Great topic! I am sure there are many more, but it has always bothered me that Bill "releases" Jessica in Season 3 when he finally gets out of Mississippi, but for whatever reason it doesn't take. It seems to me that the show made it pretty clear with Bill/Lorena and Eric/Pam that all the maker has to do is "say the words" and its a done deal. Even though Jessica protests after the fact and doesn't end up leaving, it doesn't change the fact that Bill said "As your maker I release you." If they wanted to maintain that bond (as they clearly use it in the remainder of the seasons) they should have stopped him mid-sentence or at least explained why it didn't work.
