  1. Yes. I used to date a guy who was a lot like Jared. Nice, nice guy. So very proud of how nice he was. So nice that he couldn't quite cut off his ex who was still in love with him. Ruined our relationship and (I'm ashamed to say) kind of turned me into a shrew. How long was I supposed to put up with this ex hanging around? When our relationship ran it's course, he wanted to keep me around as a friend. Then it dawned on me that he uses his ex to prevent any new relationship from getting too close. And polishes up his cherished 'nice guy' reputation. So while I do think that Ashley is crazy, I think Jared is using her. They fit together. Good for Caila for seeing through him and getting out.
  2. After Alicia imagines coming home to Jason, Will, and Peter, I wanted one more scene of her imagining coming home to a bottle of wine and a pet cat. I do wish they had wrapped things up a little more neatly. It made sense that Jason left, it wasn't fair to ask him to wait. I wanted Diane and Kurt to get their happy ending but I guess that's over. So Alicia is out at Diane's firm and divorcing Peter, so that means starting over I guess. Meh is right. And that wig in the final scenes...I swear they were teasing us with how awful it looked.
  3. I liked the first episode a lot. This one...not so much. Rebecca is veering into genuinely crazy rather than amusingly crazy and genuine crazy just isn't funny.
  4. I thought she was reacting to the fact that she just won $50,000. That's a lot of money and probably more than she thought she'd come out of the game with. She seemed grateful to Steve. I didn't mind the 'crapshoot' last competition. I like the fact that they didn't have a strength or endurance competition that might favor a man. Another 'what happened when' or 'who said what' competition would have been OK too. So glad Jason brought up Vanessa needing to own her game. I think a man playing her game with the tears and promises extracted and begging not to be blamed would have been evicted a lot sooner than she was.
  5. I just cannot with Vanessa. I didn't see this weepy victim thing coming. I thought she'd be playing her heart out to throw Shelli under the bus. I know people who act like this. It's like everything is supposed to play out the way they imagine it, and when other people fail to follow the script they're just furious. Maybe people who play poker are predictable enough that she always felt like she knew what was coming in a card game. I really hope she doesn't act like this outside of the house, but I suspect she does.
  6. This, exactly. At the beginning of the season I was rooting for Vanessa. I thought a poker player would play a subtle, thoughtful game. I thought she would watch, move when necessary, and pull back when aggressive play isn't needed. But instead she's all over the place. Demanding agreements and promises like she runs the house. I guess I wanted a redo of last year, but with a new Derrick playing against people who wanted to win. Her game reads like a crazed bully to me. Now I want Vanessa out and I want Shelli out. I want to watch what happens when the former leaders leave the house early enough to watch everyone else scramble.
  7. Now I'm picturing Clay hooking up with Meg in the first episode and we'd have a lovely couple wandering around wondering what the hell was going on. Shelli and Vanessa would be the power couple. The bathroom cuddle with Meg confused me. Clay's words said vote for my eviction, but his cuddles said you know you want me around after Shelli is out of the house. (Moved this over here from the wrong thread.)
  8. Sweet, bold James. I love to see entitled people get their turn on the block. I hate it when the entitled ones expect everyone else to play the game for their benefit. It worked last season and made for really boring TV.
  9. This show looks scripted to me, but I really liked both the Mesnick and Lowe homes. They looked like typical homes that non-rich people live in. We didn't get to see too much of it, but Sean's parents' home looked like the kind of home that rich people do live in. That made me wonder if Sean really works for a living, or if he plays for a living with a generous subsidy from the folks. Might explain the Porsche. As far as Catherine not working, I don't know. I used to feel challenged by work until I felt burdened by it. Sleeping until 9 or 10 doesn't sound too bad. If Sean really wants her to be a live-in maid, then that would be a sad life. But if he's not too demanding, then she has a lot of freedom to do as she pleases. And that sounds great.
  10. I agree watching Amber shop would be boring, but I think that one of the times when someone walked into her unlocked apartment, she should have been reading a baby care book, or figuring out where to store the baby things, or something. Given the passive way she lives her life, I'm assuming she's not ready for anything and is waiting for someone to rescue her. Just like her mother.
  11. When the show opened with Zeke and Camille trudging uphill, I wondered if they were trying to kill him. A nice walk in the park? OK. Uphill with serious heart failure? Death wish. I do find the way they're dealing with Zeke's end of life issues realistic. The way his doctor explained it, he's probably going to die soon no matter what he does, so I think it's reasonable to decide how you want to spend your final days instead of trying surgery again. I hope Amber has spent the last nine months reading baby care books, lining up day care, and figuring how to support herself and the baby. But probably not. Waiting until you go into labor and then...what was the plan? Positive thoughts? Babies are a lot of a work and a huge responsibility. Sarah was right about instantly falling in love with your baby when you hold him for the first time, but there are so many practical concerns. I guess she'll take after her mother and stumble through life. No chemistry between Sarah and Hank. It looks more like a friendship, but maybe that's OK. When Kristina and Adam walked into Max's room, I foolishly thought they were going to discuss how rude he was with the boy making the souffle. I actually thought that since he was dealing with another autistic child Adam would realize how Max's words hurt. But no. Another pep talk with no discussion of his behavior. The Zeke and Sarah scene got me. It's so hard to lose a parent.
  12. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes, Fostersmom. That was repulsive. When that disgusting CEO was so upset at the bartender who didn't plan to work there long-term it made me wonder how long he would have wanted her. Do you suppose he wants these bikini-clad women working for him when they're in their 40's? I assume he wants their 'passion' and commitment as long as their breasts hold up. I wonder if he realizes how bad he looks. Also, half-naked people wandering around kitchens when food is being prepared just seems so gross.
  13. Split my votes between Donny, Zach and Caleb. I'm OK with any of them and I'm trying to figure out who is the most likely to beat Frankie. Do you think a split vote is a good idea or should I just pick one for the rest of the days?
  14. Yes, yes it is. I'll second the posts on Derrick's gameplay and why I don't like him. He comes across as entitled to me, as if this game and the $500,000 is his and only his. He looks like he's actually angry when someone plays their own game or even just behaves in a way that fails to serve HIS needs. Example? Tipsy Victoria. I watched his face on the BBAD feeds and he was pissed that she drank too much. She might talk and endanger his game! And so he told her that she might talk and instructed her to lay off the booze. The proper response to which should be "F off!", but no, she submits and explains that she won't hurt his game. Pretty uncomfortable to watch. Speaking of which, why exactly is Victoria playing Derrick's game? If any part of this is because he's a 'groundskeeper' and needs the money for his kid, when in reality he is a pensioned cop who probably has a nice middle class income, I'll just hate him even more. And how exactly is this outside the house friendship with Victoria and Derrick supposed to play out? Does Victoria imagine that Derrick's wife will welcome a woman who is probably in love with her husband into her home? Because I can't see that. Thanks for the $500K and off with you! Finally, I'll venture outside what I've seen and guess that someone who is this controlling and entitled in a game, someone who can control his emotions and persona so completely for months at a time, is not that different outside the house. I know, he's a cop! It's his job! But I have a feeling I wouldn't like him any better outside the house than in, and I would bet that he can be pretty darn unpleasant to be around with he's crossed even in his personal life. As always, just an opinion.
  15. This is so stupid. Why would I watch again next year if BB can just pull something like this off at the end and upset the whole game? Seriously, you watch a whole season of game play, watch the moves, know the personalities, and then BAM, they step in with this kind of crap. Or are they going to present this as yet another 'twist'? I call BS!
