  1. 1. You worked hard to get to 42. I'd say enjoy it. Alternative - move here. We venerate our elderly. 2. I've had fray hair since I was 9 years old, so it's really, really, really not a sign of ageing. And I used to insist on not covering my greys to reinforce that. But then a friend said, do Henna / Mehendi - you'll get red strands in all the black - it will look nice. So that's what I've been doing since I was - 21? I should get them done every 2 months, every six months is what happens. But it's got the added benefit of conditioning my hair and no harmful chemicals even. Is that a possibility for you? 3. That seems to be all I have to say. I have to get up and go to work in 5 hours. Gak.
  2. I know ad hominem is a terrible argument but (1) I'm not sure I believe Colin Sweeney when he asserts that Diane suggested he lie to Alicia. He's perfectly capable of coming up with something like that on this on. (2) I'm not sure i believe Renata when she asserted that she killed Morgan. That felt like normal Sweeny mindfucking Alicia by proxy to me. As much as happened in this episode, I'm over Sweeney and his creepiness - finding myself rolling my eye at his antics much like Alicia. Either way, the episode seemed curiously lacking in energy to me. They need a lot more Eli now with Will missing. IMO of course.
  3. She probably has daily waiver limits or something, and was being kind.
  4. They made it a point to say that the department was small - only a 6 member team, only 4 of whom were hired, all of whom were new. And I thought it was only Leslie's team was new. So it's a bit of wish fulfilment, but the entire character of Leslie Knope is wish fulfilment, as is the show, so I didn't find it particularly difficult to believe. And I loved the twist. They blew past the pregnancy story, and the hilarious hijinks of triplets, to focus on Leslie running Parks and Rec. Since they, once again, took care of all my fears, I am going to trust them with this time jump as well. They've yet to let me down.
  5. Apropos of nothing, I would like to state that I love Glark. That is all. Well, okay, not nothing. The note at the bottom of the editor is just so nice of him. I want to put that out there for all the world to see.
  6. What is funny is that since i learnt the bb code shortcuts, I only hard code - on my laptop too, as well as my phone. But it's very irritating on my phone to get to the third brackets. LnB, as expected you kicked a**. I daresay that things seemed easy because of the preparation you did in advance. I have nothing more to say. For now.
  7. I don't know about more since the opening credits is one of my favourite on TV right now, but I can say that I did like it.
  8. Maybe she hadn't missed a period yet. Maybe her morning sickness just arrived early?
  9. 47 million dollars. Ha! Nice speech there. I was puzzled about Sydney not being an equity partner. Then what was her name up there as Lewis, Roberts & Roberts? SMG having to stand on the box for the kiss was hilarious. And sweet. This show is so darn nice and appealing !!
  10. This show is just so sweet. But I don't know what the lynching was about - was Gordon supposed to be Frankenstein? Or just a generic monster? I so hope it survives. ETA: Too bad Dillon turned out to be gay. He was dreamy.
  11. *small voice* I'm a Buffy/Angel 'shipper and I didn't ruin it. I think. Don't think I managed to ruin Glee with my St. Berry allegiance and TGW with my Will/Alicia preference. The latter two managed to ruin themselves. Okay, I blame a little bit of Glee on Klaine, but mostly on Ryan Murphy's crush on Darren Criss. Maybe it's because my 'ships never land? I should find more popular 'ships. In other news, work has been heavy so I've been feeling apathetic about everything else. But i"ve been reading and vining. And feeling sad about Mean Girl-ness. That's one thing having books for best friends (and being a TV Addict) saved me from in high school. Which was many years ago. Yikes. ETA because, ironically enough, ship does not equal ruin.
  12. This episode was interesting. Less Skye is always good - and her not being the super saver even better. But just after the episode I thought it would be just my luck to have Ward turn back to the good side due to his love for Skye. And there went any afterglow I may have had. So, needless to say, I really hope he's actually evil - though that's unlikely since they'd have to give him a whole separate cast and a whole separate set. So if he is undercover, that Skye conversation, I hope would have been a separate assignment. What I'd like is for him to come back and keep playing the team, but they don't seem to be doing that much? The rest of my thoughts have been covered upthread already, but I'd like to echo that the Hydra symbol at the end, was, truly awesome.
  13. I'm the obnoxious woman always criticising NDM's choreography. Hey y'all!!
  14. I think this is the first time I've felt that I really needed to be American to get the episode. Also, Farscape did it better. Speaking of doing it better, I think Joey's one line was better too, in a different way. And they really, really, really want us to stop rooting for Jeff & Annie, don't they? I'd call this a swing and a miss. Actually, since they've done some form of animation twice already, it's really not much of a swing, is it?
  15. I agree that they need to get Mike out from under this (though they still haven't taken Neal's anklet off) but I'm not sure this would have done this. He still would have practised without a license, he'd still be working with his new firm under false pretences (they think he's a Harvard educated lawyer) and his past (fraudulent, I think actions) would still be hanging over him. And if the investment bankers in the new company do a background check (which any high profile company would do, I think?) there comes jeopardy again.
  16. Thanks, Endeavour !! There are so many good reasons to just kill her off - I don't know why they don't just do that. As beloved as she is - the story potential is awesome!! I think the Whedons need to talk to the Kings.
  17. I'm glad I didn't miss Erratic's anniversary and dusky's birthday. Many happy returns of the day to both you !! (Warning, this is going to be long, I have 2 days worth stored up!! Feel free to skip the whole thing, I won't mind) The reason I'm late is because I bought a new laptop. More on that later. Introduction: Hello everyone, I'm romantic idiot. I'm Indian and a fairly typical Bong / Bengali, currently living in Bangalore. My name (good name as we Bongs would call it) is unpronounceable not just by foreigners but fellow Indians too, so am happy to pretty much answer to anything but that. It's best if I don't get into how I manage to watch most of the television I do, but they are getting better at showing a lot of these series at home, now. I like to think of myself as a marketing professional working in a large bank. I am very lucky - I have a wonderful boss and good and helpful coworkers. I have awesome clients. We were short staffed last year, which was challenging, but that's fixed itself now. I still find myself wondering whether or not to change jobs or move back home to Calcutta though, because (despite being paid fairly well, I think, though not as much as my batchmates, probably), I want more money because I'm a spendthrift. I have a Bachelor's (Hons) in Economics and an MBA specialising in Finance & Strategic Management. I have a brother who is 10 years younger, and two loving parents whom I lead around by the nose. (I'm spoiled). Regarding TV obsessions - I was following The Good Wife, but that's over. And I'm feeling blah about Scandal, Community, Parks and Rec. Maybe it's just the recent bloodbath. I'll confess, I htink I need a little bit more knowledge of (and interest in) American History to be really into Sleepy Hollow, but I'm dancing at the thought of Orphan Black's return and a few uninterrupted weeks of Mindy. I go back and forth on Nashville. I'm NEVER EVER watching GoT or Breaking Bad, I don't watch shows that kill off main characters or something as horrifying as BB on principle. That's not a world I want to live in. That's probably enough about for me - I believe the world is heliocentric and I'm the sun, so there's going to be a lot more follow over the next few <insert preferred measure of time> Pretty much this. Unfortunately, still too much Skye for me though. I like that aspect of Lie to Me. but some aspect of Monica Rajmund really gets on my nerves. She just tends to take over whatever she appears in (e.g. TGW), and she's so Lana Lang and Skye-like in LTM that I wasn't able to get into that show. I don't envy you your conversation, but how cool that she could do that!! I kept mixing this up, but I've sort of figured out a mnemonic, well, thought. The filled bubble or star takes you to the newest unread post. But, in a forum with multiple threads that wouldn't work, therefore that button does not do that for a forum. About my laptop, so I dropped my 3.5 year old Macbook pro in a bucket of water in December. Luckily the just had to replace the hard drive (**sob** 10 years worth of stupidly not backed up books **sob**) and the Ethernet didn't work, so I got Wifi at home (I was resisting for no reason). Not too expensive. But the display thing on the motherboard stopped working on Friday morning, and with water damage niggles like this were only going to continue. So I could have gotten it fixed for 8k odd, but I bought a new one instead (another obsolete for a month now model) for 70k. The cost was 90k, but they are taking my old Mac for 20k. And I'd already done repairs worth 22k on it already. So, I'm feeling guilty and wondering how to save money on my credit card bill. But anyway, new laptop, yay. It's my birthday gift to myself. I can't afford it. Well, I can but I'll have to pay finance charges. My finance degree doesn't help me manage my finances at all !! Just helps me justify my actions. Gah. Yeah, so, hi, I'm r.i.; I ramble.
  18. I don't think so. When they met it seemed like they were friends from long ago. It's certainly been clear that Deacon and Luke have a history from when they were starting out and getting established (the whole Deacon's the one with the more talent repartee) and if Deacon and Luke knew each other it's unlikely that Rayna and Luke didn't. I don't think morally she had a choice. She could have been paying more attention, but she couldn't (and shouldn't) have let him drive that drunk and he didn't seem likely to wait for a cab, or for her to get someone. Actually she should have just kneed him, hit him on the rock and knocked him unconscious, but she doesn't look strong enough for that, as twiggy as she is. I feel sad for Rayna and how badly Highway 65 is faring. I didn't mind Charlie Wentworth coming back, but I'd rather he found a love interest of his own - maybe Tandy and Charlie can get together. I'm sure she can show him a trick or two and she can speak his language too.
  19. Blaine: I get to New York and all of a sudden it's Elliot thinks this and Elliot thinks that and Elliot's hair is so full and thick that he doesn't have to rely on hair gel.
  20. Fair enough. I meant the name of the island being an easy joke about it being an island full of Lesbians. Either way - it was one of the more unfunny bits on either shows. (And used for a similar purpose, come to think of it). But that probably then makes it more suitable for the previous episode's thread.
  21. I would recommend watching this episode. This was the most sensible either of them have been together, so you don't even need to FF through a lot of the Blaine/Sam bits. Sign on to both of these sentiments. It was so lovely to hear her end an episode and Sam got a haircut. I also agree that Blaine's visit to Sam was a mistake. Not so much because it was terrible, but because apart from Elliot's worry that Blaine was moving in, it was boring. I started surfing. I guess I finally know one think Elliot can't make sparkle (or should I say twinkle?) - a scene with Blaine. I thought it was still quite funny and one of the better episodes in, I'm tempted to say, two years now. This wasn't of the calibre of Season 1, but there was funny in part. Most of it was Rachel's over the topness, but the Mime bits were fun (including the true death of Kurt's poor flower) and I liked Artie's voice over too. And if we are talking black comedy, the man in the wheelchair getting robbed by the guy in crutches struck me as pretty funny and dark too. I'll confess, I was a little tired of Santana's snark - actually that's incorrect - I've never been a Santana fun, she substitutes meanness for wit. So I didn't miss her at all. Speaking of her storyline though, every time they bring up the Lesbos storyline, all I can think is how much better Coupling used it.
  22. Hunter Parrish did kill it. But I can't say poor Jeffery Grant. He could have stopped after the first bullet. He could have killed himself with the first bullet. He could have been stronger and held himself together. He's pitiful, but I'm not sorry for him. And he's got rich parents and there's a good chance he's going to be acquitted because of insanity.
  23. My mom gave me a cucumber to munch on the one time I went to Eden Gardens to watch a World Cup match. Couldn't see a thing and everyone kept borrowing my binoculars so I really couldn't see a thing. Fun experience, though I feel no need to repeat it. BTW, are we still practicing or have we officially moved here now?
  24. Given the reason for our migration, I am VERY happy to see the ads and as a marketing professional (as I like to think of myself) I love the placement. Aww - I like The Crazy Ones. It's sweet and optimistic and I adore the opening credits. In fact, it's sacrilege but I prefer TCO to Agents of SHIELD - which has been a huge disappointment this season. Re: The VM Movie - I was lucky enough to get a look as well. The fan service was nice, the banter was nice as well. Not as good as Serenity, or VM Season 1, but decent. The ending was disappointing, but then, in line with the whole "noir" theme and how Season 3 ended. Also, I guess I have another confession to make. I can do without Faith. I mean, I don't dislike her, but I've never seen what the rest of the fandom saw in her either.
  25. I agree with you for the most part - but if they're going to kill off Will Gardner then they'd jolly well better come close, IMO. And they didn't. They really didn't.
