  1. For Whoopi to always bring up Tawana B (or Polanski) in a rape discussion is just wrong. As Sunny said the incidence of false accusations is extremely low. It derails the convo. Every. Time. Rich white men don't need Whoopi to defend them. They've got their own resources.
  2. Missed the show, but caught this youtube clip The cooking segment with Bobby Flay was very good IMO. C'mon they're ALL chowing down and enjoying his food. He's a pro at cooking and as a TV personality. It's a good thing it was on a Whoopi-free Friday.
  3. From The Daily Beast piece referenced above, Karl sounds like he's speaking to a toddler here trying to break it down into simplest terms: "I think that this is significant and this is a little bit different and very easy to understand"
  4. Oh to be a fly on the wall during the hair and make up pre show discussions! Joy obviously knew that Meghan's objective was to muddle things up by bringing in Assange (WTF?) to the whistleblower discussion. Derail, distract. And Abby was an accomplice. Thank goodness Ana was there.
  5. Beto on Meghan's stupid violence remark
  6. If Joy ever doubts whether she's not being appropriately accepting of Meghan, she needs to see this. Joy is a good employee, prepared, articulate, true to herself. Meghan is the consummate entitled bitch.
  7. Wasn't it Joy that asked the reparations question this time, jumping onto Sunny's turf? Also Sunny got cut off by Whoopi and wasn't able to get in her rapid fire questions (which usually included the reparations question). This is a good thing in my mind. Shake things up. A candidate interview shouldn't be a skit where each person plays a certain role.
  8. Here's the context per RawStory's reporting Nobody but Trumpers/Republicans call The Squad "the face of the Democratic Party," certainly no Democrats.
  9. Antithesize. Is that even a word? Did Meghan mean to say "epitomize"?
  10. Would it be feasible for the producer/director/show-runner or whoever is in charge to sit Whoopi down and have her watch replays of her commentary? Sure it'd piss her off but somebody needs to do something. It's not that we or any of the hosts don't get her point; it's that she is not articulating a point to get.
  11. "I will say" that Nicolle did much better on Seth Meyers than Meghan
  12. I don't think Kamala's comment (about Acosta) went over as well as she hoped it would. Looked like she was expecting applause. Reminiscent of Jeb's "Please, clap" line.
  13. Sarah wrote: "I'm not a Sunny fan, so I wish she would." I am a Sunny fan - the coyness, not so much. But I wish she would drop the reparations question. It's not a winning issue and these are desperate times.
  14. Whoopi announced that she would be at the table tomorrow along with Ana. That's disappointing, but I guess it must have something to do with candidate Kamala Harris being a scheduled guest.
  15. Was it a Hausfrau or uptight '50's housewife look they were going for?
  16. Two things can be true at the same time: The Kardashian topic should have never been on the show. Whoopi's antics were stupid. Are the Kardashian discussions along the lines of paid product endorsements ("View Your Deal")? They really diminish the show IMO
  17. Loved Joy's shout out to Julie K. Brown*, Miami Herald investigative journalist who wrote about Epstein. No more air time for Dershowitz please. Let the victims be heard. *If you're on twitter, she's a good one to follow
  18. Julie K. Brown, investigative journalist for the Miami Herald tweeted to Ana: "Your colleagues at the View owe it to Epstein’s victims to have their POV on the show. Having Alan Dershowitz on without giving the their point of view only serves to silence other victims. @TheView@WhoopiGoldbergyour show is crucial in reaching out to victims"
  19. Also Byrd renounced his association with the KKK, saying it was the worst mistake he ever made. People learn, grow and evolve.
  20. The way I read this article Whoopi doesn't really like doing the show all that much. Seems obvious, doesn't it? Then please do us all a favor and leave
  21. Talk about hyperbole - that would be Meghan screeching at the top of her lungs that Gillibrand bombed last night.
  22. "Hyper-bowl" was Whoopi, not Meghan. Meghan pronounced the word correctly but used it incorrectly.
  23. It's deliberate obfuscation on the part of Meghan and other fauxbots - turn Castro's position of decriminalizing immigrants crossing illegally into "open borders." With the repeal of the federal law, there will still be consequences but not the family separations the government currently uses the existing law to justify. Castro said, "We can maintain a secure border, and people are still subject to the law, but what I don't believe we should do is criminalize desperation.” And Meghan completely distorts his words. Still. See her latest tweet
  24. So rude of Meghan to dismiss Joy's Gone With the Wind reference to the marital rape scene. Meghan could learn a lot from people like Joy and Sunny if she weren't so quick to criticize their views. She needs to listen more (to people who know much more than she does) and pontificate less.
  25. "McCain went on a bizarre tangent about how the woman in the clip is “a holdover from the Obama administration” before realizing that she mixed up CNN’s guest with DOJ lawyer Sarah Fabian" (from a Decider recap of today's show)
