Corlys was made better by Rhaenys. Eve Best is magnetic. The Seasnake without the Queen Who Never Was, will indeed be lesser to watch. Oh, I wish Rhaenyra had made her Hand, officially. I supposed Daemon would have had a temper tantrum over that, considering himself to be that. As for Daemon's reaction that Meleys is gone, I hope he's pissed beyond measure. They might have had a fighting chance against that ugly old bitch Vhagar if both Meleys and Caraxas were on the attack together. But no. He's off diddling and dreaming in the Creepiest Place on Earth.

Enter Corlys' new sons? And the fact that Laenor's dragon was restless and circling around the younger one last week? Fuck Vhagar and Fuckleberry McEyepatch and especially fuck Crispy Cole. When he gave that big sigh and got up, I threw the remote across the room. Yeah, I knew if was too soon for a most satisfying death of that POS, but I was still hopeful. And my my my MY, Queen Dowager of Hypocrisy. We certainly slammed that Plan B tea, didn't we? RIP, Rhaenys and Melys. I won't get over this one. Such was the trauma of their demise that King Rapey Dopey being incinerated was just an "ehhhh" on my radar.

And if there ever was a man who fit the name of Aegon the Unworthy, the current rapey drunken dimwit certainly applies.

Except Jace and Joff (and Luke, RIP) are just as much Targaryen blood as Alicent's children. Both sets are 50% Targ, and 50% either Hightower or Strong biologically, or Hightower and Velaryon (wink, wink) officially. If they were actual Velaryon's, they'd have even more Targ blood than Alicent's meal tickets. It would be a battle of public relations. Who's messaging is more convincing.

🤣 My money is on the dog coming up with an answer faster than Crispy. They'd both give up and start humping the nearest leg, first.

Well, he wouldn't be a Hightower if he wasn't. And if he has Crispy's number, doesn't bow to him, and possibly undermines him (or BONUS, causes his death) , that's as likable as I'm willing to call anyone on Team Green. Except Heleana. She gets a pass.

Damn. I need to re-watch. Totally missed that. Seasmoke got mention two episodes in a row. Does he (she?) sense that his true master is not really dead? The line "Brother he owes you. He owes US," from last week, and the conversation on who will succeed Corlys as Prince of Tides with Luke being dead and Joff being only six years old, foreshadowing Corlys having bastard sons? Oh, the delightful RBF that we will get from Eve Best if that comes to light!! Does Seasmoke sense that the two brothers are related to her departed/not actually dead master, Leanor? Thus, is why he/she is circling them and is restless? Am I reaching for the stars, here (tm Miranda Priestly) I was also rooting for Baela to BBQ Crispy. But, I knew it was too soon, and to do that would be to also incinerate the newly introduced and so far likeable and levelheaded Hightower brother. I am soooo rooting for him to have Crispy's number. Yeah, Alicent. You're a cunty dumb ass. Glad you finally realized that your dying husband was deliriously mumbling about a story that he used to tell his favored child, and THAT'S who he was thinking about in his final moments. Not you. Not your dim bulb deviant eldest offspring. You heard what you wanted to hear and your sexual assaulting, bully of a son is now (literally) drunk with power and lusts for war. And you are powerless to stop it. Not even hand jobbing the Hand will get you your way now. He doesn't pine for you the way he did Rhaenyra. He controls you with sex, not the other way around.

Same. One satisfying Otto scene does not erase the hate that I feel for the character, entirely. It's just that right now, pretty, dumb, bitter, sex toy Crispy has taken the top spot. It's like when the number one song on Kasey Kasem's American Top 40, would slip to #2 and a new one takes it's place at #1. Sometimes the old #1 rebounds and takes back its spot. If Crispy becomes a flaming man kabob for a dragon any time soon, Otto will regain the #1 position, I'm sure of it.
-
Same, on all but the Aemond thinness. I audibly gasped when the camera went to the long shot. And Otto was THE MAN in this episode. Well, except for the "let's use a baby's death to our political advantage" part. The ACTING was perfection. Dressing down Aegon was spot on. Otto himself? Still a POS. But he has moved down one position in the HoD characters whose satisfyingly gruesome death I need to witness. He's now #2. Crispy is in top position now.
-
This is the first time I've ever actually LIKED Otto. The first time I didn't want to smack the smug off of him. The realization that he's the only one in the entire place with an ounce of common sense was written all over his face. Outstanding acting by Rhys Ifans. I was surprised that Crispy was made Hand. I was sure that Larys was angling for the position. The Crispy body count adds up each episode. You could hang last week's child killing on him for leaving Helaena and her children unprotected and vulnerable and now the twins. And now he's Hand? Holy crap. Who is next? Unlike Daemon's body count, Crispy's is unintentional; and borne out of stupidity not cunning. Daemon doesn't sit there and pretend to be virtuous and righteous. He, and everyone around him, knows he's a cold blooded killer and to trust him at their own peril. Crispy kills those around him with fuck ups and these morons promote him for it. Ugh. Poor Helaena. How long before her brother husband starts assaulting her for the purpose of knocking her up with a substitute heir?

It seems like they are setting up Crispy to die some horrible and incredibly satisfying (for the viewer) death, eventually. For every heartbreaking death, they SHOULD have one that makes you jump off your couch, throw you fist in the air and say "YESSSSSS, motherfucker!" Before, that was Otto (for me). Now...yeah, not as much, even though watching Otto choke to death on his dinner while dining completely and utterly alone, so that no one can save him, would work for me. You may be pretty, Crispy, but you're a fucking douchebag. And not even a SMART villainous douchebag. A pretty boy with an empty head on top of his shoulders. The little head seems to be doing all of the heavy lifting.
-
That was another reason why I did not immediately jump on the GoT bandwagon when everyone else did. One night I fell asleep on the couch watching HBO and GoT came on. I was awakened to the sounds of a child screaming for her parents while she was being burned alive. Horrifying when you're half asleep. I was like, yeah....no. I eventually tried to watch. But then they killed a dog right at the jump. So, I didn't watch until the last season. I have it in my MAX queue, so maybe eventually. I did know enough where picking up HoD wasn't too difficult. I was able to fill in the blanks reading comments here, actually. Was it here that someone mention that these episodes were done during the writer's strike, so holes in the story are going to happen, since they had to go with early drafts of the scripts?
-
I figured that the dog was there as part of the ruse. Terriers were used as rat catchers (my parents had a Wheaten Terrier. They were originally bred to flush out rodents. You should have seen Ollie when there was a rogue mouse trapped under the dishwasher). The nurse maid saw him, but thought he was there doing his job. The dog was part of his cover. But I had a bad feeling going in. "Don't fucking kill the dog." Yes, once again, I cared more about the dog than the kid. Shrug. Apologies.

Well, in my own defense, I wasn't hearing the background noises until someone pointed them out here.

THIS. Alicent is a widow, and unless there's some ancient code that widows cannot move on (Rhaenyra and Daemon sure didn't waste any time after their spouses passed, and Viserys eventually remarried after a time), then she can get her's. The only problem that I have is that she was so righteous and hypocritical regarding sexual behavior towards Rhaenyra and now she's finding out that hey...good sex ain't so bad. I mean, you know the King wasn't putting out like this. I can't stand the insufferable Alicent, but on this matter...whatever. Ride that bitter, petty, hot man. But her foot fetish scene with Larys. No thanks. I'm also on the side of Rhaenys and Corlys being the ones I root for. Rhaenys = Bad Ass. Also Jace, Baela and Raena. Probably Helaena, too, despite being one of the Greens. She's just so disregarded by her entire family. Ignored by her father (like all his second marriage children were, while their older half-sister was "The Rhelm's Delight,") Forced to marry her philandering idiot brother for the purpose of being a brood mare, and then being dismissed as an moron any time she opens her mouth, even by her mother. Forced to make a Sophie's Choice and then running in terror with the surviving child into a room where her mother is riding the help. Oy. Bad day, kid. And I also think there is a tie between Corlys and the younger man he was speaking to at the docks. Maybe the Seasnake found a little fun at a Port of Call many years back.
-
They all generally blow Helaena off as being "weird" or saying things that make no sense, which later have meaning. Last night she claimed to be "afraid of the rats," which her brother-husband dismissed and looked around, as if to look for non-existent rats in the room. Basically his version of an eye roll and pat on the head. Later, the rat catchers show up and kill her son. I don't even think that Alicent takes her comments seriously. She just hugs her as if to say, "Oh, my precious airhead." I do think that Helaena knew what she was doing in pointing out the actual boy, instead of bluffing, based on the beginning when Aegon shows up in the nursery, asking where his son was, with the intention of taking him to the council meeting and "beginning his training as heir to the throne," despite the fact that he's basically a pre-school age child incapable of giving two shits about adult conversation. She did not want Jaehaerys to go. She did not want her child participating in that shit.

Oh, I hope she isn't, or it fails miserably. Alicent is still of child bearing years, she could use a dose of "bastard child" comments thrown at her after her pious attitude and facilitating all the "bastard" talk among her own children towards Rhaenyra's, not to mention demanding to see the babies within minutes of birth and her snide comment of "keep trying. Maybe you'll eventually get one that looks like you," to Laenor. Bitch. That said, Alicent and Crispy would have beautiful children. But that's for a rom com, not the HOD. Is it weird that the killing of the wolf pup in the beginning of GoT swore me off watching that show, but I just shrugged over last night's turn of events? Helaena's pointing out the actual male child to the two bumbling idiots, instead of "saving the heir," was interesting. Did she know it was inevitable and she saw what power was doing to everyone else in her family and thought that her son was better off dead than being the heir to the throne? That she could see what power has done to both her protector-brother and her brother-husband and didn't want that for her son? Or is she that blindly naive and incapable of lying? I think she is portrayed as a bit simple, but I think she knew what was up, here.

I wonder if the Maria bittercakes vote hurts Charlie more than anything. I'll bet he wishes he could take back that standing O that he participated in when they voted her out.

Damn.

Everyone is hungry, Liz. Feeling entitled to the reward to the point of guilt tripping and whining about it, is bullshit. Even after they all come back, she's STILL bitching. If we were playing Survivor drinking game every time Liz says "burger," we'd be dead.

Is that who Eteri's daughter is skating for now? First Russia, then the US, and now Georgia? Keep switching countries until you land on one that needs a Dance team (which made their jump to the U.S. odd. Yes, I know she was born here, but they didn't have a prayer of breaking onto the World Team at U.S. Nationals). Switch to Pairs if you want that, honey. What a World's!! It was loaded with great performances in each discipline. Kind of makes the Russia Stans on social media, claiming that skating was dead without Russia and no one would watch without them, eat a huge bags of d*cks.
-
He stumbled and they got a 1.00 deduction for the fall. It's too bad because they were doing well.
-
Maybe Deniss was given the "tired, old musical warhorse deduction." Didn't he skate to Hallelujah? :) This deduction is given to Hallelujah, Carmen and maybe Nessun Dorma.
-
So, the U.S. gets two pairs for next year's World's by finishing 11, 12 and 13. A bit depressing with the placements, but at least it's not just one pair. With Deanna being 40, do you think she'll stick it out for two more years now that she's a World Champion? Green/Parsons are not in the Dance line up. Bratti/Somerville are the third pair. Was that the way that they were chosen, or are G/P injured?

Even harder to watch was Boyang Jin. He didn't qualify for the free skate, ending up in second to last place, and was crying as Brian Orser patted his back in the Kiss and Cry. A hard fall for a former World medalist. Anyone else think that Ilia seemed exhausted at the end? He landed everything. No mistakes, but he seemed tired. If he feels slighted by his scores, perhaps that will energize him to prove the judges wrong.
