I want to know how the hell they got Michael Shannon on here because, like everyone else, I thought "WTF?"

After watching this episode, as good as Rachel Bloom was, I got to give mad props to anyone who can lip sync End of the World like that.

i figured Rachel would have the major advantage since this is basically what she does for a living, but the fact that Michael knew EVERY word was damn impressive!  It's so much fun to see people who we thpically think of as super seizes or reserved just let go and be fun. Still adore Rachel Bloom!

Major props to Rachel Bloom for wearing the acne and going against her usual "I don't know how mind-numbingly pretty I am" (maybe she doesn't know, but she's a good actress, so it's hard to be sure.)

Micheal Shannon won; I suspect it was that when you have two great performances, the audience went with degree of difficulty for End of the World.

In general, this show might be the best thing that ever happened to Spike TV, because you've got really talented people trying hard and having fun at the same time. That's a compelling formula.

I thought Rachel had it locked going in, but I was very impressed with Michael's performance!  His first song was good, but short, and degree of difficulty on REM was through he roof. Also shout out for LL's dumbfounded faces. He cracks me up.

My verdict: while Rachel Bloom was good, Michael Shannon was better. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who can lip-sync to The Pixies and R.E.M. in the same episode and kill it both times deserves to win.
