Also, they're related in a circuitous, soapy kind of way (yes I know Lucas is a Spencer through adoption, but it still counts). Maybe she'll fall out of the newly-repaired window in Ava's hotel room, be rushed to GH but die from her injuries, then have her body (played by a skeleton with a bad wig) dug up and carted around by the town supervillain to torment Dante. (see: Nash Brennan from OLTL, after portrayer Forbes March got on Frank's bad side, possibly over the length of his hair). You can't make this shit up.

It's required for all characters who aren't designated The Ultimate Evil (Nina, Ava, etc etc) 🤢

Is it bad that I’m relieved to have a three day respite from this show?

According to Hallmark: Yes. And it's also your responsibility to move home to save your family cupcake farm when Big Cupcake threatens to move in and take over. Lots of life lessons to be learned from Hallmark 😉 ETA - A legit Halloween movie starring anyone would be awesome, but I agree Sustad and Campbell would be a fantastic choice.

Yeah, season 2 definitely has a darker tone, but I just hope they don’t get so carried away that the show becomes as dark and dismal and generally hopeless as all of the other shows out there these days. Also, if they go easy on us with “Appa’s Lost Days” I won’t mind at all 😢 -
Sad to say I was disappointed in the Cases of Mystery Lane sequel. I think the mystery could have been a pretty good one but IMO the zany hijinks were annoying and distracting and undercut the seriousness of the original murder mystery (Rockvale Killer). I've always enjoyed Paul Campbell but this time I think they gave him too much leeway with the silliness and it didn't work for me at all. (Probably didn't help that I had a mouse problem of my own this summer, and a few cheap humane traps from Amazon and a bit of peanut butter took care of them no problem, so all of his over the top schemes just grated). PC and Aimee Garcia work well together, and clearly both have great comedic chops, but the tone just didn't work for a murder mystery IMO.

I watched Falling Together last night and holy hell was Ashley Williams A LOT. I'm an oversensitive introvert with anxiety issues and just watching her stressed me out. Yikes. People like her character are the reason people like me want to hide in the house and not interact with the world. The few moments when she actually toned it down were nice, but far too few. AW sounds like a nice person but I think I'll have to go back to not bothering with her movies. She's always a lot, but this movie was next level.

Gio's prettier, and doesn't wear five pounds of makeup all the time.

Same here, I think he’s a great find that they’re completely wasting (GH’s signature move). If I was 20 years younger I could develop a pretty hefty tv crush on him. He and Trina could be a great couple if they’d just write them a damn story.

Can’t wait to see Toph in action! 🥳 A few tidbits with Gordon - hoping the stuff about a ‘darker tone’ is just speculation https://comicbook.com/anime/news/avatar-the-last-airbender-gordon-cormier-interview-future-scenes/ https://comicbook.com/anime/news/avatar-the-last-airbender-star-gordon-comrier-season-two-dark-tone-exclusive/ -
Don’t know if we’re still sharing news in this thread, but here’s a horrifying interview with Sarah J Brown 💔 https://soaps.sheknows.com/general-hospital/news/743742/sarah-joy-brown-reveals-roofied-raped/

So they killed Jagger. Of course they did. I don't know what world TIIC live in that they obviously think we will be cheering this on, but it's so fucking twisted. Honestly, wtf is wrong with them? It is. The audience's. Same here, that still offends me whenever I think about OLTL. And as someone who witnessed KMansi's attempt at playing DID on Days, I really really hope Show doesn't go there. *shudders* If they'd have her recognize and address this, as well as acknowledge how she glommed on to Wiley rather than grieve the death of her own son, it would be a really interesting look at the depths of trauma that cults inflict. But we can't have interesting things, because this is GH. Though her therapy sessions could pay for a pretty extensive remodel on Kevin and Laura's Tardis-like apartment. Jazz hands=charisma. But it's still more than Michael has to offer. Yes, it is.

An old article, but for anyone who may be interested: https://www.showbiz411.com/2019/03/31/soap-opera-chaos-as-scientologist-actress-michelle-stafford-exits-general-hospital-as-show-does-cult-storyline

Stafford was never on OLTL (thank goodness!) and IIRC supposedly left because she didn’t like the Dawn of Day cult storyline because of her own real life cult religious affiliations.

I've always called that role the Before Boyfriend (as in, before the heroine meets her real love interest). I agree, it's hard to shake that impression no matter how many things I've seen him in since. I've been catching up on the backlog of movies on my DVR recently. To my surprise I loved Costa Rican Wedding, and I wasn't expecting anything other than gorgeous scenery. Christopher Russell has charisma to spare and Rhiannon Fish, despite her off-putting fillers and face work, is a fun actress, and I thought they sparked well. My Dreams of You was a lot of fun, a refreshing injection of whimsy and fantasy into the tropey land of Hallmarkia, and I've enjoyed the lead actress since her Nine Lives of Chloe King days (clawtastic!). I always enjoy a fantasy bent in my entertainment, and I thought this was a fun idea. But I'll be the odd one out and say I thought Junebug was a miss, and I'd had high hopes for it since I love Autumn Reeser. But the kid bugged the shit out of me (as she did on Supergirl) and the story just didn't come together for me. IMO the 'follow your dreams instead of settling for safe and practical' theme was handled much better in the Dreams movie, and with more finesse. Looking forward to the Magic of Lemon Drops this weekend. Nice to see some movies with a little personality coming to Hallmark!

The Dragon Prince - General Discussion
Maelstrom replied to Meredith Quill's topic in The Dragon Prince
Finally, a decent season! The past two were massively disappointing to me, but this season felt like it actually was the same show I enjoyed so much at the beginning. There was less stupidity driving the story (it wasn’t completely absent, but still a big improvement) and a lot less time wasted on stupid humor and filler. We got some much-needed plot movement and character development, and finally learned some crucial backstories that put a lot of different aspects of the show in a new perspective. Speaking of, we finally get Aaravos’ backstory after six seasons! It certainly casts his actions in a new light, and it’s impossible not to feel sympathy for him. I can’t help but feeling the other Startouch elves created this gigantic problem for themselves, by giving someone as powerful as Aaravos a reason to hate them. But Terry did make a good point, that what started as love became revenge and hatred. It’s a complex story for certain, refreshingly so. Viren’s redemption arc was so well-handled, and I’ve been wanting scenes between him and Soren since the end of season 3, so I really enjoyed their storyline. It’s completely understandable Soren would hesitate to believe a word Viren says, considering how many years of emotional abuse he endured, and especially since even when Viren is being totally honest he still sounds like he’s trying to sell you something, lol. Hopefully in time Soren can realize that Viren’s regrets, however poorly expressed, were genuine. The story thread about truth can give clarity or a burden was a fascinating one as well, and an interesting way to tie together Callum’s journey with Viren’s redemption. And thank goodness Viren had the self-awareness not to give that letter to Soren, who is, let’s face it, a teddy bear in human form. Claudia’s reaction when Viren left definitely held shades of Azula, IMO, poor troubled young women that they are (though unlike Ozai, Viren at least seems to finally recognize he’s been a spectacularly shitty father, so points to him for that). Claudia and Terry as a pairing continue to hold zero interest for me, considering I still have no idea how a Xadian can love a dark mage who continually does some increasingly nasty dark magic. Yes, I've said this for the past three seasons, but it’s a huge sticking point for me. How did they even fall for each other in the first place? And why should I even care? Yay, Runaan! I’m so happy to finally see him freed. Looking forward to more interactions between him and Rayla, and it will definitely be interesting to see how he handles the new world of Xadians and humans living side by side. Also loved seeing the Moon Nexus again, considering I really wish I could live there. (Seriously, I want to.) Other things I enjoyed: Learning about Callum’s bio dad Soren and Corvus’ buddy road trip (there will be hugs, Corvus, just accept it) The oh-so-subtle frozen “Rayllum” ship giving me serious Firebender-ship-stuck-in-the-ice vibes Ezran’s girlish voice continues to jar, although partway through the season it almost sounded like either the VA tried to deepen her voice or it was tweaked in post. Either way, it helped, but I still feel they should have recast after season 3. Was I the only one who thought of Miyazaki's kodamas when the little mushroom spirits appeared? Actually looking forward to season 7 now, which I saw premieres in December. Woo hoo! -

It took me several minutes to wonder how I could've missed a return appearance from Kim McC (I haven't been watching, just occasionally skimming the thread) so I wanted to clarify the following for my own sake - do I have these right? KMcM - Katelyn McMullen KM - Kate Mansi KMcC - Kimberly McCullough KeMo - Kelly Monaco Am I forgetting anyone? Makes you wonder if casting is scouring Hollywood for actresses with the initials KM. 🤔

If they don't already, they should have 360° cameras like taekwondo, so any inquiries can be examined at any and all angles, frame by frame. What a fucking mess, one that didn't need to happen in the first place. Poor Jordan and poor Ana.

How Show sees itself: Reality:

So as far as I can tell the mens’ synchronized 3m springboard is supposed to be happening tomorrow but I can’t find it listed to air on tv anywhere. Anyone have any ideas where it might be found on Dish Network? Also, why is NBC making it nearly impossible to watch most of the events? 😠
-
And our hearts go out to him every year - he clearly has the patience of a saint. Add to me the “NBC’s broadcast coverage majorly sucks” chorus. They didn’t even show Flavia’s can-can floor routine! 😠

Damn! We all saw the writing on the wall but this still hurts. UO I guess, but I've always liked ME back from his Port Charles days. I am sorry to see him go, and I'm sorry these idiot writers flushed his character down the crapper on his way out. Wishing him the best in his future creative endeavors. I've been wondering who ME's salary would be going to, and I suppose this is my answer. Just like RoHo was clearly let go to pay for SB. Another UO but I have no interest in watching JJ again - I liked him as young Lucky but I'd much rather see a new actor in the role.

Mirabelle, wanting to kick Michael in the face is perfectly natural response anytime he opens his mouth. I love your headcanon about Monica off visiting AJ! It's my headcanon now too. 😊
