We all know political talk on the net is a loaded shitbomb so we won't be giving out many second chances for anyone who can't speak their mind without attacking other posters/making it personal. Think twice, post once. On the flip side, if you're about to report a post, know the difference between the personal and the political.

FYI, the moderators do reserve the right to edit any topic titles in this forum; the forum is here for respectful and civil discussion of Current Events & Politics, and if topic titles become too flame-y and/or aggressive, it defeats the effort at said civil conversation.

Posting repeatedly to ask someone why they think one way or the other is not respectful behavior; remember the site rule; Be Civil. Railing on posters/people who voted in a way you do not agree with is exactly the same as attacking them. Stop. We know a lot of you are upset and others are thrilled. We all have to live in this world together and while being on this site is optional if you all want to continue to be here you need to figure out a way to get along. The world is not ending.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and everyone must respect everyone else's opinions and not call anyone out.

In general, please stop trying to "win" an argument here, no one is right or wrong. nobody has to prove WHY they think/feel the way they do.

This is not a courtroom no one needs 'proof' to feel how they feel.

Remember you are welcome to ignore posters you find annoying!

If you think something doesn't belong in this thread please report it! Don't engage!

Report things you find disrespectful or off topic. Don't just quote it and point it out in thread.

We've been giving warnings/Non Warning Notices up until this point, but from here on out second chances will be harder to come by.

Please refrain from generalizing entire groups of people, whether it's a political party, a region, a gender, etc. We're not all the same. Doing so may get you a time out from the site.

A reminder for everyone - this forum is not about everyone agreeing. If you disagree with someone, you can respond in a civil way, or choose to not respond, OR to put the poster on your ignore list. You can ignore someone by hovering over their name, and choosing the 'Ignore User' option, which will walk you through the steps.

Demanding proof for opinions is not being civil, calling others out for their beliefs is not civil, telling someone what they believe is wrong is not civil. This is not the place where people have to prove anything. Saying the sky is green is fine - it is allowed. Be civil or be gone.
