  1. It looks like Nathan is splitting duties with Vincent.
  2. Given COVID and other issues, I wish they had approached the Games differently. Instead of one county hosting the entire event, split it up between them. One country handles the ice sports, one the snowboarding, one the skiing, etc. You wouldn’t have these huge numbers in one place.
  3. Part of me thinks it’s a culture thing…. I’m like “you aren’t even going to pretend?” Lol. It’s very honest and direct.
  4. I have a few unpopular figure skating opinions and enjoying the Love Story program is one of them. It still gets me.
  5. Watching the Peacock documentary series Meddling on the 2002 Olympic Scandal. I’m impressed; actual Footage I have not seen before. Interviews with all the players (including the French judge). Funnily enough Anton and the French judge criticize Sale/Pelletier for not doing a new program at the Olympics. I have to say The Russian trio (counting Tamara) do not come across great. All of them make comments putting down Sale/Pelletier performance. You can argue about difficulty and style preferences but the Canadians showed up.
  6. I hate this part. Ilia came out and did his job at the Olympic qualifier. He should be on the Team. I feel terrible for Vincent, but he was a mess. I keep having this thought. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the competition was full of alternatives.
  7. They announced. It’s Nathan, Jason and Vincent.
  8. One thing that I really appreciate about the American men is how competitive their mindset is; I can’t say that about the women. I feel like the top US Women have just accepted they are middle of the pack and are ok with it. I find it really frustrating as a fan of the sport.
  9. Charlie White and Tanith Belbin announced they are opening up an Ice Dance School (Michigan Ice Dance Academy) next year. I think that’s pretty cool. They are partnering with another former skater/current coach. I’m not familiar with him, Greg something.
  10. It doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. I’ve seen a lot of posting about Ruby’s onset behavior since the allegations were made but I haven’t seen anything about Scott. She’s also claiming he is filing a lawsuit against her. If that’s the case, it’s going to get messier.
  11. Honestly, I’m not really sure what’s going to get accomplished. I read that and then popped over to Twitter to see more industry people talking about how awful she is on set. Sounds like it’s going to cancel itself out. Which is sad if it means potentially poor/unsafe working conditions will not be addressed.
  12. The Canadian judge mentioned three mistakes by the Russians. The bobble on the side by side jumps I got (Tamara saying that wasn’t a mistake but a small detail made me raise an eyebrow) but I don’t see the other ones. The replays looked fine.
  13. I’m in the middle. I can easily believe set conditions weren’t good and that Ruby wasn’t easy to work with.
  14. Rewatched this episode. I completely missed that during the holiday party, when Darhk tells Oliver that sometimes to teach someone a lesson you have punish the one he cares about the most, the camera goes to Darhk/Quentin. He even finishes the sentence with a dramatic hand gesture seemingly in Lance’s direction. A subtle moment very different then the other death anvils.
  15. So happy for April Ross! Third times a charm.
  16. The US swimsuits really did look like Budweiser cans. The worst.
  17. I kind of get it. It’s mentally and physically taxing but it’s also all she’s ever know and all she’s sacrificed for. Sometimes walking away can be just as terrifying as staying. ^response to Skinner’s post
  18. One source is saying the Official hit the wrong button during the first review, declaring the challenge successful. How sloppy.
  19. Anyone remember Seabiscuit? The part where he levels up with his competition and then charges forward to win. I think I’m going to start calling Finke “Seabiscuit”.
  20. Dressel gets so emotional. It’s sweet. I’m excited for the American women in 2024. Lots of potential in these up and comers.
  21. I keep watching the end of the 800. I can’t believe how much distance he put between the field at the end. That wasn’t even close. Reminds me of Ledecky’s first Olympic 800. The surprise of it.
