I see Nicole Beharie and wonder how Alexander makes the top 100 of attractive women.

I don't think Alexander is all that great to look at.  She's young and healthy, and that's hard to screw up.  But she isn't all that amazing.  She's skinny and gaunt, and not really to my taste.  And exactly the same goes for Beharie.  Her figure is good, but her face... well, the first remark that comes to mind is one that I hesitate to make in this forum!

Point being that everyone has different taste, so those Top 100 lists are bound to include some outliers.

It's a bit silly to argue attractiveness, because it's subjective. Stating someone is shouldn't be such an affront to people's sensibilities.

I will debate a less subjective statement. Alexander If the public sources are correct weights around 130 lbs. While she is on the tall side, that's still hardly what most would qualify as "gaunt"--a term that implies an extreme lack of muscle tone as well as looking emaciated. And it's a loaded term anyway, bordering on skinny shaming (all the worse because she's not even underweight if you plug her stats into a BMI calculator). I mean it might be different if we were talking about one of the scary thin 90 pounders out there in Hollywood. But Alexander is 30 to 35 pounds heavier than these people, and while taller than some, that's all in her legs (not the heaviest part of the body).

Being a foreigner, I would have imagined that the FIRST question anyone would ask would be "Who the hell holds up a post office?" Not "Who shoots up a post office?" (which I understand is a regular thing) but takes a bunch of hostages and demands to talk to the CEO, which takes a degree of preplanning, which should make people go WTF!? But that would require people to actually ask sensible questions like "Who could possibly have had foreknowledge of these crimes and decided to let us know by tattooing them on a naked woman in Times Square?" Or "How come a shootout in broad daylight doesn't attract a whole bunch of local cops?" But apparently, show logic does not resemble our Earth logic, so nobody thinks that or, as Sakura12 points out, thinks to look up whether there is a pattern to child adoptions that might be behind the Grand Conspiracy that is inevitably behind everything.

torqy  I suppose it was inevitable, but "there's a mole in CTU!!"

Well they work for the government: I've always assumed moles were simply a recognised minority, and as such each office has to employ one. It makes about as much sense as anything else.

thuganomics85  Dr. Dre's Beats headphone are actually part of a plan to destroy America!  MC Ren has been spotted!  Ice Cube is threatening to make another "Are We There Yet?" movie!  Eazy E is back from the dead!

So not just terrorists - SADISTIC terrorists!

Anyone come up with any decent anagrams for "Split the Law"? The best I could do was "Lt Wish Plate" (which I guess would be a retired leprechaun who decided to join the military's dinner service) but I can't seem to see any relevance to the episode. Anyone got anything better?

The title anagrams are being discussed in the Spoiler thread. The anagram for this one is "The Past Will".

I might be done with this show after five episodes.  I found it on Hulu last week and thought it was a fun premise but it's already off the rails.  My number one gripe is the presence of the ubiquitous angry black woman cop boss.  I feel like most network cop shows made in the past 12 years have had this character.  It feels like a shortcut to check off two quota boxes:  women in power, minorities in power.  Just tired and overused.

I'm in the middle of Episode 5 and the more I watch, I tend to be more disappointed. It feels like this show has one major long-term plot (who is Jane and how and why did she get all the tattos) and each episode contains one specific problem that needs to be solved (like the problem of the Ebola-like plague that those two whackos from the CDC intended to spread at the airport). All in all, it is a formula that should appeal to that segment of the population that is mentioned in the following saying: "Never underestimate the taste of the American public". So, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would have to rate this show around 6.5.

But the reason I'm making this post is because I'd like to make a prediction about the long-term plot. I haven't read ahead in this thread or read any of the posts concerning Season Two. I don't know how much will have been revealed by this date. But if it has not yet been revealed how Jane came to have her body covered in tatoos, my guess would be that she did this to herself in order to solve some earth-shattering problem that could possibly wipe out much of the life on our planet. I'm guessing it will be revealed that for some stupid reason, the only way she figured that she could save us all from this huge destruction would be to put these puzzle pieces into a massive tatoo that covered her body and then wipe out her memory so that she wouldn't know any of her history. Presumably because if she did know her history, she realizes that she would then approach the problem in a way that would be certain to fail and trigger the disaster.

I know it sounds awfully stupid. But if I'm correct about the nature of the population that likes this show and wants to watch it, then I suppose anything is possible - even a very silly explanation such as, "she did this to herself for some reason".
