  1. Do we break it to Meghan that joining a show after the season has commenced, and being re-signed for the next season which has not begun yet, is not a definition of "last[ing] more than one season on the show"? I used to work at a law firm and we had a very dim-witted, if sweet, paralegal. I worked with a guy from Texas, definitely the strong silent type, and one day our dim-but-sweet paralegal did something pretty stupid. I think of my colleague's phraseology often when I think of Meghan: "Ignorant little thing, ain't she?"
  2. I just wrote ABC and told them that the combo of not-very-bright Republican Meghan on the same panel with firecracker Republican Ana was ratings gold, and they really must hire Ana since they were ill-advised enough to rehire Meghan. (I was nicer, but that was the gist of it.) Should you care to share your thoughts with ABC, the link is https://abc.go.com/feedback.
  3. Like THAT wasn't a well-rehearsed line? She's probably had it written on her hand in ink all season.
  4. Excuse me? Meghan actually told Joy, "We're not going to debate that now"? She really got a swelled head when she got re-signed, didn't she? Now she's the "star" of the show (polite way of saying she never shuts up) and the moderator who decides what topics will and won't be discussed? Also, she says she "got a new perspective" on health care after her father's diagnosis, and says it like it's a shameful secret. "I admitted it on national television!!!" Well, that's not something to be ashamed of, Meghan. That's what thinking, feeling adults do! Unless people are so insecure about being wrong that they can't or won't open their minds, people get new information, either via facts or life experiences, and they sometimes change their perspectives. That's how life works. Most people change and evolve as they gain knowledge and encounter new things. Congratulations on progressing down the road of life.
  5. This is my fantasy. When she starts taking over the table, and screeching, and demanding that she alone be allowed to talk... they cut her mic. It would be awesome if the rest of the panel just ignored her and kept on talking, and no one could hear little Meghan except the poor studio audience.
  6. Interesting. I read somewhere since Meghan's "I Hate Her" tweet that it's further evidence that she's playing a role on The View. I believe it. She is always explaining "Trump's Base" when she is not part of it. It make me wonder whose idea it is for her to be "The Voice Of Republicans" as opposed to Just Meghan. Whoopi and Joy certainly don't try to paint themselves as the "explainers in chief" for all Democrats. They explain why they feel the way they do, and it certainly doesn't come from the DNC. So who it telling Meghan she needs to explain Trump's base over and over again, especially when she isn't part of it?
  7. Kind of rich for Meghan to call someone else "crooked" when her own husband was fired for plagiarism within a week of being hired by the Washington Post. You know who has never been found to be a plagiarist? Hillary Clinton.
  8. Friday is Must See TV for me. And I've been recording Sharp Objects without watching it, so Amy Adams' appearance will be a nudge for me to catch up.
  9. Meghan is ridiculous. She really is a Mean Girl who, like most bullies, can dish it out but can't take it. Put her on a Real Housewives show. She would be a better fit there than on The View.
  10. True. No one who proudly calls themselves a "Deplorable" will ever come around to seeing and voting Democratic. Trump was absolutely right, he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and they would find a way to justify it. Democrats need to concentrate on the undecideds and getting out the vote. That's what will be successful. Success will not come by trying to convert people who see everything through their own partisan spectacles. Van Jones is living in Kumbaya-Land if he truly thinks Trump's strongest supporters can or will change their minds. They will go to their graves thinking he's the Second Coming.
  11. Meghan of course interpreted Sherri's comments wrong (and God bless Sherri not only for saying them, but for being tactful). It's not that we all shouldn't take what's going on seriously. Joy takes it seriously, and I bet the rest of the panel does too. But Meghan is so determined to be The Voice Of The Republican Party (TM) that she rarely lets herself just be Meghan. Look, girlfriend, no one cares about your wildly insane efforts to explain Trump's base to us. I would like to hear Meghan say, "This is how I feel," rather than screeching "It's exhaustttttting trying to explain this to youuuuuu!" That's what Sherri meant by she needs to lighten up. Just be Meghan, not the spokesmodel/Professional Pimp of the GOP.
  12. And the pointing! FFS, keep your fingers to yourself, ladies!

  14. Nope. Nope. Nope. They put another Trump-supporting nepotism-touting conservative at the table, and I'm outta here. Sara was never a conservative, and there's no need to replace her with anyone like Abby Huntsman.
  15. Already?! So is this the last week, or the penultimate one? (I wonder if they'll do some boring pretaped shows to run to try to fake us out.)
  16. That's what Rosie O did, and that's why the four-day work week. Might work for Ana as well. She does a lot of commentator stuff on CNN, etc., but that's via Skype, so it wouldn't matter where she was for that.
  17. Was it Van Jones who came on a while back and said the Democrats should be open to Trump? If so, I'd be very interested in hearing what he has to say now.
  18. I'm sorry to hear this. Sara's maternity leave really highlighted her worth to the show, IMO. They need someone who's sweet, and funny, and neutral.
  19. It really would annoy her. She likes to think she speaks for "all Republicans." And Ana, who is a lifelong conservative Republican, loathes Trump and his actions. Ana being there takes away several of Meghan's speaking/screeching points: (1) that 89% of Republicans support Trump, (2) that Republicans are "tribal," and (3) that it's the Democrats who are "fractured" and need to speak as one. Ana is a conservative Republican because she decided to be one, intellectually and emotionally, and she can support that decision. Meghan feels she is one by birthright and can't articulate well why she is what she is. My feeling is that, birthright be damned, if she could, she'd make a living in entertainment and lifestyle journalism. She wouldn't need blue cards, she's clearly interested in that more than she is in politics, and she'd be a lot happier. (And so would I!)
  20. The Fox/Deplorables loathe Joy because she's a smart, mouthy, liberal woman who speaks her mind. That's a whole lotta "bad" to them. In fact, it's become a badge of honor to declare on Facebook that "I've never watched The View and I never will!" Joy was a wise woman to take a day off. Not that she couldn't have handled it, she handles everything without it getting to her, but why should she put up with it? Let's face it, the Judgmental "Judge" came to bag Joy. She came to pimp a book about the "intolerant left" being liars. Joy was in her crosshairs, like a rare rhino to a big game hunter, and it's kind of funny that she was upset that a smart, mouthy, conservative woman (Ana) was there instead. Her agenda got messed with, and that set everything off on the wrong foot. It's no coincidence she came running home within ten nanoseconds to Fox and Hannity, and then Fox and Friends. Those were prebooked appearances for her to play victim, trust my instincts on that! She came to The View as a guest in their home. She came to make money from her appearance, by promoting her book and her tv show. And this is how a guest acted? Lying and pointing her finger (something my other View group still can't get over) and calling them names and swearing at them in front of their audience? That's not very good-guest-like behavior. Did the Judgmental "Judge" really call the panel "cocksuckers" in front of the audience? One way to find out. If I were in that audience, I'd be singing like a canary, either to confirm or deny.
  21. To Trump's base, The View is disgusting propaganda (how dare a panel of women speak their minds!) and Joy is the number one person they hate. In their silly misspelled and over-capitalized blogs, they write headlines like "Republicans SCHOOL Crazy Joy Behar On The ViewII!" and "Meghan McCain Talks SENSE, and DESTROYS Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar!!!" It makes sense that JP was upset Joy wasn't there. I'm guessing she had a whole script memorized targeting Joy. It also makes sense that Joy decided not to be there and throw off the agenda. I kind of love that JP had to go running to the mothership at Fox and tell Sean Hannity what a victim she was of those mean, horrible liberals on The View. Like lifelong Republicans Ana Navarro and Meghan McCain. Call the waaaaambulance!
  22. Kind of funny that the tweet JP writes talks about the "intolerant left" and shows lifelong conservative Republican Ana Navarro smirking at JP and her famous pointing finger. Sorry, JP, you don't come into someone's territory as an invited guest and point your finger and call them deranged. Simple manners. Go take a lesson from Stormy Daniels about how to be ladylike on a talk show.
  23. I'm in another View group with a lot of feisty, fed-up black women. They are very pro-Whoopi. They loved today's show, but were particularly outraged at JP pointing a finger at Whoopi, and delighted at Whoopi's response to same. Do NOT mess around and point your finger at a grown-ass woman!
  24. Kind of a former host... once or twice a month. Whoopi must be overjoyed:
  25. It's coming to Jersey. I thought everyone looked good today, and there was a real lack of cross-talk for most of the show. I think they were all very aware that today a lot of people would be watching to see their reactions. The View is hated passionately by Trump's people, as we hate Fox News. They especially loathe Joy, with Whoopi a close second. They all looked nice and they all behaved today... no use in having a personal throwdown when a lot of eyes would be on them.
