  1. Probably Josiah before they found the "better" solution of ALERT.
  2. In which it is proven that Jilly Muffin put up a heathen tree, and that she does in fact drive Derick to/from work AND eats lunch with him EVERY.DAMN.DAY. Smothered much? I hope Derick gets some "alone time" in the bathroom. /eyeroll
  3. He graduated from his program in November. I've seen an IG pic of them together in Michigan over New Year's (their courting anniversary). Her left hand was hidden in the pics. The deed could well be done, just not announced, because it may well have been filmed. Stay tuned!
  4. Title suggestion: Lunch with Lurch. Origin: John's height, teeth and overall gangliness led me to think of Lurch. As for the lunch part, well, Alyssa posted IG pics of them going out to lunch after church like clockwork up until around Thanksgiving (now we know about the time they sprung the pregnancy news on the family). It was pretty obvious that Alyssa wanted to show the family that she wasn't straying, yadda, yadda, yadda. There were enough of these Lunch with Lurch posts to learn that her favorite place is the Cheesecake Factory. So much for being adventuresome.
  5. I've looked around on YouTube, but can't find the link to the episode. I thought I read that UP would have it, but all I saw were the promos and "special" videos. Can someone help a girl out here?
  6. I'm sure they have pat excuses planned like that so as to avoid such calls. What shocks me is that she picked up the phone at all. Don't they have call screening? As "celebs," you'd think that would be a must. Even if the call came from Fayetteville (not even their county, but they were also invested in that discrimination bill), you would think she'd recognize the phone number. Sorry, JD isn't at ALERT or the boy's Journey to the Heart. Those are gigs for the girls. And Josiah.
  7. As for Evelyn, Ohio did legalize gay marriage, but it was rescinded a couple of months ago. For all we know, Evelyn and her partner (sorry, can't remember her name) were first in line for a license. After 30 years of not being able to legalize it, I hope they were! Anything to make the Duggars seethe as they continue to be on the wrong side of history. Saw the Enquirer at the store yesterday. If there was a Duggar article, it was buried inside; the front was all about Miley Cyrus' "drug den." LOL
  8. Wasn't JD on the Bus of Hate tour with Smuggar and other various and sundry family members during much of October, leading up to the elections? Why would Mechelle lie? Oh wait...
  9. That was Brandon, Michael's boyfriend (probably fiancee by now). As for the Bateses being more palatable, a lot of that is producer-manipulated (compare Kelly's reaction to Trace's crash to Mechelle's reaction to Jason falling in the orchestra pit). We also have to remember that Gil Bates still sits on the Board of Directors of the cult that both they and the Duggars belong to. Gil Bates saw all the information regarding Gothard abusing scores of girls over the years, yet still sent his daughters off in his care on a mission to Peru. Being more friendly actually lures more people into the cult. From what I see on social media, the leghumpers have NO clue, thinking the Bateses are just "great Christian examples" and whatnot. TBH, they're actually more dangerous than the Duggars; the devil you know vs. the one you don't. Someone asked about girls' husbands/boyfriend. They're all derived from the cult. And there are rumors that Kelly tried to shop Zach around IBLP circles when she first got wind of the Zach/Whitney "friendship." I guess after the failed courtship, he may have been considered "damaged goods" amongst them, even with him being the son of a powerful man in the cult structure.
  10. They finally got a professional to run their website and it shows. Far better than the never-updated, hot mess that is the Duggars' site. eta: Although, upon closer inspection, they needed a proofreader; there are plenty in the Johnson family's picture (another fundie family from the looks of them...several kids, all skirts, etc.).
  11. I think being on this "Christian" channel may help the Bateses survive. They can openly espouse a lot of the views that the Duggars can't, being on a mainstream channel. I found the On Demand listing (don't have UP, but found it when I searched shows, so try that...NOW! I could only watch it this evening since the show expires at midnight), but it doesn't have the previews. I heard that they were going to show the doctor talking about miscarriages (plural), so maybe we'll get a few more details about Erin's condition, updated to fairly recently. They were filming as recently as two weeks ago, going by Bates family IG accounts. They also have 12 episodes to fill. Does anyone know if they're all going to be one hour, or was that just the premiere?
  12. Good to know about Rh incompatibility. You can tell it's been a long time since I was last pregnant (a 12-week miscarriage 12 years ago, so we never got to talking about Rh stuff). Jessa was ready for marriage. It's what those girls are trained for since birth. I think everyone here is far more concerned with Bin and his ability to provide. God ain't gonna just hand it to them!
  13. Actually, Erin has no problem BECOMING pregnant. Just STAYING pregnant (three times in less than a year). But other than that, point taken. We have no clue how fertile Benessa will be; who knows, they could be Rh incompatible and only able to have one.
  14. Amen and Amen! I think Bin truly believes hecan marry at 19 and father a child right away because his daddy did it in the '90's. However, as has been noted, practical concerns have certainly changed and not for the better. If Bin plans on going to/finishing college, is he really going to expect Boob to pay him a living wage to do odd jobs around Boob's properties in what little free time Bin will have? It sounds like it's going to be a lonely life for Jessa once the babies come; I see her reverting back to the TTH for moral support since she doesn't have a female "buddy" old enough to take out to lunch and "fellowship" with as an equal like Jill does. In the end, this life is really going to test Jessa and possibly strain the marriage. I'll be interested to see where they are in, say, five years.
  15. I'm expecting a proposal TONIGHT, actually. They started courting NYE 2013, so it makes sense. They're on GMA tomorrow morning; maybe they'll announce it then. :)
  16. I don't think that it's okay for them to have "help" getting pregnant, only staying pregnant: Kelly used progesterone treatments to maintain her last two or three pregnancies after a couple miscarriages. Then again, we've never heard from an infertile fundie couple so it's really hard to say. I would think having infertility treatments would be going against "what God gives" them, taking the role of God into their own hands. ie. it would be highly hypocritical to do this if they truly believed that axiom, which *I* think is meant to justify the mega-families, not the other way around.
  17. First miscarriage was in late February, IIRC. Chad didn't put up the blog post (with pics of Erin after the D&C) until a few weeks later.
  18. But wouldn't going to a fertility doctor be going against God's Plan? I don't think progesterone would help in Erin's case. Her miscarriages were probably all very early.
  19. I just want to know how Josh can claim that Evelyn is against same-sex marriage when his mother has been estranged from Evelyn for what appears to be several years? I guess he figured that would never get back to her; she would not be a likely candidate to be listening to the FRC's radio show.
  20. Not the full interview, but a few soundbytes until the Enquirer comes out. http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2014/12/evelyn-ruark-michelle-duggars-lesbian-sister-speaks-out-on-famou/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheHollywoodGossip+%28The+Hollywood+Gossip%29
  21. Kelly reveals that Erin has had THREE miscarriages. With a molar pregnancy, how is this even possible? Unless Chad and Erin totally ignored the doctor's orders and started trying again, and again... http://m.christianpost.com/news/bringing-up-bates-parents-share-reason-for-going-public-address-key-family-struggles-ahead-of-tv-premiere-video--131851/ Whatever transpired, I'm sad for her. Knowing this makes the baby shower scenes even more tragic.
  22. In all fairness, Josie was conceived on Father's Day...and Boob let the world know all about it out at the Redneck Water Slide.
  23. Razing Ruth NEVER would have done that (and she's the one who "knew" the Duggars).
  24. Where did you find it? Is it being shown On Demand? eta: Did they talk about Erin's "problems?" ie. confirm a molar pregnancy or whatever UP promised regarding her "fertility issues?"
  25. If Proverbs Mama is fake, it took a steel pair of balls to post on Lily and Ellie's Duggar Blog. http://www.duggarfamilyblog.com/2013/01/josh-duggar-we-have-some-fights.html She mentions the Vanderhoffs by name, and not in a very cheery light. (eta: Her second post hints at the pregnancy that Anna hid for 6 months. Very interesting...)
