  1. Season 11 Episode 2 unsubs 21 minutes and 39 seconds Reid 15 minutes and 17 seconds Morgan 11 minutes and 8 seconds Lewis 10 minutes and 53 seconds Rossi 10 minutes and 6 seconds Garcia 6 minutes and 47 seconds Hotch 6 minutes and 29 seconds
  2. Sitting in front of the screen, and watching one episode of season one, followed by another of season 10 or 11... Shocking. So many differences it just seems a different show.
  3. So far I think all the characters have been working with more lines (and more elaborated ones) than they had last season. The unsub time is now also prominent, but more scattered. In these two episodes the only long sequence without words was the chasing of the unsub. And it wasn't that long, compared with others we've seen in previous seasons. When words and screen time are combined sometimes it looks like they match, and sometimes they don't. For instance, Morgan had a long scene interviewing the grenade-man, but all in all, he didnt say much. Reid can deliver fur dozens of words in a minute, so in the end both words and screen time figures look as if they were mismatched. My only complain is the amount of words Garcia has, mainly because I cannot stand her exaggerated gesticulation and strident tone of voice she's been using these last years. And I seriously hate her wardrobe. It 'hurts my eyes' since it seems to shine compared with the rest of the surroundings.
  4. So… Here are the figures for the first episode of Season 11. Unsubs, 16 minutes and 35 seconds Morgan, 14 minutes and 39 seconds Rossi, 10 minutes and 31 seconds Hotch, 9 minutes and 18 seconds Garcia, 8 minutes and 50 seconds Reid, 8 minutes and 21 seconds Lewis, 3 minutes and 17 seconds JJ, 53 seconds. Interesting that Dr. Lewis got the same reasons why Hotch wanted to become a BAU member. I will do the second tomorrow.
  5. Me neither. Just bad. Not 'that bad'. Nevertheless, it's a pity that both the actress and the CM producers felt they had to camouflage her beauty in order to make her look intelligent. She looked professional, and that was great, after three seasons of clowny outfits for Garcia and t-shirts alla Morgan for JJ. Finally someone who looks as an FBI elite agent.
  6. And that's yet another stereotype I grew to hate. If you are smart, you must look bad. At least unkempt, and hopefully, unattractive. They used that idea with Reid in earlier seasons, (and sometimes it he newer ones) as if being smart equals ugly. Still, I prefer that to the opposite tv trope which makes smart women look as models working for an x-rated movie.
  7. I do not miss JJ at all. Still, I wouldn't mind AJ Cook delivering most lines addressed to Garcia (the ones related to work, not her non-sense endless monologues). I think Dr. Lewis's hair is really bad. Reid's hair is also normally bad. It is what it is. The whole hair department should be fired. No one is safe with them and their combs hoovering around. Still, what really makes me avert my eyes are Garcia's outfits and her exaggerated makeup. And I don't like the amount of unsub/victims time, but that's a rather old complaint. Everything else is fine. I am even starting to like Morgan again. No member of the main cast is being neglected, and every single one of them seem focused on the job. I can only hope this newly found balance won't be disrupted later in the season.
  8. I hated that part too. The whole practical joke issue was poorly conceived and horribly executed in that episode, but unfortunately some people think it was funny, including the writers and the showrunner. Hence, they keep that idea rolling. I still don't see it, and I still think that it shows the immaturity of the writers. I only hope that's the last time we hear about practical jokes in this show, ever. Well, the character Reid has been used to introduce the female newbies since Seaver, and last year they also tried to glue it to JJ in her most relevant episodes. I think it's safe to assume they are doing this 'nice chats' in purpose. If they learnt their previous three lessons, they will avoid that traditional insulting joke. But their records are not good. For me this episode felt slow and rather boring, mostly because the huge amount of time wasted on the guest cast. I wonder when the CM producers would get that most fans watch the show for the cast, and not for the guest stars.
  9. I will do it, probably by Tuesday. I have a couple of very busy days after travelling for two weeks... And yet she was right there at the premiere, so that was not a JJ-free episode after all.
  10. 1- I don't want romantic stories for any of the characters. They are just lame. That's what soap operas are for: romance. Here, I want to see crimes, and intelligent people tracking the criminals. 2- I've seen pictures of that new member of the cast. She looks old. I like that. But linking two colleagues in a romantic way is something I don't want to see in this show, ever. That's one good thing of the entire ten seasons. Despite good and terribly bad moments, they never fell so low to do something so cheesy like that. It seems we have different ideas on what a great storyline should be on CM context.
  11. Oh, well... The forever people episode was poorly conceived in so many ways that it makes it easy to hate. Poor plot, complete disdain for law and enforcement procedures, repetitive trauma story development, cliche reactions, magic databases and disregard from previous canon features of several characters. And in top of that, the worst dialogue choices they could write. It was a BAD episode with capital letters.
  12. There was a time when Garcia got in trouble just because she was following files she shouldn't have, and a guy from internal affairs was after her. It didnt help she got away back then, but at least there was a consequence for her actions (minimal as it was). Nowadays, she perform illegal activities every single Wednesday and she even laughs about breaking the law, sitting right in the FBI offices. It is astonishing how much this show has changed.
  13. I am just disappointed about the whole 'mole' business. Not only is an already over-used story line, but also unnecessary. Serial killers, and profiling methods are interesting enough, if they would care to dig into them. The whole ID (Investigation Discovery) channel is full of interesting, relevant stuff about criminal minds. And yet, the writers team keep thinking about spies, conspirators, trickery and deceit, flashy explosions and team members in fake peril (or worse, fake team members).
  14. I think it all comes to the earlier development of the story. Do you remember that Messer stated JJ's issues would arouse, and Hotch would be the tending hand? And after a while, and some announcements about episodes with Hotch's b-side stories there were fans voicing their anger about 'no-Reid stories' this season? Well, I think that 'the forever people' had an original concept that was later modified in order to fit Reid and not Hotch. In the process both ended up looking useless. So many flaws in one single episode may have been a consequence of rushing things to change sections of the story. In conclusion: be careful of what you wish, It may become true.
  15. I don't know if you've seen this already, but just in case I am posting them. I must say I love the look of everyone with the exception of JJ. Don't get me wrong: she looks great in that dress, but what does has anything to do with the show? http://40.media.tumblr.com/e7603c33b1c8dc0de770060ef9664989/tumblr_nugq4vRqiN1sf7ax3o1_1280.png And I resent the need to photoshop wrinkles. People ages. What's the big deal? http://41.media.tumblr.com/0cc0f139b3e00dfb6f1d2dd3e577a12d/tumblr_nugq4vRqiN1sf7ax3o2_1280.png
  16. Look at her during season one and two. There she is, acting. Look at her nowadays, in the show as well as in interviews. There is no difference, at all.
  17. The case of Garcia's lines doesn't need any further explanations for the members of this forum. But I must say that as soon as Vangsness decided she would play Garcia as herself, the case was lost. The examples that Qwerty so kindly posted recently about JJ lines show that the writers didn't bother looking into the character's background, nor they care about how to explain such a sudden amount of diverse knowledge could have been acquired while working at the pentagon in a communications position, unless her position demanded her to study about nanotechnology, pharmaceutical chemistry or sniper's statistics. I seriously doubt those could have been topics of JJ's choice to read before bedtime after taking care of her young child after working full time at the prestigious Pentagon, in the communications area.
  18. And that's just talking about Reid. They managed to spoil the lines of everyone. Take, for instance, Morgan's case. He used to sound smart, informed and well-educated. Now he is written as the stereotype of the action man who could win a place in SWAT, but wouldn't stand a chance at the BAU.
  19. Being a genius doesn't mean you know more stuff. It implies a different way of thinking. If a writer cannot write a genius character, its perfectly fine. If a writer needs the help of a consultant, its just perfectly fine. What is not fine is a bunch of writers that know they cannot handle a character, and instead of looking for help they google for info and use Wikipedia. This show used to have great writers that were able to come up with smart dialogues for every single one of the characters, that were able to insert the proper amount and type of humour a smart show needed. Nowadays listening to Reid's lines sometimes it feels either like hearing a parrot that doesn't understand a thing of what he said, or he just says dumb things just to prove he is not 'normal'. That is just bad writing, but also a bad attitude from those who were hired to do a job they obviously cannot handle.
  20. Well, that was an accident. Jones happened. And it should have been the end of that story, but the actress got pregnant in real life and Bernero and Co. decided that the best option they had was to bring Will back, which they did as soon as AJ Cook started showing her pregnancy and using a lot of loose fit clothes. She looked great back in those days. But if not for AJ Cook son, Will would doubly be in the picture nowadays.
  21. He had the six year contract with option for an extra year. They paid him rather poorly for many years, since he was an unknown actor, and he was up to renegotiate the figures of his contract just after season six. Maybe that is why some people though he would try new things. Nevertheless it always bugged me that negotiations weren't even close when the headaches episode was filmed. Since it was episode #12, it means that this particular episode was filmed at least in October, but it was designed earlier than that. Lets say they had the script at least two months earlier. Why Messer was already planning a swan dance for the character so early, if she didn't even know what would happen the next year? I don't like her, but she is not stupid.
  22. Gubler delivers his lines way too fast, to squeeze them in the seconds they give him. It seems rambling at high speed is now a must-have treat. And AJ Cook participate in tediously long interviews in which victims and unsub are also interfering with her lines. In addition, she also participate in the long, tedious action scenes. Hence, it seems like she has a lot of lines, and words. Garcia... Any word she says annoys me to not end. Even if its just a good morning.
  23. Auch. Poor Beth. I cannot stand her, but comparing her with Einstein is a little bit too much...
  24. First of all, I think it is outrageous that Garcia had more to say than Reid and JJ, but it also has to do with the fact that some of JJ's scenes are action-orientated, so she doesn't deliver that many lines while on screen, Reid has a number of scenes where he is part of the decoration (aka sitting there, looking pretty) and more often than not he is randomly delivering facts or questions, and every single scene with Garcia consist in the actress talking and talking relentlessly. Finally, 11766 words coming out of Garcia = the horror! Specially when you think about the contents of her lines... Edited, because I got one number wrong. And that cannot happen.
