Thanks to David and all the dedicated mods here at PTV for hosting this forum. And thank you to all the wonderfully snarky and intelligent posters here. I learned a lot from you and I appreciated the articles, tweets, comments brought over here from here and there around the net. It was pretty much one stop shopping for all the election news (and beyond) and I, for one, have appreciated having this forum and all of you to share thoughts and ideas, hopes and fears with. If there is any move towards starting up somewhere else, please don't leave me behind. My education is far from complete and I'll miss the daily chuckles so many of you have given me. Keep the faith and never lose that ability to laugh even when everything seems so dark and hopeless. You guys are simply the best!

Oh I don't know. This one is pretty terribly wrong as well: You had tears? Reading this, the laugh came so hard, so fast, catching me so completely off guard, I think I hurt something. I had tears. I had gasping for air. I had light-headedness and strange lights whirring around me. Thank God for Canadian health care. This made me laugh. BUT, I can say from personal experience that it does make a difference. My Mum and I, a few times forgot to put on our maple leaf pin when in Europe and we were treated with a marked difference. Then my brother who had been who knows where showed up and things flipped immediately from rude and standoffish to friendly and welcoming. Sad but true.

Awwwww, she's a cutie. And that look of awe and wonder is priceless.

I'll echo the sentiments of PatsyandEddie. This Canadian is grateful for the education I've received about the American electoral process and so many other things. I cried along with you, was outraged by words and deeds done by people less evolved. And I laughed. That was an unexpected treat. Our posters are simply the best. Wit and wisdom is such a heady thing - I think I'm in love! So a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays from me to all of you. The Trump supporters on TV have often had me scratching my head during the past year and a half but I gotta admit, try as I might, I can't figure out what this moron's point is. So you take away two of the most populated states in the nation and The Orange Oaf wins the popular vote? On the other hand, if you take away the deep south and other conservative states, Hillary would have won the popular...of wait, she did and she didn't even have to fudge the math. I've always thought Jack Kingston was a flake but this latest has me truly worried. Do you suppose he was "experimented on" during his recent trip to sunny Moscow?

Don't worry backformore. Some in the USA have become laughingstocks. Actually some have been that for quite sometime. The world was not impressed when Dubya won twice but you survived that. I'm sure the world knows of the extreme opposition to Trump. They know he won because of an antiquated system - the electoral college. They know he lost the popular vote and that the majority did not vote him into office. They know Trump and his supporters are a "special" breed and that they do not speak for all of America. They will continue to be laughingstocks but I'm betting The Resistance will get much respect.

The person changes to accommodate the job. Donald Trump is not some special snowflake that you throw out 220+ years of history and service that came before. If he doesn't need the billionaire superstars to perform why, why, why do they keep trying to get them to perform. Enquiring minds want to know? And if it's not about celebrities but about every day Americans, here's a thought. Kick the Rockettes to the curb. Just say no to The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. There is only one of the original BB's now touring (Mike Love) and an early replacement (Bruce Johnston). Mike Love is a bit of an asshole and a Republican so I can see this happening. Of course the the current line-up is one step away from being a legacy band which is not exactly first string as far as wowing the masses for this inauguration. But, the good news is that rumours have it that Chachi will be playing drums for the night. THAT should up the ticket requests, dontcha think? Hello...can you hear me...is anyone out there?

I'm sitting here in tears. So beautiful, so moving, so heartening. I know that there is evil in the world. I know there are liars and cheats, hate and prejudice. But there is also kindness and compassion, fairness and trust. There are those that love their fellow man because they realize we are all stewards of this world, all deserving of respect and equality. They know we are more alike than different and want to treat all people as they would like to be treated. Yes, the world has evil but I want to believe those that live with love and compassion in their hearts are still in the majority. The next four years are going to be tough for Americans and perhaps many others around the world. Things will change and it may take years to reverse what this new administration puts in place. But I have hope that right will win out in the end. Yes, I am an eternal optimist so I hope because I can't fathom that the good in this world will be held captive by evil forevermore.

So the American public will be paying to provide protection for Trump wherever he may be and NYC will be paying to provide a second team to protect Melania and Barron as well (unless they are successful in having it funded by the government). On top of that it looks like you will all be paying for these "rallies" for the next four years . Yes, this is a precursor to fascism but it is also the way for this moronic tyrant to get his overblown ego stroked. It's going to be a very long, expensive and emotionally taxing four years. Please God let him be impeached sooner than later!
