  1. Porsha has a fantastic body by my standards and those of most people in the South. But yeah, different strokes and all. It amazes me that as dense as Porsha is (I like her but I can admit that), she has made more of her time on the show than someone like Cynthia, who seems more intelligent. Someone mentioned that Cybthia should have jumped on the hair line business and Porsha did that. She got the gig on Dish Nation. She's been hosting and making the most of her public exposure. The icing would be if she enrolled in college. I think it would do her some good. I don't mind ditziness because even smart people can be ditzy, but I think ignorance is a different thing.
  2. I really don't think it's all that deep. It could just be as simple as her being raw and irritated after everything she's already been through with Apollo and Kenya.
  3. I don't know. People respond differently to different situations.Look at all the times all of the women have charged each other on this show. The reasons vary.
  4. I think Chocolate is just as made up as the Prince. What is with these women and fictitious African men? Is it because it's harder to get receipts?
  5. I tend to put black names in perspective whenever the "cultural meaning" reason is used. African American culture us less than 400 years old. I don't think it's fair to hold black names to the same standards as names from cultures that are thousands of years old. And frankly, a Chinese or French name holds no more meaning or importance to me as an American than a black American name holds for anyone who isn't.
  6. She's getting flack on her social media pages for sending out a casting notice saying she only wants biracial or biracial looking women to audition for her new pilot. Frankly, I don't see why her fans are surprised. She showed on the show that she is colorstruck.
  7. Found it. Season 5 episode 7 in Anguilla. You can see a pic of Kenya standing aggressively over Porsha here before the others jumped in:http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-atlanta/season-5/ep-7-i-dobut-i-wont And no, anytime Nene yelled at some one not got close, she was called moose. Eta; better yet, here's the video. Kenya goes to attack Porsha and gets held back. 1:35 http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-atlanta/season-5/videos/porsha-and-kenya-come-to-blows Now can we stop rewriting history with this gutter chick?
  8. When Nene got in people's faces and shouted words, she was called a moose. When Kenya does it, she's a real woman. OK then. I guess we've forgotten Kenya had to be held back by the other ladies. She was fully ready to lay hands on...was it Porsha? All in her face, charging at her, yelling threats.
  9. I don't expect anyone to threaten to beat me up, especially when I'm pregnant, and I don't expect anyone to physically knock me down. I consider myself a reasonable adult and have managed to get through life without repping my hood to show how good I am at whooping ass or actually physically striking anyone. They're both stupid.
  10. Yeah I'm not an attorney or a judge so the law isn't my standard on this. I'm strictly talking about the behavior of two women on my TV, and to me, both came off badly. Porsha a little more so for acting on it, but Kenya talked shit and threatened people which makes her just as foul, immature, and silly. Just not violent (yet).
  11. I agree because if she was truly concerned about her image, I imagine she'd dress a lot better than she does.
  12. Nah. A woman doesn't throw around threats like "I'm from Detroit!" and threaten to beat up a pregnant woman. I'm not giving Kenya a pass just because she hasn't acted on her threats yet. She isn't more of a "woman" for talking about fighting people versus actually doing it. Kenya and Porsha are both silly girls on a silly reality show.
  13. I honestly believe that Kenya would be more well liked if she didn't come across so disenginuous all the time. You never know if she's being sincere or just playing to the cameras. Nene may be so nasty and so rude, but at least you know what you're getting with her. Nobody will ever try to guess whether or not she's trying to stay relevant or earn a check. She does play the game but her feelings are genuine. When she gets pissed at Kim or Kandi, that's how she really feels and you know it. Same for when she loves someone. Kenya strikes me as soulless and empty. I also think she's a nasty person but that wouldn't be so bad if she had moments of sincere love or affection for someone other than maybe her dog. I haven't see that yet.
  14. Yeah she was trending on twitter last night. Nothing but compliments. Lots of people love thick women and people are paying good money to get asses like hers (including our very own Kenya). She might not have the type of body the mainstream likes but so what? That's actually one of the things I like about this show compared to other franchises.
  15. I wonder what her boring ass will try to cook up this season now that Apollo is leavinf. I see she's trying to get more mileage out of him before he's gone for good but I think everyone is over all that. Is she not going to talk about her trip? There's nothing interesting about her as a person but I'd love to see a travelogue of some sort.
  16. So is Kenya also ghetto for saying she's from Detroit in reference to her being ready to take others down? Like Kandi said, she should know how all of that works given how loud her mouth is about her own rep. Kenya needs to be thanking Walter and Apollo for making her relevant. She has never had a storyline of interest outside of those two. Did we forget her lame ass twerking on furniture and making up shittt songs to fill a scene? Eta: sorry, we cross posted.
  17. I don't think she's that smart. She's just a nasty person and ramped it up for the cameras. Cynthia is boring as all hell and she managed to stick around while being a relatively nice person. A smart person wouldn't ruin her legacy the way Kenya has. But I think we're off topic now. Ot...Kandi needs to get a refund from her interior designer. Her decor us hideous.
  18. I think I repressed it. I would like to see or hear about her world travels. It's not drama but it's definitely interesting.
  19. Kenya told no lies about people not liking her. She's not a likeable person and that is why nobody gave a shit when she got knocked over. She knows she came on the show picking little fights and beung nasty with everyone for screentime and a check. Porsha is dumb but she isn't a nasty person at heart. It will be interesting to see how this little "friendship" between C and K plays out. And by interesting, I mean slightly less mind numbing than watching C get scammed by her husband and watching K twerk on furniture and rehash Apollo drama.
  20. I like Phaedra, but I agree with this. I never believed she was directly involved and tonight confirmed that for me (I think he would have put her on blast during his angry rant). But I do think she maintained plausible deniability by never asking any questions or digging too deep. She knew something was wrong but she was willing to turn a blind eye. I really don't get her. She's educated, attractive, has/had a good career. I know the joke about Atlanta is that there are no men, but the reality is there are older professional men here who would love to make a woman like Phaedra their second wife. Hell there are guys outside of the city looking to settle down as well. Why Apollo? He's cute but he ain't all that. Why put herself through all of this? It boggles the mind.
  21. I don't understand how Porsha's body is humanly possible. Insane. Shut up Apollo. Cynthia, your friends shouldn't take so much time away from your husband that you notice the difference. She's so annoying. Kandi looked nice in her confessionals.
  22. That's not how racism works. That's not how any of this works. Because a person who is racist enough to toss a resume with a black name on it is not going to suddenly become non racist when Deshon comes in with a degree from Yale and better credentials than any other applicant. In fact, a black man with a college degree is less likely to be hired than a white man with a high school diploma. Because racism.Beyond names, employers also look at your school, your address, and the clubs and orgs you belong to. So John Smith with his race neutral name can still be discriminated against based on his address or the fact that he attended an HBCU or his membership in the local NAACP. Again, because racism. Finally, it's not the responsibility of the victim to get the racist to overcome his biases. That's too much of a burden to bear.
  23. What makes you think those names hold no assumptions? Zoe sounds like a white girl's name, possibly suburban, possibly trailer park. Jack sounds like a white man's name, class neutral, although I wouldn't be surprised to meet a black man named Jack. Diane is race and class neutral, but skews older. Thing is, I would never use those assumptions to discriminate against anyone. THAT is what we need to be concerned with...the idiots who use their naming prejudices to degrade, mock, disenfranchise, etc. Of course people should name their kids what they want, provided it's spelled phonetically according to the rules of the language they speak (and most so called black names are).
