thewhiteowl September 12, 2015 Share September 12, 2015 Henry's attempt at justice backfires, resulting in new problems for him and a new investigation for Walt. Link to comment
karasmom September 14, 2015 Share September 14, 2015 Is it just me or is Gab pretty much useless? She killed someone and thinks she can go home with no consequences? She can't help Henry who is trying desperately to help her -- he has to take out his own bullet. She can barely hold the mirror. And he walks all over the place with a bullet hole in his leg and she never once helps him. He has to swim across the river with a heavy burden (Gab who, of course, can't swim or even try) on his back. I know they are trying to make her a victim -- but come on. Victim is one thing -- helpless idiot is another. 4 Link to comment
Clanstarling September 18, 2015 Share September 18, 2015 True, she isn't of much use in this episode. But I see her as basically shell-shocked and deeply depressed. Which is crippling in very many ways, including basic competence most people would expect. That she had enough drive to shoot her attacker is kind of amazing. 4 Link to comment

I find the actress that plays Gab to be extremely compelling and watchable....which is amazing since she is supposed to be portraying an almost catatonic and traumatized woman. They are ratcheting up the tension for the season finale....I sure hope they provide us viewers with a certain amount of closure and not have too much of a cliff-hanger type ending. Pallida September 27, 2015 Share September 27, 2015 Honestly, I felt like Gab was being presented as a lost soul even before her rape. Her mother was quite dismissive of her, including referencing how she can't get a job. I don't think she's ever felt useful so she doesn't know how to be in charge or stand up. Perhaps this was also a statement on women on the rez and their general survival. Keep your head down, don't talk, don't make waves. Throughout the season we've been exposed to the various forms of abuse they suffer. It's not just about victim hood, rather, it's also the systems of oppression that facilitate the violence. 5 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo November 22, 2015 Share November 22, 2015 (edited) I am confused about Sam Poteet. In the previous episode, Walt said that Sam was Gab's father. When he went to the casino to question him, Sam said that everyone in the community is considered an aunt or uncle to the kids. Walt then asked if Gab was his niece and Sam replied, "She's my daughter." Then in this episode, Sam said that Linda is his sister. So is Gab an incest baby or was he being sarcastic when he said she was his daughter or what? Poor Henry. He was shot, he had to remove the bullet himself, his car broke down, he walked a million miles, swam across a river with Gab on his back, was shot at again, and then knocked out by the medicine lady. He is not having a good day. I love that Vic noticed Walt's new shirt and figured out what was going on. I'm still not used to Matthias and Walt working together so amicably. I like it but I keep expecting them to start sniping ar each other. Ha, loved when Ferg got all excited about tracking the trail. He is good at his job but never got to shine very often with Branch and Vic around. Monty is crazy. Edited November 22, 2015 by ElectricBoogaloo Link to comment

However, Sam said that he didn't have a daughter because he said that he thought that they were talking "white." In the Cheyenne kinship structures, aunts and uncles are considered the parents to each other's children so although he is biological Gab's uncle, he is considered her father. Link to comment
