  1. I loved the flawless execution of that porcelain automaton, and felt it's success was totally deserved. I would have had bird-girl in the top looks instead of nice-silhouette-and-paint-job-but-generic red demon, though, since the demon should have been just safe. As far as Regina's elimination, well... not surprised. Even if her partner had let her do whatever she wanted to right from the start, her sculpt was still mediocre at best, and the overall concept weak.
  2. Well, color me impressed, Mayer did a fine job with that first show. Sure, the monologue felt a bit stiff & rehearsed, and I'm not the biggest fan of the overall vibe that emanates from him, but nonetheless, he delivered a professional, well-rounded tv show.
  3. Not at lot of Burton in any of these pieces, honestly. Hence a disappointing challenge, once again. I probably would have given the win to Darla's creation, which was the only one that really had an arresting, striking look, mainly due to its paintjob. That said, the Queen of Heart wasn't too bad, although she looked a bit stiff/rough in the face. As for the bottom three, well... the less said about those, the better.
  4. Yeah. But then again, with Lavell interrupting everyone to constantly crack jokes, eating up camera time (no pun intended), and Larry praising SuperSize Me as "one of the best documentaries ever" (I think I've never rolled my eyes harder), this panel wasn't gonna go anywhere interesting. Esp. since it's already one of the main issues with that format...
  5. Yeah, Whitney Cummings' "let's interview my friends" remote segments were fine, just as her in-studio interviews were, but all the rest (the opening, the "monologue", the co-host) was pretty, pretty mediocre. Pally & Schwartz freestyling the entire show reminded me of Craig's style : it was fun, it was improvised, the interviews never necessarily went anywhere, but they did it with style, without ever getting boring or feeling rehearsed. Probably the only guest host (and co-host) so far where I thought to myself "I'd watch that on a regular basis".
  6. Yeah, they cancelled a couple days ago, and haven't rescheduled yet. (third item on that page)
  7. I wish I could give more than one "thumbs up" to possibilities' comment above, since it perfectly sums up everything I feel about this show, every single day. Really, it ends up being a pointless show, in that no point is really made, and the Keeping it 100 bit ends up just being "answer what you think the crowd will most like to hear in order to get cheers". Also, I really like Larry, but I wish he would just stop chuckling at his own jokes, especially those that aren't that funny, or that aren't that well delivered. The more times passes, the more this show ends up in the background, sandwiched between my DVR'd "Late Late Shows not with Craig Ferguson" & Conans, while I'm doing something else.
  8. Didn't like that Ram AT ALL. The cowl read more cobra than Ram to me, the face just seemed off, and the cactus spikes really killed any scary vibe this thing could have had. Even worse, as far as i'm concerned, was the warthog, with its vacant plastic stare, and its unreadable paintjob on the face... yet it was safe. Eh.
  9. Apatow was an okay host, albeit very "stand-up comediany" during its monologue. Sandler was his typical self... and sadly, Lena Dunham was, too. Ugh.
  10. Despite all of its crosspromotional vibe, I've liked Gaffigan's stint on the LLS, so far. He went for something different, more familial, and it works, more or less. And it helps that he has pretty likeable guests, and adorable kids... I'm much less confident in Apatow's upcoming stint. (In other news, Craig's on Conan, Jan 28th)
  11. Pretty meh, overall, except for that one arachnid alien from Rayce's crew. In a distant second place, Team Laura's blue aliens, that had nice colors & sculpts. None of the monkeys looked good to me, though. (I can't help but think that, given the same amount of time, any of the three champions could have produced at least one or two vastly superior creatures on their own, back when they were competing)
  12. Eh, two episodes in, I don't think this show will really be for me. I don't really know why, but I'm not really laughing, I don't really care much for the way the show's formatted, and those panels are, to be honest, quite a turn off for me (especially with that "this is the people's court, here, and we're using common sense" attitude). I like Wilmore, but I think I'll pass if, in a week or so, it's still the same thing...
  13. The problem with Dieudonné is a tough one, with hypocrisy on both sides. First and foremost, he's not, per se, an antisemitic comedian : he's, basically, a troll. (warning, long comment about french media, politics & lobbies inside) TL;DR : Dieudonné is an annoying troll who doesn't know when to shut the hell up, and that causes his already controversial views & acts to be instantly dismissed as the views & acts of an awful antisemitic comedian ; meanwhile, our government & media really is playing fast & loose with the concept of "freedom of speech", and nobody's calling them on it, which made that "I Am Charlie" march something of an hypocritical event, as far as most politicians present were concerned.
  14. I'm glad to have the show back, and I'm not against that Face Off : The Voice Edition gimmick, but so far, not really impressed by the newbies. I guess I'll have to wait and see if any impresses along the way, but in the meantime, I'll be in it for the vets, and I probably won't be invested as much as I used to be in the show.
  15. So TLLS with Drew Carey was... really a mixed bag. On one hand, his interviews ended up pretty laid-back and Craig-ish (it helped that most guests were on friendly terms with Drew), but on the other, the skits + monologue were just cringe-worthy. Turn-your-tv-off worthy. As for the Talk girls, I'll pass, and I'll be back next week, when Jim Gaffigan hosts.
  16. ITA about Celebrity Name Game : were it not for Craig, & his improv/interactions w/ contestants & celebs, I probably wouldn't even bother with it, since it's very simple, basic game show fare. However, thanks to Craig, I've grown quite fond of it, and this will probably only increase if that's really the only Craig we're gonna have on tv for the foreseeable future.
  17. Yeeah, I'm not totally sold on the sincerity of Corden's nervousness. It's not his first rodeo.
  18. Kinda surprised by the two finalists. Not so much by - but rather by were so boring and bland, those performances weren't up to par with what i'd expect from a finalist. Really pulling for to win the whole shebang, right now.
  19. Agreed. And since the writers are clearly playing fast and loose with the backstory of both versions of Reverse Flash, I can see them having Future Thawne & Future Wells working together to influence Barry's life in the past. I'd say Thawne is in it for Iris (Future Iris might have dumped him for Barry, or she might have disappeared in the Crisis, which would, in turn, mean that Future Thawne wants revenge), whereas Wells is in it to save the world, and to make sure Barry is a great & mighty hero by the time the Crisis comes (which means, in typical Hunter Zolomon fashion, by overcoming grief & challenge). So we'd have a combo of both versions of the Reverse Flash, and a time loop, with Future Wells giving Future Thawne the yellow suit, and sending him back to the past with enough intel & future tech to enable Past Wells to start building the suit, as well as start the whole Flash destiny, which in turn leads to Flash saving the world, and Future Wells insuring that he does by sending Future Thawne in the past, and so on. Granted, there's still the pesky "two speedsters at the scene of Barry's mom's murder", but I think they'll have Barry try to stop it, only to realize that stopping it will create a time paradox (aka the Crisis), which in turn will lead him to let Yellow Flash kill his mom, thus insuring the timeline stays intact.
  20. Christmas : - Fleur did okay. Vocals were shaky at times... but still better than the recent Mariah Carey performance. So that's always a plus. - Not a fan of Lauren's song & performance. The low register parts were pretty awkward, and she was drowned by the chorus here and there. - Ben's song was... boring and unmemorable. - For the first time, Andrea's r'n'b vocal mannerisms really annoyed me, on that one. Aside from that, he was good. Other : - One Direction for Lauren... pass. - Fleur kicked ass on Uptown Funk. - I didn't even bother with Andrea's Miley song since I can't stand that song. - Ben's Halleluyah felt... eh. Somehow this song has been overdone, and it doesn't even register on my radar anymore when sung in talent competitions. Also, he was too shouty for my tastes on that one. Fleur FTW. Goodbye Lauren.
  21. Well... Lauren's performance was pretty good, tonight, whereas Stereo Kicks' was... mediocre, at best. And as always, it was because a few of them are unable to sing in tune when needed. Good riddance, and let's hope it doesn't just kill James Graham solo career dead in its tracks.
  22. Round 1 & 2 : # Ben : Come Together was fine, even though the douchy vibe (aka "the Simon Factor") was amped to the max w/ those dancers, and the way he reacted to them ; second song was absolutely & utterly forgettable. # Lauren : not a good first song, with some off key moments ; better second song, but still not very impressive. # Stereo Kicks : I swear, as time goes by, I can see James slowly dying inside while he has to carry the few members of the group whose mics are barely on. Not an awful week for them. # Fleur : I enjoyed both of her performances, even though I'll admit those were neither the most compelling, relevant songs, nor vote-getting songs. I somehow feel her voice was not 100% this week. # Andrea : solid work, but still, Whitney, Whitney, Whitney, okay, we got it, change things up a little, it's getting boring. Agreed with aradia : Probably Fleur vs Lauren, and I fear Fleur's song choices will do her in. I hope not, cos when she's on, with the appropriate songs, she's got the potentiel to win this.
  23. If I was enclined to conspiracy theorizing, I'd argue they put and the strongest singer in the bottom two, just to be sure to get rid of ... but then again, really was competent but bland & boring, yesterday, so... Today, he was somewhat better, but was also surprisingly decent. Oh, well, too bad. I'm sure the staging for 's performances would have been even more outrageous had he stayed in. Anyway... the upcoming weeks will be pretty boring to me, so I'm kind of hoping Fleur will get the win... but I'm not kidding myself about it.
  24. Oh, man, I'm still laughing from that one. "Nelson Mandela" the famous boxer... Vivica was so pissed at that lawyer girl... ^^
  25. C'mon, she won't, she was pretty solid tonight. Boring week, though. Lauren was okay, Ben was okey (albeit quite shaky on some early long notes), Andrea was Andrea (I get it, Andrea, you like Whitney, but that's enough Whitney for an entire competition ; get out of your comfort zone, for once, and sing some flashy, happy Elton John), OTY were enjoyable, but that song wasn't particularly interesting, Stevi was Stevi (he's still standing, indeed, and at least it wasn't boring like the others), and finally, Stereo Kicks were the most uninteresting act of the night, even though restricting solos to only 3 or 4 of the guys makes their performance much more bearable. Kinda sad they eliminated OTY, but it wasn't gonna change anything to the likely Ben/Andrea/Fleur final three, so whatever.
