No SNL list of popular characters can be complete without the legendary and all-too-soon taken Gilda Radner's Roseanne Rosanadana who's Weekend Update sayings were always quoted by my grade school class every Monday morning so I'd have no doubt she'd have been  a hot 'Net star!

Not to mention Gilda's Emily Litella character, the sweet hard-of-hearing lady who always got worked up while delivering commentaries about pop culture topics, but always got them a bit wrong:

The Deaf Penalty

Violins on television

Saving endangered feces

Youth in Asia

The Presidential Erection

Then, when she's corrected by the anchor (Chevy or Jane):

Jon-Erik Hexum accidentally killing himself on the set of “Cover-Up”.

I'm in season 5 of a rewatching of Hill Street Blues. In 1983 a year before the accident, a character LT Howard Hunter attempts to commit suicide. But Detective LaRue had switched out the live shells for blanks on him and he shows up the next day with a bandage on his head. I remember it being water cooler talk with this and Brandon Lee almost 10 years later.
