I don't know if I agree that they've pulled back on it. Yes, they're not officially a couple or even friends with benefits, but they're still touchy feely and flirting non-stop. Compare their friendship to others on the show...you won't see Liz standing side by side with Patrick, holding his hand, in a private work meeting, for example. I just think it's obvious that Sam/Patrick aren't being written in scenes together to showcase a platonic relationship. I'd literally bet money that they will have a sex montage a second before the scene Jason remembers.

But don't you think romance/sex is where it will eventually end up? Like, right before the Jason reveal? It's so Ron to do it that way.

Oh, I agree with a bunch of your points, jsbt. And I've always thought that the story was Robin/Patty/Sam/Jason. But this is a very special case. They want to bring KMc back for short stints, cool. But if you need to keep Scrubs alive in the meantime, you're also continuing to put Patrick in limbo for like, ever. Because they refuse to give him a real story that's not about sexing women up. It's just so odd. A choice needs to be made. Either end for good or keep them together. Anything in-between is just a bad story, IMO. Yep, exactly. He ruins the couple he actually wants to end up together. It's quite funny.

What's really bizarre is the show won't just fucking let go of Scrubs. Because that's the only thing behind these decisions and the "only 2 options." It's all to keep Scrubs intact later on. WHICH MAKES NO SENSE. Is this Ron's decision? Frank? KMc? Jason? Like, why do they care!!?? Just divorce the characters normally and then Robin can come back whenever. Because obviously KMc wants to be there, she just can't full-time.

All of it is so utterly ridiculous. Their KG obsession is what drives this mess. And the Robin stuff gives me a freaking rash. Like fans such as myself are required to sit there and love that no character gives a flying fuck that she's gone. Emma is only allowed to have a .02 second fit every 6 months, if that, so Patrick can act like the Heroic Father Who Stayed. #FreeRobin

While I get it's a plot point, as is everything in the Liz/Jason/Sam/Patty quad, at a certain point, it's still things the characters are doing and saying. Some fans will ignore and others won't, you know? The show may be fine and dandy pretending that Liz and Jason were tru wuv and then drop it like it never happened six months from now, but I'm over Ron's stories that are impossible to follow.

Honestly, it doesn't matter to me who the show is trying to say Liz loves now, the fact is...Jason was married with a child. He was Sam's husband. And Liz having a pic of her and Jason on her mantel with pics of her sister and children...but not Lucky or Zander...two of her children's daddies....is insane.
