I know a while back in an interview (I think it was with AV Club around the time he was promoting 'Son of Zorn'), Sudsy expressed interest in doing the show again, but also said it would depend on whether Will and the writers had any more use for the character in the story; I also recall Will saying something about being so pleased with how Mike's s.2 arc ended, he probably wouldn't consider bringing him back unless he and the writers could come up with a really good idea for how to do so. :\

Still, with satellites / space junk starting to sink into the atmosphere and crash to Earth (in the show's world), it wouldn't surprise me if we at least get a shot of Mike still alive in Tucson, watching the stuff fall... :) (I suspect that's how we might see Pamela again, too, though lord only knows where she's at now...)

I have an idea floating in my head about the show's endgame (it won't happen, probably, but I can dream-)

The gang, and any new friends they might have picked up, stumble upon a vast community of people elsewhere in the USA. They stare at them in bewilderment before asking how long this vast community, which is almost back to pre-virus levels of lifestyle, has been there. They're told it's been there for years, and somehow Tandy and crew have missed them all this time.

Kicking themselves mightily, Tandy, Carol and friends start exploring the new community. Tandy turns a corner and sees a familiar face-

"Mike? Holy farts. I thought you were dead."

"Phil? I thought you were dead! Oh my god!"

They run towards each other and Tandy, overcome with joy and emotion, immediately punches Mike in the nuts.

Hehe! Love it. :D

You gotta have a Kinks song on the soundtrack, too -- I've been hoping the show would use "This Is Where I Belong" or "Better Things" for a finale...

I worry that will get a bottle episode where Mike returns to the beach house to only find Kristen Wiig's character. They'll have no idea if Tandy & Co are still alive (all the evidence of fighting) or where they went so they'll go do their own thing. Maybe we'll get some sad montage that shows how close the brothers get to actually meeting. For a comedy, this show can really hit you in the feels.

We are the village green preservation society.

With Phil and Mike running at each other in slow motion all emotionally.

Then Tandy nut punches him again.  Or Mike does.

Whichevers funnier.

But I actually think Mike is dead.  So I vote NO.

As much as I'd like him back his ending had a lot of meaning. I wouldn't want to see any of that taken.

I voted yes.  I think Mike will be the one person to get and survive the virus, which is the surest way to continue the existence of humankind.  A recovered survivor means that a vaccine is possible.

Now, if there's a season four, they would have to luck into meeting an infectious disease specialist.  Or at least a genius bio-scientist.  Dark as this show can get at the end of the day it is still a sitcom.
