  1. This show has transcended Lost. I thought this was a pretty clear opener reestablishing everything but at the end I couldn't help but wonder if the end of the series is imminent. There is no way anyone new could pick up this show anymore, the standalone story was not compelling and the complexity and concentration needed to watch this show seems like it is severely limiting potential audience. I worry. I like this show a lot and I love the layers....but it's so not...mainstream.
  2. I didn't realize slippery pete and the russian astronaut were one in the same! That was a great line in the movie. Does anyone know how plausible it was for wiggy to rip the leeds out of her shoulder, shoot a guy and stumble out of the building, track a girl and jump her? You know, cuz plausibility is important in this show.
  3. I thought that was a good opener! I wish we could swap "jane" for wiggy, who will forever remain wiggy to me. I even snickered when kendoll said "wigged out" and we watched wiggy preen in the window with her hair. I screamed "shoot her!" Which of course is not nice. And isn't hook the dude from the Frogger episode of Seinfeld? I need holes! Why does the wiggy character have to say "why" or " i don't understand" everytime Red says something definitive to her that requires immediate reaction? And isn't Red's wife at least partially responsible for the carnage, including to her ownself....or should wiggy and company have dragged her ass out of there? They sat there and let her tell her story and bam......
  4. I love Artem's vibe. No one seems bothered that Carrie Ann would have trouble being objective to a former medium term lover though? Is it because we are forced to accept Julianne's objectivity for her brother? For some reason I think judging a sibling would be less difficult. Judging a man with whom i shared a bed with for so long would just be so awkward. Carrie Ann is such a fawny ditz anyway...if she mentions Artem's dance making her hot or giddy or her dolphin screams then it just seems too based in reality. Maybe I'm the only person who is getting the Icks.
  5. I feel like the final 2 trucks played the best game but lost the spirit of the competition. The Lone Star truck was ok price gauging quesadillas and Middle Feast went further and further away from their flavors for short prep times and short cut foods. Bacon and Vocal Fry Beach Cruisers had more cooking integrity at least how I saw it or how it was edited. Middle Feast didn't exactly embrace the local part of the challenge this week and didn't get penalized. Bacon should have abandoned their menu a long time ago for bacon and cheese tacos for 20 bucks. They were making loaded burgers, pancakes and lettuce wraps. Yikes.
  6. It was nice to see Cary be able to stretch from the Young Guy role. His unsettled jail stay was a nice touch...the confusion, tension and slow reveal was Breaking Bad-esque...although scaled for network TV. Kalinda, bisexual temptress...they keep trying but I still ain't buying. I don't even buy her ability to get all things deemed important information...but I suspend my belief because I know the storyline has to advance. This show still hasn't replace Josh's.....presence? Energy? Vibrance? Taye isn't it. I'm even desperate for a flashback. Dream sequence? Sigh. Eli keeps me coming back...both as a character and Alan the actor. He rules.
  7. I use basically the same thing, grounds, sugar and salt. There are lots of variations of this recipe blend on the internet. Denine doing the whole "why should I be punished when it wasn't my fault" thing was ridiculous. I was hoping she would stick around, cause her team to lose the next challenge and then her entire team sits out the punishment and makes her do it. Goose meet gander. Entitled fodder! The scallops are already very subjective this year. Sterling's first batch looked pale. I like a harder sear on my scah-lahps.
  8. I love new schtuffs....when I couldn't figure out Ny's "ash krispies" she had me LOL. Jen still seems unglued and her intro voiceover from Curtis was generous IMO. Not sure about favorites per se....Takashi and David could have gone either way....they have similar TV exposure and both are highly respected industry wise...maybe even David a bit moreso? And I'm not sure Antonia was favored over her cousin. She's on TV more because of Chopped but he has the bigger culinary reputation? At least I don't have to listen to Mike laugh.
  9. Lolo was the right choice to boot. I love good snark fodder but this is picking on someone tragically wounded. I watched her dance again and her text cue doesn't even start her dance...they prance in a circle and start on a beat. She messed up and then flipped out. Meh. I wish her well...more Betsey and Chong!
  10. I would have loved the Pro Shuffle with Lolo getting paired with Derek. Hmph. Keo needs some sound bite media training but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. And my eyes rolled pretty far back in my head over the story of Lolo's prom date telling her she couldnt dance as personal drama and motivation....sheesh she has some serious man issues. She said she has never slow danced with another man since then?? Um, this show isn't for you hon. That kind of messy internal dialogue needs professional help, not a fluffy glitter and unicorn poop of a tv show! Holy Smokey Eye Job. Peta was hilarious..."i want to go all the way with you." Pause. "That sounded sexual but I didn't mean it that way." LOL Peta dressed as Mary Jane. Drop it like it's hot girl.
  11. This is unexpected. Randy was good and Karina's choreo suited him really well.
  12. Allison the new pro has great energy and is very watchable. I don't know who her partner is though so I'm afraid they will fall into that forgettable zone. Is it me or are they having timing issues with the judges' commentary? The 4 judges seem to be parroting the same comments because it fits into their "8 seconds" they have. It doesn't leave Carrie time to be ditzy, Bruno to be flamboyant or Len to be crabby in his Delightfully Crabby Zone. I guess adding the 4th judge was kind of a mistake?
  13. I thought Betsy was delightfully enthusiastic. I'd rather watch her than Lolo any day. I don't know who Sadie is but she needs to watch her resting bitch face. She probably doesn't mean to look like she's frowny and pouty when she's not on camera primary but the camera finds her in a panorama shot. The whole Mrs. Robinson thing was awkward with Artem and Lea and um....Carrie. Did I say resting bitch face? What is UP with Lolo Jones??? Sheesh. That Keo guy is cute. Too bad his run will be short.
