Dandesun June 3, 2014 Share June 3, 2014 A place to discuss WHERE we loved in Llanview just as much as the WHO. Dorian's penthouses were always awesome for me. The ultimate in style. As much as I loved Todd's penthouse, it lost a lot of the luster when he re-decorated it in all that over-stuffed crap that Tea liked. Llanfair's cadre of secret passages and rooms delighted me when I first started paying attention. I had particular fondness for the one behind the fireplace that nutty nurse Tracy who was obsessed with Larry lived behind for what seemed like a year. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/8255-places-in-llanview-boardrooms-newsrooms-secret-rooms/
hcs June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 I loved Nat's cottage that she bought with Cris that somehow disappeared and then she was forced into one of the several Laura Ashley bedrooms that existed at Llanfair.. I liked the secret room that Jess built better than any of those rooms. .. I was always sad that we never got a Blair house decorated in her style but then we never got a story from her POV either. TeeVee329 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 (edited) I always found the teeny tiny pool in the backyard of La Boulaie hilarious in its wee-ness. eXiled August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 I really liked Viki's sun room for some reason. When I think about it, I always remember Niki Smith rocking out on the sofa during one of her "outbreaks." I remember the room being a thing from early 2000s to maybe 2005 and then disappearing. I did take a little time off from the show so it may have had a longer run than I remember. I loved the Buchanan mansion. During the last year it hurt watching the likes of Rex and Cutter trashing up the place. I detested VicTodd's house. What was with the wood? The decor felt wrong. I naively believed that the return of Roger Howarth meant the return of Todd's true home - the penthouse. I'd never have to see another weird cow rug again. Alas... During Dead Baby Lie Blair's La Boulaie bedroom got a lot of play. It seemed light and airy. Very bright. The bedroom she had during the Talker reveal was much smaller and darker. How come Blair never got to buy her own home? Between Todd and Max and her own businesses she had some money. I get that she was all about family, but I longed to see her set up her own homestead with Starr, Jack, and later on, Sam. Even Kelly had her own place for awhile. I didn't like seeing Blair go from Todd's penthouse, to the Palace, to Dorian's all the time. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/8255-places-in-llanview-boardrooms-newsrooms-secret-rooms/#findComment-283244

Rex in particularly swanning it up as (douche)lord of the Buchanan mansion really, to quote Peter Griffin, grinded my gears. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/8255-places-in-llanview-boardrooms-newsrooms-secret-rooms/#findComment-283362
jsbt August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 (edited) I loved most of the sets on the new show, I thought they were just gorgeous. I thought the new La Boulaie was so Tim Burton kooky (in a much more appealing way than most of his recent films) that I could forgive the loss of the grand foyer, which honestly is something David would've done to accommodate his renovation. "Coffee Shop" I really couldn't abide, but I understood why it happened since they were flipping so many of the sets. I would've sooner seen Carlotta's Angel Square diner return, though. And I missed the Buchanan mansion, absolutely. I thought Victor's new Sun offices late in the 2000s were weird as hell - just weird paper/wooden walls and columns. I do think it was a mistake to get rid of the penthouse. I loved the sun room at Llanfair. I'm not sure when the last time we saw it was. I also absolutely adored Viki's big kitchen where she would hang out and talk with Todd or Tina or Natalie or whoever. I hated that we didn't get to see it again on the new show, though I'm sure we would have someday had it gone on. I admired the attempt to show Viki and Clint's work spaces at the Banner and Buchanan Enterprises on the new show, but it was very, very obviously just a redress of some bedrooms and they looked like home offices, right down to the corridors - nothing at all like office space. I just pretended it was their work nooks at Llanfair and the mansion. Amazingly, they actually showed Viki's office at the Banner on the network show for the first time in years near the end, with glass walls and a clear urban backdrop out the window. I also missed the bullpen, a lot. Edited August 12, 2014 by jsbt Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/8255-places-in-llanview-boardrooms-newsrooms-secret-rooms/#findComment-284586

My absolute favorite scene from the last year on ABC took place in Llanfair's kitchen. Todd/Viki/Tina - bickering, sniping, being LORDLY and just all kinds of awesome. Y'all, the only thing missing was Trevor St. John's Victor. Yeah, I said it! I was amazed by how wonderfully Howarth and Evans worked together, though looking back, I'm not sure why it surprised me. Their chemistry was enormous. Gah! Off to watch clips now and think about what should have been. I've never missed a show like this before. It still hurts. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/8255-places-in-llanview-boardrooms-newsrooms-secret-rooms/#findComment-284646
MSquared August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 That was just about my favorite scene from the whole time RH was back at OLTL. Starting with the wonderful Todd/Viki scene (and all the adlibs that I am sure were thrown in there). to Tina making her presence known to her big sister and little brother and their snarking back and forth (favorite line which I say whenever I see anything in the fabric "Leopard skin is the fabric of desperation!") and the Todd pouring his heart out to Viki in the end. Absolute perfection! Watching Howarth and Evans, I almost forgot they never acted together before 2011. They played off each other so well And I agree, I wanted TSJ with them as well. I wanted one little scene with all four of my Lord siblings. The brothers going at it, Viki trying to break them up and Tina making it worse. Le sigh. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/8255-places-in-llanview-boardrooms-newsrooms-secret-rooms/#findComment-284849
