With Lucifer (who looked like the original Terminator coming out of the Empty goo) potentially coming back (via Nick’s prayer), I’m worried the only solution is grace from Luci.

Sue, I'm back posting to say you're brilliant! You made me laugh, and then stop and think, "She nailed it!"

    Thanks Old Friend

    Quick responses:
@catrox14 possible long con by Luci, I'm thinking fractured psyche (i.e multiple personality disordre... and his agro side imprinted on Luci)

@ZennyKenny I think that in order to play out a longer game with Michael, they made him very opaque.  That translates into boring.  I also think that the 'lightening in a bottle' that is the Sam/Dean dynamic is missing.  You don't have to be a Sam/Dean 'only' fan (or any variant of that theme) to miss the dynamic.  If we had had Sam/Michael dynamic that would have also (IMO) made Michael much more interesting.  But Michael is so powerful.  He literally can't be in a room with Sam without likely just killing him with a casual shrug of his shoulders.  So we're missing that.  In sum, with Dean MIA and Michael being both opaque and only working with day players... that hamstrings character development.  Personally, I got a lot more on second rewatch (see a post after this one .. maybe in an hour).

@Bobcatkitten I'm intrigued as well.  Dabb always likes a long-game story.  He's rolling the dice IMO that fans will hang with him but I'm very intrigued.

@Mick Lady *waves enthusiastically* I MISSED YOU!

Thanks @SueB! I just caught this. Life has been rough lately, but I will always have Supernatural and this site. I know I've been away for awhile, but I'm back now, and very happy!

Last night, our local TBS ran Supernatural until 3a.m. And yes, I stayed up and watched it! Mick thought I was nuts, but it's my comfort show!

It's stupid,  the random, silly things that bugged me.  One, the way Nickifer says "Cast-yell".  It bugged me when he was Lucifer, now it bugs more. NO one else says it like that.  It's not hard to say .  But for some reason, that he calls him by his name seems wrong, somehow.  I mean I'm sure Cas told him "I'm Castiel", and that's all he knows to call him, but still, bugs me.  Like I said, silly.

NOTBobby's use of Bobby ism's and mannerisms bugs me.  He was too freakin' cool to live in South Dakota, but he's like our Bobby in every other way?  Please.

This entire episode bugged me.  The pacing, the stupid repeat of a scene we'd already seen.  When it's just Sam, Dean and Cas, even when they're working on something big like hunting down Abadon or Amara, they ate, drank, talked to each other.  This episode was just bounce around from one thing to the next.  Too much going on, they must have used 6 different sets. To do what?  Show Nick being evil, traces of Lucifer still there?  Jack being needy and bratty?  That could have been accomplished in so many other, less annoying ways.  I guess it's the early writers fault for setting the bar so high, creating expectations of a real story that I cared about.

Oh thank Chuck! The whole "Cast-yell" thing bugs the shit out of me! Now I don't feel so shallow...

This definitely feels like "setup" versus any remote resolution.

I'm also wondering (like @Katy M) if Nick killed his own family.

Since Michael drew Sam & company to him, I'm guessing he wanted to test his 'wolfgels' (anweres?) on the best hunters.  And they failed (but just barely).  So I don't know WHAT Michael is up to now.  But I don't think Dean is in the clear.

Need a rewatch but Cas, sweetie, I realize both are technically adults but it's not babysitting if your charges take off from the bunker and you don't know where they are.

    Hi Sue!

I agree about Nick killing his family. I believe that's why he was able to be a vessel for Luci.

  5. Haven't been around in a while, but I love Supernatural!

My thought on this episode agrees with you all, it sucked!

But I believe the reason Nick is back is because they are setting it up to save Dean. Sam will stab Michael with the blade, and Dean will live as Michael dies.

    Nice to be back!

How do you feel about Gauguin? As soon as I took a look at Cezanne's The Bathers, I thought of him. Here's a painting of his that doesn't have any nudity...but also isn't as much like The Bathers as the ones that do have nudity are ;)

BTW the La Brea Tar Pits are actually incredibly cool. It's a pretty small museum, but places like that just get your imagination going, you know?

I'm so late to this , but I must say, Cezanne is the best colorist in the world! I'm an art nut.

  7. Never knew where to post this, so I'll put it here. I always thought Supernatural should use this Pink Floyd song: " Wish You Were Here" Probably can't afford it.

    Wish You Were Here

    Pink Floyd

So, so you think you can tell
    Heaven from hell
    Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
    From a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

Did they get you to trade
    Your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
    Did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

    How I…

How I wish, how I wish you were here
    We're just two lost souls
    Swimming in a fish bowl
    Year after year
Running over the same old ground
    And how we found
    The same old fears
    Wish you were here

Ahhh. Liked it. That ending! (I do like that Cas threatened the Empty Creature with just being too damned annoying for eternity... ;-) )

I still want the original Death back, but Billie-as-Death is better than Billie-as-Reaper.

    (Hi, guys!)

Omegamom! First a good episode, and now you're back! What a great night! I've missed you!

  9. New to this thread, hang on Supernatural, but love the NFL!

Will someone smarter than I explain this to me? Did Papa John's statement just trash Kaepernick's law suit? Can the owners now claim it wasn't collusion, but protecting their revenue base?

Glad to see some die hard Giants fans here, suffering with me. It comforts me. Thank you!

Oh, and I have to add, as a pizza lover, what Papa John's sells isn't pizza! Not eve close!

Hey, did y'all know Missouri Mosely was a hunter? Just ask Andred LOL!Canon Dabb. And you don't need silver to kill a wraith.

On the bright side, Dean actually got to kick ass and kill the MOTW, but not before he dropped his gun, again.

And that fight at the end - that's why I love Dean. How he gets pegged as the one who doesn't share his emotions/feelings, I'll never understand. He's the most honest character they have. And laying it out for Sam was awesome. And Sam blaming Dean for Jack being messed up can fuck right off.

    Inter-dimensional can opener. Heh.

ETA: Why did Jody say "I had a daughter, Claire."

Also, Mark Pellegrino was not in the opening credits. I thought 'regulars' were in the credits whether they were in the ep or not?

Didn't read all the posts yet, (Bad, I know) but bolded part hit me! What's up? Did I miss something?

Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) continues to work with Jack (Alexander Calvert) on learning how to control his powers. Writer: Robert Berens Director: Robert Singer

  12. I can't wait! I love Missouri (actually Loretta Devine, she's always been a fav of mine) ) so this is a treat for me.

    And yayyy Jodi too!

I like the guys splitting up for now. Sam handles Jack well. I just hope he takes the time to explain where Dean's head is right now, and his grief over Cas. So much conflict in this show could be avoided if they would just talk!

  13. I never post here, I hang out at Supernatural, but the snark here? Classic! You guys have me bursting out in laughter! I'm so happy to see I'm not the only one driven nuts by Negan, my husband loves him!

Who ever posted that the perfect torture was being locked up with Negan, is a true sadist! Ya make Marquis de Sade look like Monty Python's "Spanish Inquisition!"

My last surgery took a while to recover from and I know this one isn't as serious as the last, but if I can deal with it without surgery I'm going to try.  Funny, now I know...I'm getting some pain, so is it I'm getting pain because I know something is wrong???? or...

I'm getting some natural suggestions from people so since doing surgery right now, isn't agreeable to my time table, I'll try food choices first.  If it doesn't work, I had friends who have had the surgery so I know I can live a long life without it...I just don't wanna do it.  :)

I think my problem is lately I've been eating out and all the wrong foods, so today trying to move back into eating the right stuff.  Thanks everyone for the support, I'll be fine.  :)

Sorry I haven't responded sooner 7kstar, life got in the way! Glad to here it's the gallbladder and not cancer! Prayers answered!

Mick had his gallbladder taken out years ago, and it changed his life! He has cut down on fat, but he hasn't had to completely cut it out, and has had no ill effects. He went in for surgery around 6am and was home by noon. Spent a few days in the recliner, and was back to normal within a week. PM with any questions, and Mick will answer.

I get the burn out with teaching, honestly I do. Keep writing! I have faith in you!

    I am excited too.

Thanks Diane! You're my buddy, ain't ya!

But seriously, I think this is the perfect spin-off. Much better than the monster cluster-fuck a few years ago. This will keep us fans watching! The diehard fans will never give up!

  16. Mods can delete if this is the wrong thread; but! Is anyone else excited about "Wayward Sisters"? I am! Not sure about Jodi's wards and Missouri's granddaughter, but I love Jodi and Donna together! Next to a Bobby and Rufus spin-off, this was my fondest wish!

I can't imagine our life without some form of Supernatural, and this fits in perfectly. I know, we have to wait and see how the writers handle it, but I have high hopes!
