerlead "Welcome To The View, y'all!" at the top of her lungs 25 times at the opening. But nope, Ol' Leatherlungs made an appearance after all. One of the many delights of the Friday shows is that they begin with an indoor voice saying, "Welcome to The View." Thank you, Joy Behar.

I really wish they would air "golden oldies" of this show instead of shows that were just on. Seems like squandering a good opportunity. I will (re)watch Friday, because those heroes were a hoot.

Just adding a bit late -- YES. My sister and I still fall apart when we remember her wedding reception. She was standing there IN HER WHITE DRESS and an elderly aunt went up and told her she wasn't getting any younger and it was time to start having kids. Literally, she had been married 45 minutes at that point. She. Was. Still. Wearing. Her. Wedding. Dress.

At one point, he was not only a good reporter, but a crusader. In the early 1970s, as a local New York ABC reporter, he gained access to a home for the developmentally disabled and exposed it for the absolute hellhole it was. Google "Geraldo Rivera" and "Willowbrook" for details. It was stomach-turning, the conditions those kids were kept in, and his muckraking reporting got it closed. He was the real thing back then: good-looking, a ground-breaking reporter, and a (non-ironic) social justice warrior. I do agree with you that he became a joke. And his career trajectory right into sensationalism and reaching for the lowest common denominator makes me sad.

And yet she is incensed when anyone goes anywhere near criticizing soldiers or prisoners of war, because she is related to someone who went through that ordeal. Victim-by-proxy, that's Meghan. Then she has the gall to criticize kids who saw their friends and teachers slaughtered by weapons of war ... in a school ... in one of the nicest and safest communities in Florida. She's insufferable.

I don't wish ill on Sen. McCain at all, but when he passes, I have to believe Meghan will leave the show. Not for any reason except it's really hard to carry on after losing a parent you are close to. I lost my mom at the end of 2016, and I'm just now able to be composed in public again. And as insufferable as I find Meghan on the show, I do give her props for giving it her all. She is a True Believer - she isn't just phoning it in. I don't know what role she sees herself playing, but she's wholly invested. As someone who similarly wears my emotions right out there for the world to see, I can't imagine her coming back to The View after losing someone she idolizes and loves.

She's using her husband's talking points. The same husband who got canned after three days with the Washington Post for plagiarism. The same Meghan who says no man speaks for her.

The ABC website sells merchandise with "Take a little time to enjoy The View" on it. Whoopi is messing with their brand when she says whatever stupidity she thinks it should be.

To be brutally honest, this is what drug addicts do. Not that most of them have their own foundation to steal from, but they will literally steal from their families, their jobs, their children, their churches, strangers, friends, it doesn't matter. The addiction is their god and master. This article is written like it's a moral failing, and there's a case for it being so, but more and more I'm embracing the idea that addiction is a disease and should be treated as such. We don't trash people for getting most diseases, we (hopefully) enable them to get care. Betty Ford was sympathized with when she had breast cancer, and called brave for admitting and beating her alcoholism. It would be awesome if Cindy McCain focused on her past and became poster child for speaking out as to the depths that drug addiction can take a person. It's not just for ghetto folks.

I'm wondering if she has fantasies of being the President or First Lady. After all, she's spent her lifetime in politics! EvilCita is wondering what Word-A-Day Calendar she got, and if we can figure out what "five dollar word" she'll be using (or misusing) in advance.

Why is a trust fund baby getting all bent out of shape because she can't get her 18 percent discount on travel? Honestly, I would think she would be embarrassed to ask for it. I bet she never has. I find it ironic and tragic that the NRA is fine, just fine, with our children being literally shot to pieces in their school hallways, but has a breakdown when they lose discounts on rental cars. Priorities! I would love to see Meghan come to the table with half the sass, balls, and intellect that the surviving kids from Parkway, Florida, have demonstrated.

When I was a Monkees-idolizing kid, I was insanely jealous when I'd read the Letters section of Tiger Beat and 16, and all these little girls would be writing in to say, "I'm taller than Davy!" He was, according to the album cover, 5'5" -- and I topped out at 5'3-1/2". Nope, never was going to be taller than Davy. It burned, it burned! In 1986(ish), a friend and I drove to Vegas to see the Monkees' reunion tour. I was close to 30, still not tall, but had mastered high heels. We found ourselves next to Davy (in a crowd) at a gaming table. I looked over and noticed something odd - I was looking down at the top of his head. I very surreptitiously slipped off my shoes and I was still looking at him from a slightly higher angle. So take that, all you bragging little heifers who wrote your letters: I TOO was taller than Davy!

Ana... again. I hope this is a good sign of things to come.

Exhibit A of how to be gracious in the face of criticism is sitting right across the table from Meghan. Joy mentioned that she herself (not a family member) was booed at CPAC, and laughed about it and went merrily on with the show. That's how you do it, Meghan. Don't ever let them see you sweat.

The time stamp -- was she literally at the table when she answered this?

The most relatable version of Meghan we ever got was when her dad was on the show. It's possible they are throwing a Hail Mary play and hoping lightning strikes twice. Because Everyday Meghan is so unpleasant to watch. She doesn't have a sense of humor or a sense of fun. She never can admit being wrong. Or fallible. Watching her is, to use a phrase, exhausting. I've come to the point where I read here before I watch the show to see what segments to avoid. I have to believe they are having Cindy McCain on in hopes that it makes Meghan act like less a Foxbot and more a human being.

I am not attempting to use bad taste, but didn't Meghan say that the signatures had to be at the White House by mid-March? That's an awfully long time to wait for a funeral for a young man who died a hero's death in mid-February. It may make Meghan (and others) feel better for him to have that honor, but it's up to his family, period. Often the funeral is cathartic and is when the healing process begins. (I recently had two very hard deaths of family members, and I realize that "healing" is a trite word after a tragedy, but rituals and shared grief are a thing for a reason -- they do help survivors move past the terrible limbo of having a loved one transition from someone you saw every day to someone you will never see again.) If it's the family's desire to wait for the possibility of a full military funeral, that's exactly what they should do. But it feels that this petition ever-so-vaguely is taking it out of their hands. I really would like to hear Meghan talk about the NRA and how she feels about it in light of her membership and the fact that the current gun laws allowed the murderer to obtain an assault weapon before he could legally obtain an alcoholic drink. She's not really one for introspection, and I imagine she would simply quote a meme.

Whoopi rolled her eyes at Holly, and I was so happy Holly nicely put her in her place. She does the same with Sunny, but is ruder about it. She hasn't had successful marriages, so she disdains anyone who is making an effort, and talks about how much work it is to be happily married. I really think she thinks the only right way to live is the way she does it. And when her life doesn't meet up with her standards, she lies about it (she lectures on being a good parent, but her mother raised her kid, and Whoopi's kid had a kid at a very young age, just as Whoopi did). Of course everyone thinks the way they are living their lives is the best way, but few think it's the only way. Whoopi apparently feels that way. So hooray for Holly for pushing back, politely. I hope Sunny is taking notes.
