  1. Others may disagree, but I really don't like ANY of the five nominated songs this year. If I had to pick one, it would probably be "Stand Up For Something."
  2. I'm afraid that Lady Bird is going to be completely shut out. :(
  3. One of the 10 activists I spotted was Chef Jose Andres, who has been serving hundreds of thousands of meals to those still suffering in Puerto Rico. He unfurled the Puerto Rican flag at the end of the song.
  4. How the hell would they even get there? I was under the impression that all the streets near the Dolby Theater are basically closed to traffic unless you've got an Oscar ticket.
  5. While I love Allison Janney and am happy for her personally, I was pulling for Laurie Metcalf who gave such a beautifully nuanced performance.
  6. Well, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt will be in Infinity War next month. Chris Pine spoiled the quartet happening by starring in a DC movie instead of MCU!
  7. Lupita never makes a fashion mistake. She always looks positively stunning!
  8. Mary J's performance gown is just as beautiful as her red carpet dress!
  9. He is wonderful in everything and has been nominated twice but I fear he'll never win one. He makes everything look so effortless. I like that they cast a British Mary Poppins.
  10. During the B&W opening when they showed Meryl Streep, was that Eddie Vedder sitting two rows behind her? Is he connected with one of the nominated films?
  11. Yes. The hour before the actual start of the Oscars is red carpet exclusive to ABC.
  12. Giuliana on E! interviewed him for about 10 minutes around 6 p.m. Maybe the E! website will have it up at some point. Thanks for that link. This Sorkinite was hoping that Adapted Screenplay would be a bit earlier in the evening. Sometimes they give out one of the writing awards fairly early on. Not tonight. :(
  13. Jennifer Garner's dress is lovely. And that shade of blue is amazing!
  14. I love Whoopi's gown. My ABC affiliate is finally showing the red carpet coverage. These interviewers except for Michael Strahan are terrible. I'm embarrassed for them.
  15. From tonight's red carpet at the Oscars:
  16. I think he looks fabulous. My favorite male so far. Seems very African in styling which is absolutely the fashion statement I hoped and expected he would make. I haven't see a full on shot of him yet. I only saw him from the side in the crowd. I'm off to look for a photo...
  17. Mary J. Blige has, by far, my favorite gown so far. She looks stunning!
  18. Thanks for that info, ShadowHunter. I'm glad to see that they were at least given the opportunity. I agree completely.
  19. But let's leave the whiskey out where anyone can grab it? Nah, I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I'm betting the rubbing alcohol's under the bathroom sink. The writers just want to make sure we all remember that George likes his booze.
  20. Kudos to Missy for thinking of getting the tweezers from Operation. She's actually a very bright little girl, whose natural intelligence and common sense pales when compared to her brother's brilliance but should by no means be considered dim witted. Georgie, OTOH... ? And grabbing the fire extinguisher as a weapon against an intruder was a great idea too. Plus she got to try it out--which she obviously was determined to do--without setting the house on fire! I loved that Missy continued to let the music move her even though that pastor signalled that she should stop. That truly annoyed me. They were not in the actual church at a service at the time. They were in a church hall having a post-service, pot luck luncheon. Admittedly, clergy members not allowing children to be themselves (within the realm of good behavior, of course) is something that ticks me off big time. I was pleasantly surprised that George called the house to see how Missy and Sheldon were doing on their first afternoon home alone. I expected Mary to call and check on them; having George do the same was a very nice touch. I know the whiskey made for a good chuckle, but honestly, didn't the Coopers have a bottle of rubbing alcohol in the house? I kind of bumped on that as Sheldon would have made some comment to the effect of, "I meant isopropyl alcohol, not an alcoholic beverage!"
