  1. True, just like Arizona going for sole custody would be a character assassination. But as explained Arizona makes the first move whatever it is and yet Callie is getting heat. We don't know what's happening yet so I don't get the anger towards Callie. Also, if Callie wants to move, I get the sense people feel she should just willingly relinquish custody to Arizona. They are both her mothers and both have every right to want her with them without being looked at like a monster.
  2. You're basing this off of nothing that's happened so far. The fact of the matter is if Callie wants to leave, she has every right to want her daughter with her. I agree that Arizona also has every right to want her daughter with her. The thing is if you take into consideration who has the more stable life right now, it's Callie. People are angry at Callie because she is dating Penny. Penny may not be who they want her with but she's doing nothing wrong dating her. Arizona is dating random women. She lives with an intern who also brings women home. Arizona is the one who apparently starts the ball rolling so if there is any anger to be had, it should be directed towards the one who initiates this whole situation. Although at this point, until we have more information I don't understand why people are already throwing shade at Callie. It goes to show that people just need the hint of something to come down on her even though Arizona seems to have her share of the blame in the situation to come. To be completely forthright, I think most people would like more focus on the older cast : Alex, Callie, Arizona, Bailey, Richard than the new cast members. I think they wanted to give Alex an easy relationship but they are so enamoured with twists and turns, Alex gets shunted to the side.
  3. Callie has every right to want her daughter as does Arizona. They both love Sofia. We don't even know what causes this fight and it seems like Arizona makes the first move in 12x19. If Arizona is the issue, is she going to be viewed the same way? Cheating and custody are highly different things and should not be used as comparison in whose behaviour is worse.
  4. Exactly. The grant time frame is problematic and makes me think it's really just a vehicle to write off Penny only. I agree. Whatever Arizona does in 12x19 is going to make it more clear what direction they are going with this story.
  5. The fact is the first decision is Arizona's and Vanessa Bell Calloway seems to be in 12x19 so whatever happens seems to get started by Arizona. Both Callie and Arizona have lost a lot. Neither should have to lose their daughter, but I'm not going to single out that Callie is horrible for taking Sofia and Arizona is horrible for wanting to keep Sofia.
  6. Why would Arizona slam the door in Callie's face? For that matter why would Callie go to her place when she got back? They're not together and show no signs of loving each other.
  7. When Arizona came in to the party explaining why she wanted rights, Callie took it seriously and said they'd get the paper. I don't recall her blowing Arizona off at all about it.
  8. I don't believe that's the case. The problem is that even though they are trying to build Penny up, the general audience still doesn't care for her at all. I also don't believe they need Penny in order to write off Callie. They could have written off Callie in any number of ways. Family emergency that makes her decide she needs to move back to Miami. An amazing opportunity that she can't pass up. Penny is there to up the drama quotient and to play into the fact that people don't know the status of Sara's contract. I'm wondering about the final two eps of the season.
  9. Callie just introduced Sofia to Penny. She is not going to try to provide Penny with any sort of rights regarding Sofia. Also Callie knows Arizona is Sofia's mother. She's never disputed that. I do wonder about all these decisions that are happening. At the same time, I'm not going to jump to conclusions based on often poorly worded synopses. Remember Arizona was supposed to be considering dating again, when in fact she was dating rather prolifically?
  10. The synopsis could just be hyperbole. It also could be positive. It doesn't say either way in the blurb. It appears that Penny is just treating Sofia. It looks like a babysitter brought Sofia in. I think if Penny hurt Sofia, even by accident, it wouldn't sit well with Callie.
  11. My only issue with April not doing the testing is she is not allowing for any preparation if something is wrong. If she doesn't want to abort that's her choice, but she should ensure that she and Jackson are fully prepared for the future. Whatever reason April decided to keep the news from Jackson, it wasn't for his sake as she tried to frame it the episode before when she was talking to Alex. She was still doing it for her own sake and that's not okay. It doesn't matter if things get messy once he finds out, it only makes things worse the longer she keeps the news to herself. The theory that you don't start telling people until about 12 weeks makes sense if she doesn't tell Arizona and confirm Alex's suspicions. She did and at that point she should have told Jackson.
  12. Further the question of who left who doesn't negate Jackson's right to be a father to his child once the baby is born. I seriously hope nothing is wrong with the baby. I just don't need more of that drama for Jackson and April.
  13. I could see why he'd be upset about it. He should be hearing it from April. I think he's had enough of what he feels is April calling the shots and for him this is just another example of that.
  14. The promo for next ep indicates Arizona spilled the beans. Or he could have been flattered by the comparison. It doesn't have to be a worst case scenario.
  15. Unless Jo stays with Meredith. Ben appears to be staying with Arizona. Penny appears to be perfect for neuro. I do hope that Jo goes back to Ortho because it's the best fit for her character. Stephanie appears to be the afterthought as usual. They don't really do much with Stephanie anyways. It's why I hope Jerrika's new opportunity works out.
  16. People wanted to see if she'd go through with it. They certainly weren't tuning in to see Arizona operating and talking to April.
  17. Not to be harsh but I think the reason the ep did well was because people want to see whether Meredith starts dating again more than Arizona being a doctor. Having said that, I do believe that focus on the characters that have been there for awhile is far better for the ratings. On a side note, people are going to have different reactions to what Arizona did in this ep because it was meant to be a moment that evoked debate. That has nothing to do with cheating or anything else. I am not upset that she did what she did but I can see the flip side and why people would be.
  18. I actually liked the interactions between Meredith, Callie, and Maggie yesterday. It felt real. I also feel like Maggie is the one who talks about sex the most and it gets irritating. It's the writing. Their go to for every character for comic relief scenes for the most part usually has to do with sex. With Jo it's whining. Arizona gets to do the bad things.
  19. The thing is, it's still an interpretation of why she cheated because the show refuses to actually do the work and dig deeper into why Arizona does what she does. Unless they start doing that there will always be a certain part of the fandom that won't look past her bad decisions. Alex, while friendly with Callie has never shown any particular loyalty to her. Alex's friendship with Arizona is far deeper.
  20. This is inherently why I never really understood why people didn't find the way they were writing Arizona to be troublesome at the beginning of the season. Literally all she was doing was comic relief and propping up characters like Alex in ep 3. They haven't actually dealt with the problematic aspects of her personality; they just glossed over them. Now she's done something that many people are going to find issue with and all that good will is going to go out the window.
  21. Sure she hung out with friends and had fun with them, but Callie didn't put herself back out there until after the sales rep hit on her (which she declined). Then she started putting herself back together and trying to find happiness. Also, I'm not sure why it matters that Callie made the comment in an ep Arizona started being her old self. One storyline has nothing to do with the other. Callie is off doing her thing and Arizona is off doing her's. I'm not sure why the need to criticize Callie comes up when they haven't even been in a scene together since ep 5. Callie's story has no bearing on Arizona's and vice versa. I think the usage of Callie and Arizona is really irritating this season.Neither has a real storyline.
  22. I do think the writers are just making stuff up, but in the immediate aftermath, meaning next episode, it wasn't very good between them. It's a small nothing part in a large episode. I'm not sure that scene between April and Callie was that big a deal.
  23. Callie wasn't actually bitter about it in this ep. She just made a throw away comment about the difference between the divorces. It actually was played as joking more than anything.
  24. Or it had nothing to do with Callie and was a long time ago and people didn't remember. Not everything is Callie's fault. Now to the ep: it was a bore save for Katie Bryce. Seriously April. How selfish to keep the pregnancy to herself because she's happy. What about Jackson? Bus he not allowed to be happy? Penny...just too much and not necessary. Maggie/DeLuca I guess were cute but I'm not super invested. I don't mind the fact that Jo is not ready to get married. It happens. Arizona has learned nothing and is basically going back to old habits. It's not fun. It's not sexy. It's just boring.
  25. I find it interesting that lots of people have loads of sympathy for Jane and Raphael with regards to the insemination, but not for Michael. Did he behave poorly when he found out? Yes, but this situation was hard for him too. It's not about entitlement, it's about the same thing as Jane and Raphael. He was making plans for the future with Jane and he also got thrust into this situation without a safety net. Is Michael perfect? No and he doesn't pretend to be.
