I like the series. The only change that is very different from the books is that Bosch and the black deputy LAPD chief are allies in the tv series or at the very least frenemy. In the books they are bitter enemies for decades and hate each other with a passion! They are doing a good job in talking all the books and blending them together for the series.

I think Dan is dirty or at least knew that others was dirty and did nothing about it. Love at the end how Luc yells at his angle brother to go with his bad self and he can fall also. I get the feeling that Helene husband was unable to satisfied his wife physically (for a long time, or not at all anymore) or was unable to perform on a regular basics to take care of her physically need.
