Hey my first car was a Ford Festiva. I loved that thing and it was more reliable than anything I've driven since. Not to mention cheap on gas. But I'll be the first to admit that the Impala is much, much cooler.

As far as eulogies for the fallen episodes, all I will say is that in Trial and Error I heartily agreed with the dealmaking stable girl's choice of a Winchester as her (apparently) final booty call. Here, then, are my final words on the dogfucker episode: Do not mourn for this ill conceived misbegotten horror of a script. Do not regret the death of this steaming pile of regurgitated dog vomit attempting to pass itself off as a tv show. Rather, let it become a meaningless nothing, an empty space where once an episode of Supernatural stood. Let it be sent back to the fetid bowels of hell from whence it came. Let its name be struck from the minds and memories of all the people of the universe. Let every trace of its offensive existence be wiped from all recorded history and DVDs. Let the very idea of the cop witch and his carnal canine be banished from canon for all time, and never to be thought of again. So say we all.

While at the time, I was happy they brought Castiel back, in hindsight the ep really doesn't hang together that well. Cas being married as "Emanuel" was left completely unexplored, and I can only wonder about whether Cas ever went back to tell her what he really was or just left her thinking he deserted her. And unless he either lost all of Emanuel's memories when he got his own back or never was intimate with his own wife, Castiel's "innocence" in later seasons shouldn't have been in place. Then there was the Castiel-ex-Machina solution to Sam's insanity, which was just too plot convenient and I could never understand why Meg would give a crap about looking after him. Reading through this thread makes me realize that y'all are my people, my tribe. No one in my real life gets my supernatural obsession the way you guys do. It may just be my sentimentality from the holiday season seeping through but I want to wish the merriest of Christmases to those who celebrate it and a wonderful new year to everyone. And in regards to the Favorite scene question, will it this moment it has to be the closing scene of a very supernatural Christmas. When Sam and Dean give each others presents and have yourself a Merry Little Christmas start playing and then the camera pulls out so you can see the Christmas lights gleaming on the Impala's hood, I never fail to get something in my eyes. So sweet and sad and happy all at once.

Oh, it was season 8, definitely. If for no other reason than the average being dragged down by the worst episode ever. The episode that had "Season Seven, Time For A Wedding" taking it to one side to explain how very, very bad it was. The episode that was even worse in hindsight as it added nothing to the season arc and was utterly unnecessary.... Sorry, I'll save my eulogy for later. With the holidays, I'm not sure how often I'll be posting until after the New Year, but rest assured, I will get that eulogy up at the appropriate time, and then never think of the dog fucker ep again. + Slash -- Time -- Win Friends How to Win Friends was pretty decent episode, even though I had to look up the description to remind me what happened in this ep. Loved the Turducken sandwich at Biggersons, and I could watch stoned Dean for hours. The plot moved the season arc along by identifying the main big bad and the basics of their plot against humanity, and then, of course, Bobby's hat getting shot.
