  1. I think this is my problem with Felicity's characterization on The Flash. She has outgrown a lot of this behavior on Arrow but they keep writing her on The Flash like she first appeared in Arrow S1.
  2. So AK represents all those fans who only want to be Felicity to be funny and make inappropriate remarks. I might need to create a twitter account so I can tell him exactly what I think of his characterization of Felicity and its not much!
  3. One thing to keep in mind regarding 3.23 too. SA said whatever happens might be cause for Oliver to break out with a smile next season. I am not convinced the wedding & marriage is Oliver & Felicity. I am just trying to figure it out and running out of possible suspects. They all seem unfathomable to me at this point. I also know they like to chew through story and Oliver/Felicity would also give them story for 3.5 comics.
  4. Regarding the wedding we know 3 things. 1. Present Day 2. Involves 2 characters 3. A marriage follows the wedding I think Ra's and LOA is over by the end of S3 - at least for now. 3.23's title is "My Name is Oliver Queen" Doesn't this eliminate both the LOA, Nyssa & Ra's as potential mates for Oliver? Not to mention 3.21's synopsis would seem to eliminate Nyssa anyway. Who does that leave? Maseo & Tatsu (assuming they divorced when he joined the LOA) - Are they coming back for S4? Sara & Nyssa (assumes Sara is returning on Arrow) Thea & Roy (Possibly, but what is the catalyst for Thea donning a mask? Usually it's not anything happy.) Oliver & Laurel (They don't even appear to like each other this season) Oliver & Felicity (They are probably never going to have a traditional romance - dating, etc. Also, why is the sex, which is traditionally a sweeps staple, taking place before sweeps starts. Something bigger happening during sweeps? If it's only by losing Oliver Queen in 3.21 Al Sah-him and 3.22 once he embraces him again in 3.23 he might decide he's wasted enough time. (I think jet convo on 3.20 might be "pivotal') Who did I miss?
  5. What do you want Oliver and Laurel to talk about? Do you think that's who is getting married? Regarding the ILY scene in 2.23, the take away depends on your perception I think. They took it away to explain how Felicity got the cure. They gave it back in the beach scene when Oliver wouldn't take it back.
  6. MG did say awhile back on tumblr that he didn't think Felicity was the type of person to be with one guy while seeing another. I don't think they'll have Felicity sleep with Oliver if she hasn't broken up with Ray. Whether or not we see an official break-up might be up for grabs though. It might be all exposition. I wonder if the cut the Felicity and Laurel scene regarding how Felicity feels about Oliver or if it comes into play in 3.19.
  7. I think CL playing Sara is the only way they keep the possibility of Sara's backstory alive from Lian Yu to LOA. MG has said several times it's something they would like to tell.
  8. All I recall MG saying is that it is in present time, will involve two characters and there will be a marriage as well as a wedding. SA said at Vancouver Fan Expo that a wedding doesn't lead to the scenes in the 3.20 promo. The two things going for it would be the Chekov bouquet scenes (both w/Oliver & Felicity) and Chekov minister (Ray) who can marry anyone but himself. BTW, there is speculation on twitter and tumblr that Felicity could also be pregnant. This started after MG said there is a 3 week jump between 3.20 & 3.21. This could lead to a wedding I guess. I hope it doesn't happen because Felicity will probably be permanently sidelined then. She may work behind the computers but I don't imagine Oliver would ever take her out in the field again. (See SS where both Digg & Lyla realized they could orphan baby Sara.)
  9. I somehow missed this post when I posed my question. You answered before I asked. :)
  10. In 3.21, if Oliver undergoes a rigorous transformation and the LOA comes to SC for Nyssa, is there any chance that Oliver is part of this LOA group so he ends up going against Team Arrow? Is this the thing that changes John & Oliver's relationship?
  11. There is a Arrowwriters BTS picture that showed Willa & Paul Blackthorne with scripts in their hands. I think I saw it yesterday. They might be joining the read from Los Angeles?
  12. I saw some spec on Twitter that said they thought it was LL because KC recently started following ATOM & Flash fan accounts. I guess one thing in KC's favor is I keep reading she has a CW contract not an Arrow contract. I just can't make LL work with the "it's their job" part. Lyla, Diggle, Felicty & Lance make much more sense. The idea might not be that said character will draw in other viewers from the various shows. It might be that they want someone to tie them all together so the calling on other superheroes makes sense. So it seems to me it's either an overall administrative position (Lyla, Diggle, or Lance) or someone who has a higher skill than the others like Felicity's hacking. Both Ray (who is not in contention) and Cisco can build things using technology. Ray bought a company to force Felicity to work for him to retrieve the data from the Applied Sciences server so he could create his suit. She has made several upgrades to the Star Labs technology, etc. Caitlin is a doctor. I am pretty sure it's not Oliver, Roy, or Thea. I just can't see Malcolm in that role either. Have I missed anyone who originated on Arrow and is still on the show? I suppose we won't know until after the seasons end. CW upfronts anyone?
  13. I don't know. Maybe both somehow? Is Oliver actually controlling the suit in the fight? Is he somehow programming the suit to fight and isn't there when Felicity needs saving? Is there a disruption in the communication and Ray has to figure it out on his own? I hope so! This might be why Ray questions whether he is a hero or not. He can't save Felicity but Oliver can by remote control of the suit.
  14. Well if it's someone like Lyla she might just be recurring on all shows and gets paid when in an episode. If it is a regular, like Felicity, maybe she isn't physically present as such but she films an extra scene or two like they are skyping and may get extra for those scenes. Perhaps she shows up in the occasional crossover like Oliver might. Then they are guest stars. I guess depending on where QLance ends up at the end of the season regarding vigilantes he could be the floater. If the spinoff doesn't take place in another city he could be the police contact depending on the type of villain (normal, magical, metahuman, superpowered, etc). I don't think the timelines would matter as much in either of those cases. This is the episode he is supposed to decide if he's a hero or if he's just feeling heroic because he has a suit.
  15. Sounds like someone asking about Felicity on Arrow and getting an answer about Laurel instead. AK is really proud of that line. He's mentioned it several times. I personally find it insulting to Felicity, Barry & Oliver but Ray Palmer is the perfect man (sarcasm).
  16. I think the reason they are so excited about the spin-off is because it will be heroes & villains teaming up weekly. You know people with masks so to speak. In their minds this makes it epic. For the most part, Arrow and Flash have featured A superhero and his support team.
  17. Taking AK's hyperbole with a grain of salt. He was equally enthused about Brandon Routh a/k/a Superman becoming Ray Palmer/ATOM at SDCC2014. For me, he's been a snooze fest.
  18. I could see Laurel tagging along with Nyssa to Nanda Parbat. She has never been very good at doing what is asked of her - or in Oliver's case - telling her. She wants to be with the cool kids. LOL! That said, they could all return to SC and then return to Nanda Parbat with a plan. Oliver is in Central City in F1.22 or F1.23. I always imagined travel to Nanda Parbat would be difficult because I tend to think of it as being remote. Evidently all you need is a private jet.
  19. I don't think he is. It's the execution/writing that he has no control over that I wonder about. I refuse to get too excited over Tatsu and Felicity et al sharing scenes. Maseo & Felicity sharing scenes in 3.17 & 3.18 amounted to Maseo shooting an arrow at Felicity from a distance. :)
  20. It could be Diggle or Lyla and the arguments for it make sense. However, as said by others previously, Felicity has computer skills that no one else has. She solved a problem for Ray in 2 minutes that he had been working on for 2 weeks. Cisco recently couldn't trace someone because they had "Felicity-like" skills. Has anyone else noticed that because she has been on Palmer Island, Team Arrow has often been operating without her? Sometimes they call her. Often she's not answering. Her lair scenes this year have been about personal things more so than Team Arrow work. Diggle has been the main support on comms etc. I know there haven't been that many monster of the week episodes but it does seem like perhaps they have been trying to downplay her role on the team.
  21. HIVE could be big in S4 and Diggle still only get an episode or two of focus. Diggle was the way into ARGUS. The Suicide Squad episode (2.16) morphed into Oliver's relationship with Amanda Waller/ARGUS.
  22. The only thing I feel sure about is that by the finale Oliver will decide he not only wants to be both Oliver Queen and the Arrow but that he can be. How they get from here to there is beyond me but it is what I expect. What happens with the other characters I have no clue. As for the CW, most of their funds comes from after-market IIRC. (Quarks has mentioned it several times and I may be using the wrong terminology.) They are not as dependent on ratings to generate revenue for them. That said, I am aware that MG is not the power behind the show. However, when AK starts talking about both shows being used in S4/S2 to set up the spin-off I have to wonder if the almost disconnected Palmer section of Arrow is going to continue for a while. The jarring difference in tone is one of the things I have hated the most about this season. As for masks, until someone without a preordained destiny gets a real storyline as opposed to a one and done it is easy to think only the masks matter.
  23. This might belong in the spin-off thread but my only concern is how it relates to Arrow. AK was quoted at Wondercon as saying S4 of Arrow and S2 of The Flash will both work to set up the spin-off. Some have all been assuming that Palmer leaves and somehow Oliver gets his company back. I thought that might be where they were headed too. What if they are not? Assuming the spin-off is a mid-season replacement Palmer Island could exist within Arrow like it does now. Felicity could still run between scenes in each "show". Oliver could pop in but so could Sara, Laurel and all the other characters they plan on introducing. SC has a population of 500,000+. The city could certainly be home to more than one group of vigilantes. Oops I mean heroes. This could also leave an opening for the Black Canary show when Palmer Island moves to its new show. You could have a Green Arrow (Diggle, Roy, Thea) story. A Black Canary story might feature Nyssa or some new character. You could also have GA/BC team ups. It would also allow Quentin to interact with both daughters assuming he survives this season. I do think they will set up Oliver in some sort of business. My only experience with comics recently is the New52 (after Felicity was added). He had a company but he was never shown there. He just called the girlfriend who was running it whenever he needed something. Green Lantern, Batman & Lex Luthor all dropped in for cameos. I wonder if instead of a TV show based on DC comic characters we are going to get a Live!Action! comic book. The emphasis does seems to be on costumed heroes. I think the stories would be a little more continuous than the comics though. Otherwise I think they will lose viewers. (In 2.5 there is a kidnapping story that started in an issue and then was not touched upon again for a couple of issues. It picked back up about the same time F decided to go for it with R onscreen). They could do the same on Flash except with Stein Island or Cold Island.
  24. I will be shocked (pleasantly but none the less shocked) if Felicity's role isn't that of the floater. They established her as the main bridge to Flash with Barry, Caitlin & Cisco. They have even name-dropped her a couple of times. She is getting a nemesis on Flash. It's possible there is more than one reason (LI) they sent her to Palmer Island for most of S3. If her father is introduced next year I won't be surprised if he shows up on the spin-off. We got our first real hints in a RP centric story. If he is sciency, tekkie, it seems like that would be the best fit between Palmer & Stein. They made her supportive of Laurel. She encouraged her when she was giving up. Potential Birds of Prey set-up for down the road? The only hero-in-waiting they haven't had her interacting with is Thea. Thea as Speedy will be more GA sidekick than hero on her own. They could establish Felicity and Oliver as a couple during the finale and then push the relationship to the background. He just mentions her or something when she's not around. My guess would be that S4 would be about establishing the comic book fighting team of Green Arrow & Black Canary. If they land that relationship successfully then they might take it further. Meanwhile Felicity has options in other cities if her relationship with Oliver falls through but she can still provide tech support for Arrow and Co. No one on any of the shows has Felicity's technical & hacking abilities. Also, assuming that the spin-off shoots in the same area, she could be in more than one show a week. Her screen time would just be very limited. They could even turn her back into the one-dimensional awkward character that some people miss.
  25. Missed that. I would think they would still have to operate from somewhere other than the Foundry just because SCPD knows where they were operating from.
