This was a good foundational episode for understanding exactly what the practice (con) of the "religion" is all about. I was thinking it should have aired last season, but I do recall last season that Leah was very reluctant to talk about Xenu. I wonder if that was because she still had conditioning about not talking about Xenu, which she has obviously gotten over. This is a clearly a healing/deprogramming process for her as well.

Leah went into it saying she was only going to do one season.  With that in mind, she didn't want to get sucked up into long conversations about imaginary beings.  She had stories to tell and she wanted to concentrate on that.  With a second season she has more latitude to do other things.  I'm certain a lot of her feedback has been from people who really want to know more about what scientologists are taught, especially the xenu story.

I really enjoyed hearing from all of them.  I'm reading through the Up-the-Bridge on Tonyortega.com, which gives an overview of each level, and it's enlightening.  But, I'm really enjoying hearing about it and seeing others who have been through it tell their experiences.  Rindah didn't tell us what he thought when he learned about xenu, but I guess it was similar to everyone else's WTF story.

Just an observation, but I find CO$'s symbol, an x-ed out cross rather interesting. It appears to be saying that they are NOT Christian in the least. Is there an explanation for it?

Yes. I read that Elron appropriated it from Aleister Crowley, who had used it as an anti-Christian black magic symbol - the smaller cross literally x-ing out Christianity.

I read that way back in my Operation Clambake fan days.  Since then, I have seen $cienos claiming that the rays pointing diagonally show the desire of the cult to bring the good news to all the compass points.

It probably also is helpful for selling the cult to people who want to keep a foot in a Christian church. Remember: way back when, Cruise said it was possible to be a Catholic and a Scientologist, but then he firmly stated that he and Katie Holmes were "just Scientologists."

I've read that Thelema, (Crowley's thing) was an influence on Scientology through Jack Parsons.  Parsons  called LRH the "most Thelemic individual" he ever met.  Crowley thought LRH was a fraud.  Then LRH ran off with Parson's wife and Parsons threw some pretty heavy magic at them both.

The CO$ cross reminds me of the eight pointed chaos star.  Personally I would love to see what some chaos magicians could throw at the CO$.
