Spoilers and Spoiler Discussion: Heroes Reborn

While NBC hasn't seen fit to release much more than a few stills, I did find this report from the NBC Upfront covering the teaser that was shown there.

Main points:

  • Zachary Levi is apparently a bad guy
  • Claire's dead (I assume a howitzer shell to the noggin)

Do we know yet if IMDB is accurate for episode counts? I think it only shows Molly as being around for a couple of episodes which has me worried they'll kill her off. I liked child Molly so I will be sad if that's the case.

However it does seem like Molly is likely working with Renautus- they mention the Walker System, the Renautus lady gives that speech saying they can find any Evo anywhere (Molly's ability), and the promo poster for Molly is captioned "sacrifice who you must" which has me thinking she's working for them sacrificing other Evos to maybe protect someone else. I could see her being involved in whatever is going on with the Malina character since it seems Renautus wants her and her story is one they've been quiet about so far.

I wonder how they are going to explain off being able to kill Claire.  I thought it was pretty impossible to do unless you chopped off her head or something.  I saw a promo with HRG in the morgue standing over a clothed drapped blonde haired body.  The head didn't seem missing.  So, I wonder if she is really dead or if he is faking it to protect her.  Or maybe they have her in a lab somewhere.

Her only weakness, the actress declining to return?

I wondered that too, Destiny007. I think the original series made it seem that if her spinal cord was intact, she could heal (that branch that punctured it in season 1, but even then once it was pulled out she healed). I'm curious what they'll say about her death too, and I've also wondered if it's a ploy by Bennett to keep her safe somewhere. But if Hayden isn't returning then that seems like a pointless plot to insert. I don't mind if she's dead really, as I got tired of her in the first series. Shouldn't Peter still have her ability if they would need it? (If the character is still alive and they could get Milo back, that is) I'm actually excited to see this though I won't be able to watch till tomorrow.

Even though the promos aren't considered spoilers, since the last 3 episodes are several weeks away I thought I would post here in talking about it.  So Nathan/Tommy believes that he knows the right place to undo everything, while Erica claims that they will all cease to exist if he goes back and makes the change.  I thought at first that the change might be preventing Claire from revealing her powers; if that included Hayden P. actually appearing, it would be great - Tommy would get to meet his mom before ceasing to exist.  But why would that mean Erica would no longer exist, unless she was lying or just plain wrong.  Any thoughts?

I'm assuming that if Erica is stuck in the future timeline where the apocalypse went through and he changed the past to stop it from happening... She'd be stuck in a future timeline that won't exist any more. She and that future colony would either be erased from time and space. Or at least that's my guess.

That sounds like a possibility :)

Back to Nathan/Tommy possibly going back to stop Claire - if she didn't listen to reason, Tommy could just steal her powers, thus keeping her from demonstrating them :)  Of course, that means he's stuck in the past, but maybe wouldn't cease to exist.  (Okay, I'm reaching here LOL)

It would be an interesting test of Claire's regeneration ability. Would her power be stronger than the disappearing from time tv cliche? I don't know why they just don't push Erica off the stairs and come up with their own plan to save the world. Though with these heroes... They're not exactly the brain trust. Then again neither are the citizens judging by their bigotry against Evo's, who think picking a fight with a chick that has weather control is a smart idea. There's no Xavier in this universe so I'm not sure why the Evo's aren't just going F U to the bigoted humans and saying "Think you're hard enough ?"
