In attempts to stabilize Reed's powers, Reed, Caitlin and Lauren meet with Dr. Risman, a doctor who treats patients with debilitating X genes. However, Lauren finds out Dr. Risman is not who she thought she was. Following the Inner Circle's bank ambush, Thunderbird and Blink continue to work together to chase them down. Meanwhile, Polaris reflects on her troubled relationship with her father and takes steps to protect Dawn from the Inner Circle.

While I do NOT agree with Lorna making all of the parental decisions with Dawn, she made the right choice because Marcos and his whole "love will save everything" BS he's been spewing this season is a whooole ass choice....And that's all I have to say about that. (She did kind of listen to his input, though, by not sending their daughter to Switzerland, but instead to live with her aunt)

I did like that the situation brought her full circle to understand the sacrifice her father made for her. Now she has an even bigger motivation for seeing her stint with the Inner Circle through, if they succeed then she gets to reunite with her daughter. Although, you know, facetime is a thing now, Lorna. Call your daughter.

I do feel bad for Marcos though, even if he often toes the line of being too idealistic.

And speaking of idealistic! Clarice is right, John is operating like a man with a death wish. How does he expect to go against the inner circle all by his lonesome when they have a whole ass army equipped with people who could take him out with a wave of their hand? He's also being dumb.

also being dumb? Lauren passively letting her blood be taken, knowing that the research from it is (once again) going to be used as a weapon against mutants. You know that the purifiers are going to use Madeline's suppression drug with carte blanche.

In a world where "he" is famous and everybody, down to random guy willing to mix with a mutant at a bar suspects that "he" is Lorna's father you would think that beyond a basket of Easter eggs that "he' could have a name.  That was more frustrating then Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. where they would at least name drop Thor or Captain America. 

I wonder if the head piece will shield Lorna from the sisters powers?

I was wondering the same thing....  As posted upthread I font like Lorna calling all the shots.. And I'm not sure why Marcos is just letting it all happen... Unless hes good with it.. And if he is.. Ima need him to stop man-paining all over the place... Lol at Lorna asking him if he was gonna laser the world... One thing that did upset me was that Lorna didn't at least explain that all the other inner circle ppl were gonna go and leave the humans in peace and it was the little monster who's turned everything into a nightmare... I still don't understand why they aren't working together or at least talking to each other... At least there was no Jace... Good job show you've actually got me happy that the only black male regular wasn't even around...

This show has horrible ratings and will be cancelled and boy, has it worked hard to deserve its fate. Just one ridiculous plot point after another.

In the real world, Lorna would have just scooped up Marcos and left town with their baby, but instead we are subjected to their drama and her backstory.

I understand how desperate Reid was to get help, but to let someone take his and Lauren's blood was just bad judgement. Their family is full of such powerful mutants, their blood could be used to harm all mutants. And why would they think that they would be safe there? 

John has clearly lost his damn mind. He is on a lone wolf mission that will get him and Clarice killed. She needs to take that dog and get away from him before it is too late.

At least, no annoying Jace.

I’m so sick of the flashbacks. What aunt do you suppose they are showing? Is she a mutant? I bet that metal disc is important.

Who (mutant or human) would send a baby to the Swiss Alps?

I definitely don’t think this woman is trustworthy. Why would she even have their family heirloom? 

Why would Lorna come to Marco and tell him about the baby in the first place?

That’s actually a start and sane place for the baby...

I think aunty was related to the foster parents. What I don't get is how is that supposed to be a hidden safe house when it seemed as if everyone in the community suspected the Lorna was the biological daughter of "him". You would think that Sentinel Services had a file a mile long on her and had the woman who raised  a murderous terrorist, in their eyes, known associates staked out.

It sounds like the aunt was the sister of Lorna's step dad, who Lorna's dad got in touch with at some point. I do hate that Lorna just gets to make all the choices for Dawn, and just tells Marcos whats going to happen, giving Dawn to her aunt was a good idea. She got Dawn away, but compromised by giving her to relatives. Really, she should just ask Marcos to leave with her, and they should all run off together, but I dont always get what I want. That headdress did admittedly look pretty cool. 

Yeah, giving people the blood of their super powered family isnt the best idea, but I guess when Reed was about to implode, they were desperate. So now we get the mutant cure stuff that happens in every dang X-Men thing, and we can debate over whether its a good or bad thing, etc. I guess it kind of depends how it gets used. If it gets into the hands of the Purifiers and is used as a weapon, or if they use it on whole families like the guy said, or use it against peoples will, then its clearly bad. And, well, the dutch angle told me it was a bad thing, so here we are. 

Marcos can be a idiot sometimes, but I do feel bad for him, and I feel his desperation to keep things together, and to reunite with his family. Although, as usual, what exactly is his goal here? What is the goal of the Mutant Underground, in the long term? Just moving people around? Fighting whatever bunch of assholes goes after them next? At least the other team has an actual goal. 

Thinking about teenage Lorna bringing cupcakes her aunt made for her birthday to school, and no one eating them, is just so sad to me for some reason.

A mutant kills almost forty people, and violence breaks out immediately afterward. That does track. Good looking out, Inside Out Girl!!

This more or less happened:

Lauren's New Friend: Well, we've bonded through Frisbee, and I have a goofy t-shirt, so we're friends!!

Lauren: Yeah!

LNF: Okay, I'm gonna take some of your blood and talk about how my boss's research would be used to surpress the X-gene . . . just like what happened to your dad, only better!

Lauren: Saywhanow?!?

LNF: Yeah, this wouldn't just be for mutants whose powers are a liability. No, we're talking across the board stuff. If you're a parent and your kid shows up as mutant in utero? We can stop that shit! Awesome, right? Say, do you hear ominous music as I draw your blood?

Lauren: (shrugs) I'm just wondering how Andy will feel the needle. We're not twins, right?

[Are they twins? I thought Lauren was older, but I'm probably not paying attention.]

Is Clarice's hair getting weirder, or am I imagining it?

"He" is the guy from the movies with the same powers that Lorna has shown so far. Is suspected of being her biological father by random dudes in a bar in her hometown. he wore a red helmet with a similar shaped insignia in the movies to shield him from the powers of the telepathic mutants, Not wanting to confirm his parentage by opening making a visit "he" snuck into town to leave Lorna a piece of his costume/uniform.

At this point, I don’t care who “wins” anymore, I just want to see more use of powers.  Really liked seeing Lorna’s magnetic powers on display, especially with the car.

Rebecca is beyond irritating.  John is tiresome.  Clarice is super irritating and whiny.  

Thankfully this episode there was little Andy and Caitlin was actually acting like a normal person who isn’t constantly hysterically screeching.   And best of all, no Jace!

So this doctor (“Dr. M”) is working on a “cure” that will take away mutant powers.  I guess that’s the tv show version of the comic book

I’m a geek, so I know who “he” is. I just figured that it would be odd for an absentee father to leave her kid with a red metal disc, knowing it would wind up green headgear. Like, I would have expected it to hold a message only Lorna could pull out. 🤷‍♂️

Was anyone else weirded out by how many scenes were shot  at low angle to accentuate Lauren's boobs? Like when she and that one guy were walking or when they were throwing the frisbee it was so in-your-face.

Was it just me or did the doctor/scientist confirm that Reid's father was the result of incest between the Strucker Twins? I know it was implied before in the show (haven't read the comics) but I didn't think it was ever confirmed that he was the son of both and not just one of them?

Initially, I thought maybe she was the female half of the Strucker Twins but figured that didn't track age-wise (although the actress did look remarkably old which actually took me aback at her first appearance, compared to other stuff I've seen her in the past few years) and then wondered if maybe she was actually Reid's aunt who'd never been mentioned or was hidden away to prevent his father (and the woman) from being a reincarnation of the Strucker Twins. But then the Purifier brother was mentioned and I figured I was way off...

Still puzzles me as to why she'd have that music box. And wonder if there's anything special about it for a Strucker (or Strucker siblings)?

Not a clue! And I think that's the biggest problem with this show. I don't like the Morlocks (?) or even the Inner Circle all that much, but at least the Inner Circle is working towards something, training and going on missions and using their powers. All the MU seems to be doing is running after the Inner Circle and moving mutants around, although they don't seem all that active or successful at the latter.  The only powers they ever use are John's which aren't that (visually) impressive and occasionally Blink, but they seem to intent on as little as possible CGI which is just silly with a show about super powers.

The MU should just talk to the Inner Circle and start collaborating: the ones that want to work on creating a place in the world for mutants would be actively recruited and trained etc, while the other mutants they come into contact wtih could be moved/hidden away by the MU with the financial resources of the Inner Circle. We know Reeva doesn't really want to hurt humans (look at her reaction to what Twist did) so what's stopping them from joining forces?
